Someone organise, my only concern is that 70% of v35's are gonna be silver, its kinda like the red of ferraris, its only a v35 if its silver!

So,
My v35, has really dark tints on the rear window and the two small side windows, nothing on the two front door windows. I have trouble reversing as night, as you could imagine.
I wasn't too sure what it was initially, so I wanted to get my whole car tinted. So I went to get it tinted. The guy ripped off, the old tint and put a new one all round (20%). What I ended up was with my two front windows at 20% and the read and back still very dark! Still looks silly.
What the guy told me afterwards is that I have privacy glass at the back and side windows! (plus some extra tint) Wtf! After the new tint, its still dark, cause he's put tint on an already dark privacy filter! I still cant see too well! The point of me putting new tint was so I can see better and have even colour all round!
ANyway the back is still very dark, does naybody no in % terms the tint level on the privacy filters? After putting a 20% tint on the privacy glass, it coms up at about 8% on his machine.
I think im going to rip off my tints at the back and just hope the pirvacy glass kinda matches with my tint....what a bitch and waste of money! All the extra tint for no reason, now gotta rip it off.
Im not too keen on smashing into others cars at night, so I think ill remove it!
WOnder if anybody else has that shit privacy filter thing at the back...please share your problems.

how much did you end up paying for your v35? and what specs?
I visited them also, they seemed pretty legit. I've asked a few people about them, and eveyone seems to think they are good to deal with, any problems people have had, have been solved.

Well according to the US, the v35 costs about USD5000 more
thats based on a cost base of 30-35K US, So the equivalent here would be 7-10k AUD here
if the v35 was sold here, I'd expect the preium to have gone for about 70k AUD.

Is there anyone in Sydney who has Amber but wants clear?
I'm thinking of going back to Amber as I think it looks better on black.
I'm undecided yet, but let me know. I'm specifically looking for Sydney as would like someone to pop over and we can simply swap them then and there.

nope,
I recharged my old battery, I was hopin it would still work.

charged my car again took it off the charger in the morning, drove it in the evening, no problems, it had 12.7v on it.
This morning i start it...its F'ed again.
I measured again it was 12.00.
how do I tell if its the battery thats flat or whether the alternator is broken and its not charging my battery?

how much CCA do people recommend for our v35 coupe batteries since it has so many electronics?
whats the minimum?
I heard the stock was 550CCA!?

2. Buy new battery. $130-ish each time
once it's flat the battery will be dead. cut its life in half, you flat it again, another half, u got quarter left.
basically once it's flat on a V35, there's no point trying to recharge it, just buy a new one and swap out.
the car runs a very power demanding network of electronics, even the light switch won't turn the lights off if there isn't enough power!
how ridiculous... other conventional car wont' turn on lights when there's no power, on v35, it will turn on lights and refuses to turn off
until battery is completely drain out or you pull out the battery terminal in panic.
I thnk what i've learnt in this 12 week is:
1. never buy an import unregistered (buy privately locally or from dealer and just deal with existing rego transfer - much easier)
2. i need a new job that promotes work life balance...
3. i really need a new job that doesn't make me go back to work tomorrow after 5pm and keep working till things done.
(done that before till 1:30am once)
Best of luck mate, hope all goes well evemtually. I htink its worth having one more shot, its is an amazing car, and I always get quite good attention for it, from young people all the way to 70y.o. married couple!
WHat battery did you buy? Just a standard one? recommend any brands?
I actually have a 12 month after market warranty I bought when i got the car from dealer/importer, should I use that or just skip the hassle and spend the $130.

ANyone else having problems with their battery?
I went for a coffee and accidnetly left my lights on for 30min, come back bateryis flat. I get it jump started and drive round for 45 min to charge it, next morning flat.
I boost charge my battery for 5 hours, after that it starts working. The next night i try to drive it...its flat again...
should I:
1. try and charge it for like 12-18 hours on normal charge?
2. buy a new battery?

Finally got my v35 coupe!!!
Silver one, premium pack, 32,000Kms, 18 inch rims, with fog lights and a fujitsubo exhaust.
Very happy with it, didnt come with log books =(, buts its in very good condition, so hopefully the book was just mispalced and clock not wound back.
Overall Happy very happy!
I was gettin cold feet until i picked it up and drove, it, abosolutely love it!!!
Dunno what to do next with it.
Might upgrade the DVD or ipod..hmmm im not into modding cars, but i might wanna extract more power out of it.

I was quoted by just cars for 1950 (with an exhaust mod)
600 standard excess, 1000 care excess, 600 age = 2200 excess in total?
eexcess is a tad steep for my liking, anyone recommened nayone else for a 23 y.o such as myself with no claims or infringmenet history?
I thought maybe shannons,but I heard they only do over 25...

provided we have the imobiliser code, it should be possible to buy this key
take it to nissan to program it and cut it?

I have a fellow there that can do it BUT he doesn't have the unit. I do. if you do not have a spare $450 for it then you may wnat to give it a miss.
I do have another method as well that uses to OE radio and steering controls as well.

what do u mean OE Radio? but would be cool if I could use the steering controls. I dont have $450 lying around unfortunately.
I htought I might as well get ipod integration, cuz a guy down here told me dvd converion will cost 800, might as well spend that and get an ipod conversion.

did you get the keycodes with the car?? without that nissan can program the key to the car and get the remote entry working but will not be able to program the immobiliser side of the key. now without that the car will spin over but not start. the NATS system cuts the fuel via software. IE no immobliser keycodes = no immobiliser data to the ECU = no fuel.
does that make more sense.
the code will be on a steel tag attached to the key if you have it. (write it down if you do!!)

they are standard, though they are darker than mine for some reason.
I reckon they look too good to me to replace,so I've just kept them!
