  1. Christ! I've just realised this thread is two years old!
  2. Ive just taken my heater matrix out by removing the glove compartment then the a/c unit. Its easy. You will have to get the a/c unit regassed. you can give the a/c unit a good clean as its out, mine was quite mucky. http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthr...ighlight=heater
  3. I've been rebushing my front suspension and now I have got to the inner and outer upper front control bars. Ive managed to get the bushings out of the inner one( which was a bitch) but the outer one looks a bit iffy! It looks like I will have to take off the disc and calipers and take the whole outer bar out with the hub to work on it. I am not sure how useful my ebay 6 ton press will be in getting the old bushings out. I have got the super pro bushes and they are adjustable for the camber, I want to leave it in the same position as the old ones( which I assume is standard setting) so do I set the hole on the cam centres to the top or to the bottom? I would be really grateful for some info. Cheers Peter
  4. Dont know about the r32gtr but I bought a r32 clutch master cylinder for my n/a r33( thinking that if the gearbox is the same the master cylinder will probably be the same as well) but the r32 one was a different shape and would not fit.
  5. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Annoying-Clicking-Noise-t206019.html&hl=Aircon+clicking this might help.
  6. You can get replacement piston kits from nissan for the clutch master and slave cylinder. They are really cheap, about $70 for both and p*ss easy to fit. I took out the bundy pipe and that extra bit and replaced it with a single braided line between master and slave cylinder. Made a load of difference! Dont know if you blokes need the extra bit of pipe cos I heard it was for hot climates.
  7. Wouldnt you need to upgrade the gearbox, brakes etc?
  8. I thought that you jack the back of the car up so that the rear wheels where off the ground and turn one wheel. If the other wheel turns as well in same direction it shows that you have a lsd diff.
  9. I got the capacity wrong...antony Mcgraph said 4.1 litres and some say 3.8 0r 3.7 , dont matter just fill it up until it spills out the filler hole!! Some people say that Redline light is good ,some say its no good , some say that Redline heavy duty is good , some say no good..the point I was trying to make is that it sometimes doesnt matter what oil you put in ,it will not cure your worn synchros, but it sometimes helps. If you read around the forums any oil anybody has put in has different results . Redline heavy duty is recommended for problem gearboxes and the light weight is not recommended for synchro type transmissions ( their words not mine) ...also the Redline heavy duty gearbox oil that I bought was red not yellow. Anyway Im not sure about this bloke, he doesnt know what a fuel tank is !
  10. Sounds like your synchros are shot!! whatever you do , dont put fuel in your gearbox only put fuel in your fuel tank What you need to put in your gearbox is...gearbox oil !In your case about 4.2 litres if you drain all of the old oil out! The bad news is that if your synchros are gone they are gone. To have a really slippery box like you have on a new car you will have to get the box repaired ( that costs lots of money) or fit a good second hand box ( risky ).. dont even think about buying a new box!! The not so bad news is that SOMETIMES replacing the oil makes a lot of difference..lots of blokes with synchro problems on their skylines put Redline heavy duty shockproof gearbox oil in and find it stops most of the crunching. You can get a garage to do this for you or you can do it yourself... if you want to do it yourself then you can refer to the first thread that you put on this site and go to the tutorial that was suggested..its easy..the only thing that is difficult is pumping up the thick oil with the pump( I would recommend getting the syringe pump maybe from ebay or something like that). I have a nagging feeling that this may be a wind up ..if it is ,youve got me!!..If this is a genuine question then I hope that this answer may help you.
  11. If you go to the diy/ tutorials on this forum you will find a thread about cleaning and resetting an aac for a gtst. I know you have a rb20det but the principle should be the same.... You will see that there is a spring in the aac. I would think that it would be easier to get a whole aac unit than getting just a spring. hope you get on ok
  12. There is a good tutorial for changing your oil http://www.anthonymcgrath.co.uk/gtroc/gear_oil.htm Its pretty simple , he fills the gearbox through the filler hole with a syringe pump , you must be able to get something like thet in Oz I used exactly the same pump and it probably is the best way to fill the gearbox. Just a couple of things..dont suck the oil up with the syringe just undo the cap and fill it up near the top then put the cap back on using a rag. Also if you put in redline heavy duty shockproof be prepared for a sore shoulder... its like treacle!! The capacity of a gtst gearbox is 4.1 litres
  13. Once again thanks you guys for your knowledge!!
  14. Where I am you can pick up a 200sx gearbox a lot cheaper than a skyline one. Also there are a lot more of them around so yes if I could pick up a decent Skyline box it would be the best thing but if a good 200sx box will fit, great! Just one other thing. After I found that I did not have a gtst box I also found out that my box holds about 1.5 litres less than the 4 litres I put into it.I drained a load of oil out and the boxs seems to crunch less. Its gone from crunchy to a bit notchy( which I can live with). Hopefully it will stay that way, if not I can fall back on what I learned here.
  15. Sorry the 200sx has a sr20det engine ( 4 cylinder ) not a rn20det!
  16. so what you are saying is that the 200sx s14 has rb20det engine and the rb20det engine would have the same gearbox as the rb25de. Ive got a rb25de engine so the 200sx s14 box should fit mine. Yeah???
  17. I was told the gearbox was the same for the 200sx between 1994 and 1999. I think that up to 1994 the 200sx was the s13 and between 1994 and 1999 it was the s14. If anyone has a r33n/a with a rb25de engine in it and have changed thier gearbox they would probably know. I know there is a lot of non turbo skylines out here .
  18. That might be right. When I was told that the n/a had the same gearbox as the 200sx s14, the guy said that my gearbox ,unlike the gtst, had the oil filler hole on the passenger side. To be honest when I replaced the oil on my gearbox I filled it through the reverse gear switch which is on the drivers side as there was no filler on that side ( I didnt think to look on the other side!). I have just seen a picture of the 200sx gearbox and it has the swich in the same place so I just need someone who maybe has changed a gearbox on a r33 n/a to confirm this is the same box. I think that the 200sx may have the rb20det engine in it which , I think puts out about the same power as the rb25de so it makes sense. I was told that the 200sx had these gearboxes in until 1999. I dont want to chase a gtst gearbox if it doesnt fit and a 200sx gearbox is supposed to be easier to come by. As the n/as seem to be very popular in Australia maybe someone out here knows.
  19. The bad news is that the gearbox in my r33 gts n/a is dying, redline heavyshockproof is not helping. The good news ( hopefully) is that the gearbox off a 200sx is the same. Is that right?
  20. The front windscreen is different to 2doors.Side mirrors are definitely different.rear lights are different . The sedan is slightly longer than the 2 door but exhaust is common. Engine is exactly the same . I wouldnt buy anything off a 2 door on trust make sure! Sorry if Ive repeated some stuff and if anyone knows any more please tell cos Ive got a 4 door r33.
  21. Yeah , I can see the two Swedish birds , I like that ,well spotted! The sticker just says Redline car imports ( thats where I bought it). Yeah , the car across the road really is pink, I think its owned by one of the teenage girls who live there. I know you are a long way away but if you know any other Aussies who have been to England ( especially Earls court)they will tell you about Essex girls they are known for wearing white stilletos, driving "flashy" cars ( or having a boyfriend called Kevin or Wayne who has one) and going home with thier knickers in thier handbag! The burgundy car belongs to the bloke next door , he's got no excuse! what do you blokes think the best stuff to clean up the headlights with and what do you reckon about fitting HIDs ?
  22. Hi I've tried a couple of times to say hello hope this one works ! got a four door spec 2 r33 n/a . Here is some pictures, weathers a bit crap( I come from Essex, England. There is quite a few Skyline around here!) and I haven't cleaned the wheels but when the spring comes Ill show you the shiny version! Maybe I'll get another camera too! You blokes seem to know a lot about Skylines and have some versions like the r31 that are near enough unknown in Britain. I've been studying the technical sections for quite a while and now know just enough to get me into trouble so I might be asking some questions soon!
