Hi all
I have decided to buy a 400r front bar for my r33 s2 . there are many types or '400r' bars out - im looking for one that will fit a S2 and doesnt have the extra grill part(the fake GTR thing). I have tried a number of places with no luck. Stores who say they sell them either dont or cant confirm if they fit a S2.
can some one please point me in the direction of a store that do sell the type of 400r bar im looking for ?

Hi all
i have recently decided to go back to a stock front bar - the aftermarket front bar on my car is rooted
i want to get a stock S2 r33 front bar - i was just about to buy one and the question popped up in my mind of , will my FMIC fit
i have a Apexi GT spec FMIC - My current front bar front area dimensions are 792mm wide and 274mm high . Did some goggling and only found one spec for the FMIC - 610 X 237 X 136 MM not sure how correct that is and only think thats the core measurements.
would my FMIC fit with a S2 bar? or could someone measure the front area for me ?

Adam - you are using a test ENT file that I provided to Pete. It should be TPS idle < 1 volt and then use the fuel maps above this. However 1 volt was a starting point, after some discussion tonight about 0.9 volts should be used. Suspect that the TPS trigger may be backwards hence the problem. I'll retest the firmware changes and probably get Pete to recheck on Monday. Unplugging TPS makes the car drivable in the interim
In regards to R33 daughterboards, as per the picture:
This is a Techtom daughterboard installed into an R33 ECU. The main 84 pin MPU is removed and a 84 pin transition socket is fitted to the ECU. Then carefully the board fits into the 84 pins on the transition socket and the MCU is plugged into this daughterboard. The daughterboards are very expensive and emulators used to tune the ECU and then an EPROM chip is burnt afterwards
Workarounds to this is like Toshi does - use the board to tune and then remove the original MCU and reprogram a blank MCU with the tuned maps. The blanks are about $80-$90AUD each and burn once then throw away jobs. An EPROM to MCU adaptor is used to program these PROM MCUs
Making a Nistune equivalent with 32KB NVsRAM is no easy task. The transition sockets alone are very expensive and require expert installation to fit to the ECU. On top of that is reverse engineering the existing operation (which I kinda got sussed) but then there is the design effort, mulitple logic chpis and the effort in putting a prototype together. The consult speed is slower (less buffering) and sync and cell change speeds may be affected.
This is not an installation process which most workshops would be able to do, even EPROM boards which I've fitted for dr drift have experienced problems and after checking all connections, something like a single coil etc shown not to work due to track problem on the board or even a pin not connecting properly on the MCU to the socket. Its not reliable and very difficult from a support point of view
The Z32 ECU works well, and even skimping on swapping injector lines not not appear to impact the running of the vehicle. The TPS transition from idle to fuel map is something we are making configurable for completeness with this type of install
My r33 s2 has had the EPROM boards installed in it and tunedt. before the tune it would from time to time miss. after the tune it disappeared for a while but again started to miss- this happen no more then 10 times over 8mths.
After doing a bottom end and rebuilding the engine i put a stock ecu back in and turned down the boost back to stock . after the rebuild and putting in another stock ecu the car now runs like a dream - my question is, do you think the missing was from the stock ecu being broken or the EPROM board or the tune being a little out . my other question , what issues have you had with the EPROM board - im looking at putting the modified ecu back in and going for a tune again but don't know if i should just go down the z32 path now .

Hi all
a few weeks ago ,I read that changing diff ratio's can make your car a lot more responsive down low - my goal is to have a very responsive car – not so worried about top end power and speed . The car is only for street use
A recent thread (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb25det-Mines-R34-G-t270448.html&hl=mines) suggested changing to a 4.636 but I'm thinking maybe a 4.375???.
After speaking to few people in the know they all think it will be insane to change the diff ratio as I will never get any traction in 1st and 2nd.
To give you a better idea about traction issues - currently i have bridgestone 235/40zr18 91y on the front and falken grbrs tune 2 265/35zr18 on the back with some very hard coil over suspension. Car is sitting on about 200rwkw
any advice would be excellent and comments from anyone who had made the change
thanks

Hi all
i have recently decided to go back to a stock front bar - the aftermarket front bar on my car is rooted
i was going to just put a 'stock' front bar back on after looking at some pictures of stock S2 r33's but after seeing a stock r33 S2 in the car park tonight i noticed it wasn't the same as the pictures . after doing some searching and looking at more S2 r33's it appears there are two types of r33 S2 front bars.....?
can someone help me out a bit and explain the difference in front bars
*some examples of the one i saw in the car park
* some examples of the one i want

i have recently finished rebuilding me engine (RB25DET) and have just finished running the engine in and about to do a oil change.
I have been told to use any 10-30w oil. Was thinking of using Motul 4000 Motion if that's the case? Is that the right type of oil to be using after a rebuild or should i move up to the Chrono?

Hi guys
I’m tyring to build a responsive 200rkw set-up and just wanted some advice on my set up in general but particularly my cam’s . The owner before me put in some nice HKS cams – 256 in and 264 out. My question is would it be better to go back to stock cams or leave the HKS cams in.
Mod list:
Stock turbo
Aftermarket ecu
pod
fmic
Splitfire coils
I may in the future add a HKS 2835 or hi-flow the stock turbo if that helps.
thanks

Item:ORC Twin Plate clutch
Age:6mths of use
Condition:used
Price:1000 + post(around 50-70)
To Fit: (What car)was on an r33 gtst
Location:sunbury ,victoria

Comments:The previous owner had installed a twin plate clutch to hold the 300rkw but now, after the RWC process, most the power-making mods had to be removed. Changed to a single plate as I do a lot of city driving .if you got questions ask and i will try answer them .

Hi
I've recently purchased a R33 GTST S2. I'm currently getting about 200km to a tank which is pretty bad.
the previous owner had the car pretty worked up but now, after the RWC process, most of the power-making mods, mainly the high mount turbo, had to be removed but a number of items still remain incase I wanted to put all the stuff back on.
The 550cc injectors, HKS mid lift cams and the z32 AFM were left on and I'm still running the stock ECU. I think this might be messing with the ECU and the reason for the poor fuel economy but I just wanted to see if anyone else has another idea before I run out and get a PFC
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

any one ?????

Hi
I'v just recently purchased an r33 gtst S2 .the previous owner had installed a twin plate clutch to hold the 300rkw but now, after the RWC process, most the power-making mods had to be removed but the clutch remains. I'm sick of it and decided to ditch it for something a lot more drivable.
I have spoken to a clutch specialist who has suggested that I get a Cushion button clutch. I have looked around but can't find any info on Cushion Button clutch. Are they any good? How easy are they to handle? Any information or experience would be awesome.

Hey guys
I’m looking at buying a mate’s skyline r33 .he basically just wants to get rid of it now after having a kid and needs to settle down. He has put a lot of work into it and its making 300rwkw .my only problem with buy the car is fuel economy.Next year I will be working full time, which means I will have to drive a lot more.
The o2 sensor (the one used for regulating fuel for constant driving like on the freeway) is broken (I have been told it’s a $50 job) so he can’t give me an accurate number; at the moment it’s doing about 200ks to a tank. Does that sound about right? How much do you get from a tank? What should I get a tank? If I run the boost at about 7psi daily what kind of economy should i expect?
Modifications:
Bigger turbo (td06 25g) running 1.2bar max
Intercooler
New ecu
Hks mid lift cams
Upgraded fuel pump and injectors
Exhaust
Thanks

i was looking into something like the falken FK 452 or the Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX TT or maybe the Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT.i always throught that Semi Slicks were illegal on the street .im not to worryied about K's - i do about 5k a year if that .
if i were to buy a Semi Slick i was thinking either the falken RT 615 or TOYO R888 Direzza - D03G or Potenza - RE55S or Potenza - RE-11S - i havent had much time to reseach a Semi Slick due to the fact i thought they were illgearl so i didnt bother.
im looking at 235/40/18 or the front and a 265/35/18 on the back - i hate 18X8.5 wheels on the front and 18 X9.5 on the back
