  1. Rev, more great advice. You need to write a newpaper column or something, because what you have to say can help a LOT of people! I've made up my mind now, I'm selling the NA and starting new, Problem in, now I have to decide want I want I can afford an R32 or R33 GTSt now, both of which I really like. Although I'm in love with the 34 which I can afford early/mid next year, and I've always wanted a GT-R. Then theres the Supra, S14/15, my idea to build an S1580 with an RB in it... Any suggestions? Leaning towards a 34 GTT at the moment. As for the built motor, I think I'll do surrounding mods first (Exterior, Interior, brakes, suspension) before I look into taking it to the next level. Thanks for everyones help though.
  2. No I havent driven a car with that much power, but if anyone wants to let me I'm willing to give it a go! I want a car that is quick, very competitive, on the track, the strip, and the street.
  3. I've always wanted to put an LS1 in a Skyline and an RB26 in a WB ute. Don't ask me why!
  4. Rev210, you have a good point there. If I get a GTSt, I can afford it as soon as I sell my car, just need to convince my parents. Turboing my car means waiting until all the backup mods are done... Hmmm
  5. I was looking at 350-400rwkw. More interested with response then hard hitting boost at 6000RPM.
  6. 4WD/AWDs are much harder then 2WDs. We see one coming in for a clutch, and we just cringe. A GT-T would be much eassir and cheaper.
  7. I've already planned to ugrade the gearbox to a GTSt gearbox, and I'm researching if I'll need something stronger. As for the diff, I'm thinking GT-R diff to reliably handle the power. Ive already taken wheels into consideration. I'm thinking about getting some GTT rims while I save for the ones I really want. As for the power, I might throw an RB25DET in there before the RB30. Just more ideas...
  8. Haha. May as well
  9. I had a feeling you were gonna say convert Eric I think I'll keep this car and convert it. Thanks guys!
  10. Thanks Steve, I'll do some more research and start working out a budget. This is gonna be fun...
  11. I can't afford a GT-R And I cant get any turbo car until July next year because parents think anything with a turbo is deadly, and they'll be on holidays then. Thanks for the ideas though, its really got me thinking.
  12. Is that $20k including labour or just parts? I'm going to buy some blown engines to practice rebuilding before I give this one ago. Like I said, I want to get into the modification side of mechanics, so this will be good practice. Now I'm waiting for Bubba to see this post and comment...
  13. You have a stock clutch. They dont like hoon driving. Even I have an aftermarket clutch
  14. Yeh, thats exactly what I want to do. Might need to get another job to afford it all though. Any one know a corner that needs working? I'm planning to do most if not all the work, save heaps and learn even more.
  15. Budget? Not exactly For some reason, an RB30DET powered GTSt is more appealing to me then a GT-R. Might be because of how rare they are, or because RWD is more fun then AWD (Refer to Wogan's old sig). Andrew, you just read my mind. Except I think I'll do a windows out repsray, and include the engine bay and door sills.
  16. But whats the chance of finding a car that has the same mods that I'm looking for? And will it be worth the extra $5k or so?
  17. Sleeper? Who said sleeper? I havent mensioned the exterior/interior mods yet Thanks guys, looks like the search for the brakes will begin...
  18. I think I joined up with this cruise just before the truck stop?? I was in the silver R33 with [NA 33 WA] plates. Didnt hang around long cos I had to get my passengers home, but was a good run!
  19. Andrew, excelent work mate!! Pity I had no petrol Would have enjoyed it a bit more. Glad I could park my car and ride shot gun to finish it off!! Great food as always, I've been meaning to go back sometime, havent had time yet. Highly reccommend it to anyone though!! I'll be there for the next one, for sure.
  20. Hey guys, I need some advise to do with the future of my car. I'm trying to decide if I want to convert my NA or buy a GTSt. My plan is to upgrade most the parts on the GTSt anyway, so I'm thinking it'll be cheaper to work on the car I have. My plan includes: RB30DET engine GT-R diff GT-R brakes Upgraded suspension As well as everything else that goes with that. Its a pretty loose plan at the moment, but I'm slowly researching. So... What do you guys think? Buy a GTSt and start off new? Or work with what I have now? *Note* I want to get into modification mechanics, so it will be a good project for me either way. Thanks Rhys
  21. It'll hang around for a bit and dissapear. Its not a good thing, but won't affect it to much. When it starts slipping constantly, thats when you know its screwed.
  22. Whos GTSt am I driving?
  23. EXACTLY!! Thanks Gazza!! Couldnt have said it better myself...
  24. Maybe paint the boot and bonnet black? Like Hoony's car, except his isnt white any more. Otherwise, go with carbon fibre
  25. SN1P3R's car looks good with the neons, but that does make it look more like a girls car. If the red/pink paint, the pink stickers, and the "THIS IS NOT MY BOYFRIENDS CAR" stickers wasnt enough. And yet her boyfriend is often asked if its his car... Why is that?
