Ash: Was that directed to me? if it was, of course i think a catch can is beneficial thats why ive always had one. i just wasnt sure if it was better to have it draining back to the motor or not, as some friends have completely sealed up catch cans with the drain back to sump, and some have VTA ones with no drain.
I Dont get the claims about motor builds though, im not an engine builder i just get the feedback from a few very well respected engine builders who are on these forums.

spose i dont really need to drain it, never had issues with the previous motor just thought it may have been beneficial to do so. saves me money on braided lines and fittings lol
cheers guys

i have a catch can, with a return drain piece at the bottom. it is custom made on the passenger side up the back. i heard it is not possible to plumb it to the turbo oil return as there is pressure. is there a way around it keeping the can on that side. i was told to go to the dipstick but its on the other side as you would know

i took my hicas ecu out years ago in R33 GTSt. i guess u could say the steering was slightly heavier but im also running 19" rims which weigh shitloads more than the stockers.
i also never had the hicas light come up on the dash when i removed the ecu
some ppl think its weird but it was basically unplug it all and things were normal.

all good found a 10 inch shifter. that just just fit onto it. was a funny sight, had my feet pressed up against the garage wall while pushing forward lol
-
what tool have people used to remove the tight as 4 sided rod end when installing a lock bar for r33 gtst? ive tried gettin a big shifter in there but its too thick and doesnt butt up against the rod end properly so cant get a good grip.

I got an R31 GXE Series 2 which i had as a little project car but it has to go along with some other parts that were to be used
- Complete VL RB30 motor incl ECU- $230
- R31 RB30 Head. ( No injectors/rail, cas)- $40
- VL RB30 Auto Box- $70
- R31 RB30 Series 2 Block- $150. (not sure of its condition yet, looks fine, but gonna drop the sump and just check there)
Then I have the car to go, would prefer to sell it together but ill be willing to wreck it for parts if i get enough people interested
- R31 GXE Series 2. Series 3 front bar, series 3 hotplates, Front King Springs, Air con, Immaculate interior. ( did input shaft on Box)- $500 ono
If someone wishes to buy the car and the complete motor as a package- $700 ono (Cheap project car with the ability to convert to turbo very easily)
Some other parts i have at the moment include
- R33 GTS-t Injector loom with plugs and plugs for CAS etc.
- Stock washer bottle- $10
few more parts added shortly. Pics tonight
Located Gold Coast QLD
Pm here is best
Cheers...Ben.

hey mate if u end up finding parts seperate, i think u pm'd me as i have drive shafts, hubs (also a brand new kaaz center).
cheers...ben.

i dont think they suck as such coz my bro inlaw had a series 4 13bt with a gt35/40 on it ( sold it and got an r34gtt), weighed about 900kg lol... so much respect to their performance, i just cant stand the sound. it drives me mental. i prefer a deep growl over the buzzing sound
-
unsure if they are all the same, i think r32 may be different, but it was purchased for an r33 gtr, i can get the model/part number for you if you wish?
Cheers...Ben.

yeh my mate who does exhausts n stuff hates heat wrap as he also said it can make the metal brittle and weak over time. Ceramic coating is expensive but i love it, gives a nice clean look to it, and works great.

my r33 had no issues at all in 5th @60kmh/ providing its flat ground. my bro inlaws r34 drives very nicely cruising in 5th @ 60kmh. both very smooth and no lugging. ive had mine for 7 years now never an issue, or with any of my other cars, particularly my work van which saw alot of kms on the road hehe

i know its not a t51r, but alot of ppl told me i would definatley need to upgrade my cooler, although it is doing a perfect job... i have a t04z making 600rwhp and its a hybrid 600x300x76 LOL... Kev @ Hyperflow was actually amazed when he saw how good it was working.
but yeh 100mm i reckon is plenty, ppl go stupidly big

i noticed in the images that there is a 4 point cage in an xr6t that retains its back seat. i know its a sedan with heaps more room but will they be made to accomodate a back seat?

496whoooooahhh maybe 296 as if a td07s can make 496? and the 500 i obviously meant 300... how can 500 be pretty responsive lol... the reason we thought the rings were stuffed was coz the amount of blow by we were getting, which the engine builders told me it was coz the clearences...i was borrowing a mates gate to work out why we had alot of boost control issues, hence the dynos with the lower boost, the 25psi run was the last run with the trust gate
f**k sake mate like i said im not blaming u so relax it was 4 years ago done done, i got invoices and proof to show my car was apart in November 2005 ( hence my 2006 autosalon apearence with a different motor ( but same turbo)
dunno what the go is with the dates coz i clearly remember that being 1 year earlier... as it lines up perfectly with my motor being removed in November 2nd week if i recall
so relax, i miss typed shit, im not blaming u, im not saying ur a theif, im not asking for anything. just said be careful with engine builders as u dont want ur hard coin going to waste...
