  1. What was it you didnt like about the 350z suspension ? by refined do you mean it was too hard ? My wife and I both prefer hard suspension, probably because we both corner too hard
  2. Cheers I see that the 04.5-06 coils have a higher spring rate than the earlier ones. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Part:Springs interesting.
  3. cheers N15m0, now to find some stock 350z coils.
  4. I havent got much further with this as I need to measure the shocks and I cant really afford to have this car off the road too long. So Ive decided to go with the 350z suspension option. Can anyone confirm that all I need is 4 shocks and 4 coils ? are any of the bushes or brackets different ?
  5. thanks for the replies guys. for anyone else following this thread here is the pictures of the sedan with 350z suspension. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/282805-review-stock-350z-suspension-vs-stock-v35-suspension/ apparently a 1" drop. Doesn't look it in the images though. I don't really want secondhand shocks, so the GT-8 stuff is out, unless I buy new from Nissan.....if I wont the lottery. Im still trying to find out if the tokico G35 shocks will fit, I suspect they will, but Im concerned they are for the coupe and not the sedan and I dont want the drop.
  6. Hi Folks, my v35 300gt sedan is in bad need of some new shocks. So I was wondering if anyone on here knew what my options are. I heard the 350z shocks and coils fit, but I also read that they lower the car approx 1 inch. Normally this would be ideal, however this is my wife's car and she already complains about it scraping on big speed humps and spoon drains. While we don't want to lower it we do want to stiffen it up. Both of us prefer hard suspension. So what are my options ? Are the 350z shocks the same, but with lowered coils ? Or are the shocks actually different ? Could I use G35 sedan shocks from the US ? Cheers
  7. I have a 300gt P-collection. When we first drove it I was a little underwhelmed. However after owning it for a while it is pretty quick. It is quicker than it feels. There is no doubt the 350 is quicker but the 300 is by no means slow. As a bonus it gets terrific fuel economy. We get 12.5l / 100km of 100% city (mostly peak hour) driving. It is my wife's car and she absolutely loves it. The p-collection is fully optioned and has full leather interior so it probably a little heavier than the standard 300gt. It was the only choice for us as we couldn't afford to buy a 2004 and above and I wanted to avoid the CVT.
  8. No, they arent shocks. separate part of the suspension.
  9. The front end of my 300gt is creaking and according to the guys at G35 Driver its the Compression Rods. http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166199 Has anyone here had them replaced yet ? i suspect its cheaper to get them from overseas, are there any reliable contacts ?
  10. We have just received our 300gt p-collection. the p-collection comes decked out in leather and all the other goodies. Ours also has privacy glass....mmmmm . Its a very nice luxury car. Very quiet, comfortable and spacious. It feels very european. Power is a tough one. Its a very subjective topic. Personally I consider it average. It doesnt have much pick up till about 2500 rpm after that power delivery is pretty good. Its an engine that enjoys to rev though so If your in a hurry keep the rpm up. We found (in a 300gt we demoed) that the 5 speed auto will not change up automatically when its in manual mode. It just hit the rev limiter in first gear until we manualy changed it. In auto mode it can be tricky to keep the car in its power band. The auto seems to be programed to get into 5th gear ASAP. this is nice for fuel economy. It means you are doing 1100rpm at 60km/hr but when you want to acelerate you have to wait for the box to change down two gears (or more) and wait for the rpm to reach 2500-3000 before it really starts to pull. The car is also very deceptive. Even though it may not feel like you are acelerating quickly it is up to 60km/hr before you know it. To make maters worse there is something about the design that make 60km/hr feel like you are crawling along and when you get into a 40 zone it feels like you could get out and walk. These traits make the car feel slower than it actually is. I have driven an australian delivered maxima with the 3.5ltr in it and despite it having lower power output than the 300gt it feels a lot quicker. I imagine it has a better tourque curve. Of course in the Maxima that lovely engine is wasted on FWD and a barf worthy interior. I guess one bonus of the 300gt over the 3.5 is improved fuel economy. So far it looks to be pretty economical. I'll post some real spec in the next week or so.
  11. Hey Vargas what sort of fuel economy do you get out of the 300gt arround the city ?
  12. 300gt is 5 speed auto, not sure about the 250gt, Id expect it to be the same though. the 300gt is supposed to be 0-100 in 7 sec so Im not sure about it being slower than a commodore. It does have 191kw and is about 100kg lighter so it should be able to out run most v6 commodores. The stagea is a different story though.
  13. I dont know what p-collection stands for either. But I do know that they come with full leather trim, bose stereo and a different interior colour scheme. I'll post some pix later.
  14. Hi folks, I have a v35 300gt p-collection landing in Brisbane this week and Im looking to upgrade the suspension. I have driven a 300gt before and wasnt that impressed with its cornering. It seemed to have a lot of Body roll. So have any of you fellow sedan owners upgraded the suspension ? If so what did you do, how did it turn out and home much did it cost ? Thanks guys.
