I am happy to ship any parts Australia wide at the buyers expense. Either Aust. Post or courier will be used. You can PM or email me at [email protected] ...James
  6. Its more of a problem then that, I cant even see, or feel, where the plug goes into. I can feel no wires coming out of the unit (bar the aerial cable)... ...Jamess
  7. a good rule of thumb is to add up all of the fuse ratings on the amps you are running and get that size fuse. eg one amp running a 20amp fuse and the other a 40amp= 1 60A fuse on the power wire. This generally works well but remember not to exceed the rated amperage of the power wire you are running. ...James
  8. Does anyone know how to get the antenna out of an R33 Series 1? since imported from Japan the aerial never did work on mine and upon closer inspection I have found a plug floating around the aerial motor that is not connected. It has 3 wires, power, ground and the turn on wire. All I really need is for someone to tell me where this plug plugs into on the aerial motor. Does anyone know this and if not how do I get the aerial out...? ...James
  9. it is effects just as cooks44 said
  10. the biggest problem with buying headunits from America is the importing. You MUST check if the buyer will ship to Australia (use air freight or you will be waiting over a month.) Also if there is a problem with the headunit, chances are no company in Australia will cover it with warrenty and you might have to sent it back to the US. Also watch out for the importing taxes and charges. Apart from that only the AM band is effected
  11. figure out how much you want to spend and we might be able to help you more. JB HiFi are always a good place to start. They have a wide range of headunits and are very reasonably prices and generally bargin. Play around with them and find out which features you will use then find a unit that suits you. Never pay the listed full price at any store, there are always better prices to be had!
  12. the acc acts as a turn on wire for the headunit. It is much the same as a remote wire from a headunit is to an amp, it tells it when to turn on so the amp isn't drawing power from the battery when the car is off. if you are running a headunit and you intend to use the internal amplifier (eg. run the speakers off the headunit) then i would recommend running a new fused power wire directly from the battery. However if you just intend to use the RCA outs from the headunit to run an external amplifier it probably isn't necessary to upgrade the power wire and you can usually just split a wire off the cigarette lighter. (be sure to do this safely). If in doubt, run a new wire:)
  13. as for equalisers, about the best indash eq you are going to find is a 7 band graphic equiliser which are as effective as anyone would like them to be. they are more for looks then actual equalisation as most headunits have great eq's on them these days. if you had the money you could put a screen in the top slot and put the headunit into the bottom slot. Just connect the screen up to a playstation, xbox, dvd player ect and you have games and entertainment in the car. Note: This can be an expensive exercise! alternatively you could always get a map pocket:D
