  1. Had a very bad experience with one of the "big" workshops here in SA, I won't name them but I definately wasn't impressed with their workmanship.

    ill say it.

dont goto doyles. theyre shit and overpriced.

  2. there is a silver 4 door 34 parked in the Pretoria car park in Mannum.

has been there for atleast 3 days, front number plate is hanging on by 1 screw, and there is a bit of stuff in the car, shoes etc, most noticable being a purse sitting on the back seat.

the car has got leaves on it, is pretty dirty etc, hasnt moved since thursday or friday.

has a synergy sticker on the back window, and a gtsr badge on the front grill.

does anyone know whos it is? or what its doing etc?

i just find it a bit weird because of the purse etc sitting on the back seat. its just asking for someone to come along and break into it.

ive been keeping an eye on it, for damage etc, with the only thing being the front plate, someones tried to remove it or whatever.

anyone got any info? or know of someone missing it or anything? ill watch it and see if it moves etc, and ill get it checked out tomorrow by the 5-0.

  3. hey tim would that be like someone saying that they will buy a fixed back seat and they will grab it next time they come to the city, then after making the seller wait for 4 months trying to low ball them by offering them 3/4 of the price???

If it is i know how you feel.

    yep, but twice.

  4. anyone got mrgtt's number?

second time hes told me he will meet me, second time he hasnt shown up.

dont have time to sit around and f**king wait for people who dont f**kin show up.

  5. he got done because at 7500rpm (which is how cooler hoses tend to blow off) the cops heard him from 4 blocks away and saw all the smoke over roof tops from his burnout, not to mention half his tyre melted onto his rear guards and on top of that, probably got cocky

lol, I'm a good story teller............it is the NS kids after all

i was the one working on his car before the defect.

the cooler pipe was a bitch to get on, im surprised his mate even got it.

his o2 sensor isnt connected, so id say he wasnt thrashing it.

  6. here's the issue, firstly as far as our cars being illegal, well so are majority of the cars on road, difference is our defects are chromed, polished or painted and easier to spot than cracks, rust and worn parts underneath ur average car. our cars are no more illegal than your average car, in fact a lot of the time less illegal if you were to put them through regency.

for years defects have been used to crack down on "high risk" groups of people, you pull over someone u suspect of being a hoon, but didnt catch them in the act, bang defect.

we arent actually requesting any special treatment, simply that we be treated like a normal citizen who doesnt have police constantly trying to defect them.

trust you to single out my post

  8. the thing is, this needs to be put to EVERY police officer. not just 1.

there is no possible way that the entire sapol is going to agree and say 'oh thats an sau cruise, we wont defect them'.

i still think your fighting something that isnt worth it, and in turn will waste alot of peoples time.

  9. seems to me your asking permission to run cruises, with illegal cars, and not get any defects?

its the law, seriously, fighting it will do nothing. if you drive illegal cars be prepared to pay the price.

surely im not the only one that thinks this?

  10. true, but the suspension in imports makes it easier to get out of situations like that, compared to a commodore that handles like a boat, once you get the full weight of a commodore spinning there is no way to get it under control.

  11. the other thing is they want standard factory setting in height.

but they dont factor in that springs sag after 10 or more years.

all the cars i have put through went through with stock suspension and was too low.

had to find suspension that the stock springs were stretched and was 10-20mm above height. but as usual you have to make your car to high and make it unstable to pass. this isnt safe but thats what they want. they want your car to be unsafe but to be what ever the hell they say on paper.

they didnt even know that the early xe and xf falcon as well as the uc torana come out in a factory turbo option. they are australian cars so how the hell are they gunna know about imports if they dont even know their own???

    i agree.

majority of imports are modified to IMPROVE handling, not hinder it, thus making them safer to drive then about 90% of shit boxes on the road that arent imports.

but it seems making your car safer to drive is the problem.

  12. haha thanks, it seems to impress a few people, which makes me feel warm inside, haha.

something weird, it only got done for having 18s instead of 17s, but he didnt mention anything about the track. rear wheels are 11 wide, fronts are 10.

im going to get as much as i can engineered, so if it gets defected again it will be a minor(cop shop), not a major(regency), i tell myself it will work that way, but we all know it wont, haha.

  13. defected in murray bridge for:

    too low(coilovers)

    wheels 1 inch too big

    gauges on steering column.

    tinted tailights.

i knew it was too low, i knew the wheels were too big, i knew the gauges were illegal, i knew the taillights were illegal, i knew it was just a matter of time before they caught me.

its a murray bridge defect, so shouldnt be too hard to clear once i get the other stuff on the car sorted(going to be rego'd as a 2 seater etc).

car looks like this btw, driving it on the street, haha, im surprised they didnt get me sooner!
