in theory you could use an rb30de gearbox with minimal mods, other that that your screwed as the bellhousings differ to much.
-
If its not boosting then you have a leak thiers no question about it . and the slpluttering is the engine running lean due to the extra air beeing sucked in with out the afms Knowing, use some crc or rp7 and start spraying the inlet, hoses blah blah with the car idleing if the Revs go up you have found your leak,
hope this helps. it sounds like a i/c pipe is loose.

Comments: bought these for my gtr about three months ago and once fitted it sat at the panel beaters for nearly three months and after getting it back on the road the engine spun a bearing so ive decided while im thier building a better engine im going to go bigger for more power. they have traveld less than 500 km and look brand new, i dont have pics as thier still sitting on my old engine but will have them off this weekend, Let me know if your interested via pm
i paid 2500 for them when i bought them so i think price is reasonable,

your clutch can not have a noise if your foot is not on the pedal, its spinning as an entire assembly locked up to the flywheel and front of the gearbox assembly.
wrxhoon is 100% correct on theory of operation and diagnosis.
if its only there when the pedal is not pressed in, its either normal noise from the gearbox (they all make a bit), or the input shaft bearing is worn/noisy or its the gears on the input and cluster gears have the hard casing worn off the teeth and thus causing excessive noise.
not worth worrying about really if you know you have the correct oil and amount in the box, all you can do is add some nulon g70 gearbox/diff additive to quiten it down a little bit.
and to add to this Bearings have a grumble not a whine , also the gears dont always wear the can stretch and flaten out and this also causes a niose .. Its extremly common on all gtr all the ones i have ever driver have made it lol
Is This Right? Timing Belt
in General Maintenance

looks all good to me , Make sure your tension is correct, i usally roll it over a few times then re check it, usally thae marks on the belt can be matched to the marks on the gears to make it easyier but they dont always line up, so use the marks on the motor.
