  1. FOR SALE:A QUANTITY OF EXCELLENT Michelin Race Slicks used for one session on the weekend just gone . Perfect size for R35 Some as little as SEVEN LAPS COST $850 each - PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER. Most still have the original mould seams in place Will be advertised elsewhere (although this forum is the first place) Phone Steve on 0490 346 493 LOCATED SYDNEY BUT CAN SHIP ANYWHERE WITH TNT
  2. I have seen that before with that size and compound tyre - even with brand new stock - especially on powerful cars. I always recommend 270 68 18 for the R32 GTR. It's the rear tyre of the old Porsche Cup cars (not the Carrerra Cup 30 68 18 or GT cars as in Cup S and Cup RS 31 71 18)
  3. Thanks for that. Link to video?
  4. What makes you think Tony Virag got slammed while under a safety car?
  5. I have been on PF for many years (another user name) It's another world. Thankfully SAU is nothing like PF. There is court action in May 2011 on that matter Unlike the "owner" of PF, the owner of SAU is well known and can be exposed by members actions so we should be mindful when we make comments PF does not hold events where people's real names are listed either. PF is one big smoke screen.and like you say the "Wild West" So do I take it that I can bring my car to a dyno day and Surflo is supplying the dyno or am I mistaken Is there a butcher in the house to supply snags? Let's get behind Eric
  6. Eric The bit I am not buying is you are not normally the emotional type If so how do you even understand that Logic Vs Emotion stuff Steve
  7. That's lovely stuff to say to your wife but I am not buying it. Either that or yanks are more sensitive than Aussies. Most blokes I know have no idea what emotions actually are. Seriously. I'll give you a cultural tip. Don't admit to that stuff anywhere in Australia with mates. School yards have word for it. And my mate Dirty Pierre has a T Shirt that says "Harden the @U(k up!"
  8. Eric If you can part it out somehow you would be surprised at how much money it will return. I tried to sell a car a couple of years ago and could not get what I wanted so parted it out and ended up MANY thousands in front. The internet made it all possible so easily and quickly and I did not touch a spanner I was amazed at the stuff people were looking for and, like someone else said, cars hit up the rear are more rare and front parts are in big demand. A wrecker will give you nothing and make heaps. Yeah they are wreckers here not salvagers I vote for you to at least try it. You will be very pleasantly surprised and it might re-introduce some fun. My parting out experience was an eye opener and a buzz and very successful financially. Less effort than BBQs and way more productive. But I am always up for a snag or two. LOL Steve
  9. Eric, Thats an excellent update on YOUR health but I am concerned there is nothing about Reece in this thread. If I was the volunteer driving instructor assisting YOU I would not be impressed Regarding the "other driver" Richard (WHO I HAVE NEVER MET OR SPOKEN TO) it seems to me from your post above that he was more interested in your welfare than his car which was on fire and this is contrary to what people have been saying about his attitude after the incident. You seem to me to be painting a very good "VICTIM" story with desired outcomes to get people sympatetic to your cause but sometimes some people see through this approach and it can backfire Steve PS Fish Oil and Glucosamine with Condroitin works a treat on neck/back problems.
  10. Excellent post!!!!!! Especially the bit where you said both owners got the dreaded phone call. Had not thought of that. FWIW I had a brake failure at EC in the early 90's. Scary. It was also in a 300ZX (auto - my wife's!) Z32. After that i bought a manual Z32. LOL. And sold my 911 but that's another story
  11. I like Wakefield but this is just aweful. Would not like to be in the middle of that. Damage looks fairly serious. Where did this happen on the track and what speed was each car travelling at time of impact?
  12. If anyone is worried about rain I have a beautiful set of WETS FS $600. I realise there is a FS section but might be helpful here. 245F 305R 18"
  13. For those wondering about how to compare the sizes of these slicks to street tyres, slicks are measured very simply Michelin measure how wide it is = 270mm of tread width Then they measure how high the whole tyre is = 650mm high To compare them to your street tyres get a tape measure on your tyres and see how they compare. If yours are 245 wide street tyres actually measure them as some 245s are less then 245mm and some more than 245mm Then estimate if there is space for these slicks so they do not hit your guards or suspension It is actually simpler than the street aspect ratio measurng system once you get your head around it
  14. The "last page" button does not come up for me on page 1???
  15. Much faster then semi Slicks I have 6 of these tyres in total in this size for sale. $150 each with plenty of race miles left in them. 2x in the softest compound S7 and 4x in the better race compound S8 The S7's are good for a few laps for a really fast time and are preferred by Time Attack cars but are not as consistent all day as the S8 compounds The S8's do not go off and are preferred by most racers as they are consistent until completely worn out. I drove a Commodore once at Eastern Creek til the canvas was exposed and the 8's were good up til that last lap. Amazing tyres. Michelin recommend fitting to 10" to 11.5" rims but I know they work fine on 9" upwards to 11.5" Always stored indoors (except on occasions when car is outside of course) $660 each new. http://europeantechnique.com.au/michelin/Tyres/slick%20wet.htm Located NW Sydney for pick up or I will ship anywhere via TNT Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney $12.50 per tyre PM me your email address and I will send you photos with tread depths marked. Generally 2 to 3mm plus across the tread so very usable tyres
  16. The wheels have still not been used yet but will get their first outing this wednesday at wakefield, providing we can fix a problem on the car. The plan is then to race saturday /sunday then the wheels are for sale Monday. Anyone going to Supra day this wednesday is welcome to photograph these beautiful Enkei RACING rims. Defintiely not Enkei "Peformance" rims or Enkei "Tuner" rims. These are proper race rims and are the track trifecta: Cheap. light, strong.
  17. The unopened rims are sold. Thanks Dave. Will look beautiful on that Le Mans GTR I will be using the other set in the next week at a race meeting for the first time and I will use them on the Saturday practice/qual and the races Sunday. They will probably be for sale first week in December (after being used for 2 days, maybe 3 days. Pretty sure they are 370Z offset but do your own research.

  19. If these are not sold in next few days I am going to unpack them, fit slicks to them, use them and keep them for sale and when they sell get the better offset for the FD These rims are Cheap, Light and Strong. A rare race wheel trifecta. Call me on 0428 219888 if you want excellent track rims Negotiable on price once opened. Slightly.
