Oooohhhh. not that nice!

I think I'll stick with my Thule racks. I will post a thread on this soon.

  2. Hi SK

Can you recomend any good workshops in Sydney (preferably around Ryde) that can help me with suspension on an NM35 ARX Stagea. Pretty sure the dampers are shot and ready for the trash.

  3. aristo just beat me, but i flogged it off the line. :)

    ...beat a skyline though :)

yeah the rims on that M35 were big, but they suited it :)

By going the larger rims has that increased the diameter of the wheel from the standard 18 inch wheels? If it has this may have effected the launch off the line?

  4. Andy, we meet at the Berowra truck stop just off the Pacific Highway at 7.30pm, then leave there at 8.00pm and head North. Some (like myself) just use the freeway, some use the old road (nice corners!). We end up in Erina and hang out there until about 10.30 or 11pm, and sometimes progress to either McDonalds or Krispy Kremes for a coffee or light snack.

I won't be able to make this week, you know, kids and family committments, but see what I can do in the New Year.

  5. Andy and Jetwreck, you should come to the Coastie meets on Thursday nights - I'd love to have a look at an M35 in the flesh too!

Not sure I can make it but where and what time Thursday? What are the "Coastie meets"?

  6. You got my cherry(first time spotted...took three weeks..lol)....I work in Rhodes....missed the Silver ARX though : ( .

Gotta love the traffic around there aye!!!!

Usually not so bad for me as I head south in the morning but that day was the pitts. 2 km's in 40minutes!!

Is your car stock or have done some mods yet? I want to talk to some one who knows about suspension for the NM35 as I would like to improve mine.

I'll have to watch out for Lanky as I live in West Ryde.

  7. yeah do that

These are pictures from the back of the car.

The first pic is of the diff showing the arm that is hydralically moved. The whole arm moves enough to move the wheel about 1 degree. Thi is at the rubber cover.

2 -4 show the shelf behind the back right wheel with all the workings above.

    Hope this helps.

  8. Duncan....I was in a Black M35 ARX.....If you were in the white Stagea you should have heard me I was right next to you tapping the horn as I went past the entrance from Castle Hill road...maybe you had the Spice Girls pumping on the stereo and didn't hear me...lol.....might not have been you though.

I hit Pennant hills Road at about 7.45 to 8.

Were you around near MRT at Rhodes last Wednesday afternoon. Saw a Black ARX go past me while sitting in the crap traffic that day just around the corner from MRT. I am in a Silver ARX.

    Cheers

  9. Hi All, i am very interested in these M35.

Regarding the 4X4 system does any one no much about the distribution of power?

Is it like the older GTR systems full rear then spread to front when rear slips?

Are there aftermarket bias controllers available?

Regarding parts and so on what kind of costs are there? EG Auto failure Big Stuff and little stuff brake pads what fits.

The Big Question: Insurance? are there any 26 year olds on sau that have one of these fully insured? What does it roughly cost ?

Any futher info would be greatly appreciated

    Pikie

The 4x4 system is rear biased but upon slips allocates upto 45% (from memory) to the front. On the ARX it has a limited slip rear diff as standard. The ARX also has 2 syncro modes for starting on gravel or snow. This allocates some power to the front up to certain speed then it goes back to rear bias and power to front on slippage.

Have a look at the link, http://www.nissan.co.jp/STAGEA/M35/0110/, there are demonstrations of various functions including the 4WD function and the modes.

I insured through Just Car as Shannon's would not insure me without a garage in NSW.

  10.
Isn't HICAS only on the AR-X? Mine is an RS-Four 250T

I think some of the 250TRS had the HICAS. Where you described is where the HICAS is on my ARX. Just behind the right hand back wheel on a small shelf. Sounds like you may have the HICAS on your car.

If you like I can take a pic of the set up on my car and post it for you?

  11.
Thanks for that offer. I might take you up on it. Would there be a problem getting them to me in NZ? I neeed the bushes for multi link suspension it seems as these are worn/damaged mainly on right hand side but left not too clever either.

The attessa pumps (2 of them) are on the right hand rear and reservoir is above them inside the right hand cubby in the NM35. Just pull it out and you will see it. The buzzing was caused by too much air and not enough liquid in the system. The mechanic had not realised how much was needed. Problem resolved by bleeding and topping up.

Would pay to check on level in reservoir from time to time but the AWD orange warning light comes on when it gets low and I think the pump shuts out. Not exactly sure what this fluid gets used for.

The pumps run what is called Super HICAS. This is a 4 wheel steering system that only works to help with steering above 40kmh(i think that is the speed). It hydraulically alters the angle of the rear wheels by up to 1.5 degrees. This assists in high speed stability. It does not help with low speed maneuvering.

  12. cheers chris. ive had a read of g35driver.com and it might be as simple as unplugging and grounding one wire that goes to the foot-brake, but i'm not 100% sure. i will also have a look this afternoon.. but i don't want to screw up some other electrics by removing a wire..

if its only the park brake then its no biggie, but if it also monitors the speed sensor then it might be an issue cutting that..

I have set up my Stagea ARX with this RCA input and I have found that I can play the movies whilst driving. On my car it seems related to the setting of the GPS.

By playing with the GPS menu (right hand top button) I have found that I can have the GPS active or static. What I mean is that when the GPS is active it tracks me across the japanese map (although this is obviously wrong). I have found that I can make the GPS static, it does not track me accross the map but does show the direction I am heading. When it is in this mode the movies will play all the time.

When the GPS is active, the movies will only play with the hand brake on.

    Very strange but great result.

  13. Hello all,

I have never liked the shape of the older stagea although I have though many time...the running gear and specs were great.

I am looking to buy a Stagea..ARX..2004..with the VQ25DET motor and am interested

to know who hold compliancing for these things in Victoria...

I have searched on the Government web site and had no luck finding anyone here in Vic.

Can some one please direct me if they have one in Victoria and who they used?

    Thanks in advance

    Tekin

    Hi Tekin

The ARX does have the VQ25DET motor. I just picked mine up in NSW from, http://www.northshoreprestige.com.au . He has a few ARX's in stock plus a great looking 250t RS FOUR with all the options.

    Great car and so comfortable.

    Cheers

    Andy
