Being my first Auto Salon I was unsure what to expect, driving home on Friday night I realised there was not one piece of custom paint or chrome to be seen in our SAU stand. We were a little out of place but as far a PR exercise it was a success. On Sunday arvo Abo Bob and I were walking around and we were approached by a paint shop who will be putting in an R32 next year. He commented that SAU is not about the bling but more about the go. He further stated ”this show was not really our scene, but its good you are here”. At the end of the conversation he questions advertising and sponsor cost on our forum. Obviously this is the good outcome from the show, should it progress. Personally I had a great 2 days, it was good fun, hanging around the “Bro’s” and the dyno attention was something special. The highlight was having one or two beers with Abo Bob on Sunday arvo and taking some real time to have a good close look at almost every car and catch up with a few of the owners and hearing their stories. I would loved to have seen someone from SAU take an award, but the outcome was to be expected as the cars on display were virtually blingless. Thanks to everyone who put in time to organise the event and assist with everything that had to happen to make the day work.

Uhhhhmmmm im not sure how to break this news but the dyno is exactly on the money. My car showed 298.9 on croydons dyno and 300 on the AS one. On Thursday I run 310 at the rears at the UAS dyno and backed it up with a first run of 288 at all 4 on the AS one. My opinion its a close as it gets

Yes it was a good day, after the 600+ phattgtr had a run the interest in the SAU stand doubled. The cars all looked great and we had alot of lookers considering there was not one piece of custom paint or chrome to be seen. All I can say is a good car is good car even without all the Bling Bling

Great work today, the cars will look a lot better thats for sure. Thanks to everyone who rolled thier sleaves up and got bussy. And it was great to have a chin wag with all. See you all on Friday. Post up any picks especially my, panel work, wink wink. Recovering my phone and wallet 8hr later after leaving it at the car wash was gold!

I know Steve WRX sent the form off yesterday, expect about 4 more early next week. Im not sure if I will own my car by then, so im a last minute maybe.

There might still be a few of us around at our house at 4-5, or we might head down to the Tav after we are finished.

I would suggest that Duncan may have issues with his 2 x R32 GTR's at the show. Duncans car had a broken box and Marks one rolled 5 times in the Targa and is a mess, check out the targa 07 thread in Motosports

The other option might be Lunch at my house on the 29th, Im already cooking a BBQ and have a few beers organised for the guys who are coming to help clean the cars, a few extras wont bother me. Let me know if this might work better? In addition, I received my confirmation e-mail from Auto Salon Yesterday, I assume they already have my completed vehicle form.
