hey Excess... They are plus 38 offset. When i spoke to the dealer he said they would fit but might need to tuck the gaurds / lip the gaurd a little bit jut to make sure. Im going to wait till the wheels get here on Monday and try them then see if i need to. Was just curious, im sure people have had this done before and was wondering a good place to get them done. (around melb)

Hi all, Just bought some new wheels. The are 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear. On the rear i am fitting 265's and know i need lip the gaurds on my 32. Just wondering if people know of a good place in melbourne to do this..... and also what its worth to do? Any info i really appreciate. Once rims are on ill be posting pics =)

Ok... lol After taking everything apart... checking plugs, clean afm, learning how to use the computer diag...i still couldnt find the problem. Until i found a boost leak which explains over 10psi why it made a weird noise lol And now it runs awesome up till 14psi... Tried 15psi and it wasnt bad but spat a little bit... but still not too bad. im happy! -

Hi all, Had an issue with the RB20det for sometime and havent nutted it out. RB20DET RB25 turbo Cooler Cam Gears 3inch straight through It used to run 14psi happily, but it then started to play up and i couldnt get full power once full boost kicked in, it just felt like i lost 40% of the power and made a wierd intake noise like it was struggling to get air. I changed the boost to 9psi and it runs fine, but anything 10 and over it spits and back fires etc. I changed the plugs thinking they could be blowing out, but same problem.... i have been over the engine bay and cannot find anything thats loose etc. I am also noticing recently that when cold the idle is very iregular and wont sit still, and only sometimes when i first start it up it wont make any power unless i start to make boost. Almost like the struggling air situation i mentions above (weird intake noise) Do you people have any ideas on what these issues could eb caused by? Thanks for your time and help. -
Hey peeps, Bit of trouble im still having trouble pin pointing. I have a r32 with a r34 turbo, cooler, adjustable cam gears, all tuned etc. The car used to run 14psi quite happily. But all of a sudden it started playing up and now i cant run over 10psi without losing a heap of power! It boosts up to 14psi no worries but it loses power strqight away. It still revs up but definatly not as quick as normal. It also makes a weird running sound when doing it. Almost like the car cant get enough Air. I have checked all piping and airbox, connections etc and i cant find an issue. Has any body else had a similar problem or would know what is causing this problem? Thanks heaps!

haha so i start my car yesterday. notice my fuel economy is really good! so i put my boot into it and hey presto i got all my power back! until i hit likr 6250rpm and then it cuts out again. So yeh i dont know.. lol im stumped. It might be knocking and causing the computer to go back to limp mode? Maybe bad fuel has caused it DET. Anyone else got ideas?

and i quote this from the above link: "A faulty Det Sensor or det sensor circuit causes the ECU to go into safety map (retarded timing and rich mixture= poor performance, bad fuel economy " That exlains my problem down to a t. Anyone have a knock sensor for sale?

Nah no pinging... just lack of power in the upper area of rpm. Im thinking it might be a timing issue. And i was thinking if there was something wrong with the knock sensor then it might not be allowing the timing to advance thus causing lack of power and worse fuel economy. seeing as though it is not pinging it may be worth by passing to see if it runs ok.

Hi All, Quick question. If i have a faulty knock sensor on my rb20det, Is there anyway it can retard timing at high revs? Or even prevent the motor from advancing the timing at high rpm? Thanks

haha sorry... Hmmm no one?? Ive got it booked in for the tuners on saturday. Im thinking maybe a sensor or something seeing as my fuel economy is down by like 30% with the other issues aswell?

Hey guys,<BR><BR>Plugs changed.... still no good...<BR><BR>Fuel filter changed... still no good.<BR><BR>Does anyone have a pic of a skyline cat... cause it looks like i have got a 3 inch pipe the whole way and that the cat casig is just welded on the outside so it looks like a cat...<BR><BR>Any other ideas guys?

it has the tiniest flat sport just passed 4K and then smooth as all the way up just no power! I dont know about what spark plugs are in, ive only owned the car 4 or 5 weeks. I havent tried 7psi. The thing that gets me is it was running fine at 14psi up until a couple of weeks ago when it all changed and it was a gradual change also.

Ok im confused all. At first i thought it might of been adjustable cams were out. But i dont think it is that anymore. So i have great power up till 4 k. I hit 3K and boost comes in strong and then hits 4k and it goes no where! Even when im running 13psi instead of 9psi it makes no difference in power i have the same effect. Im thinking its a fuel delivery problem? It feels as if there is not enough fuel after boost has come in to satisfy the amount needed. I have bought a fuel filter to swap because that one looks old. After that im thinking fuel pump? if it isnt enough pressure. I have also noticed my fuel economy go to shit! where i was getting 100k to 1/4 of a tank i now only get about 70km. Could it be a timing issue at all? or a blocked exhaust? thats another thing i was thinking. Any help is appreciated.... mods are: rb20det r34 turbo cooler r34 fuel pump running 9psi and 13psi dump into 3inch all the way

Thanks for your help people... the car used to be tuned at pro-tek so its probably best i take it back there as they probably know more about the car than me atm.. cheers

Yeh i understand that and i know plenty of things can change and that is a terrible way to gauge performance. But the ones i did notice is major lack of power anything from 4K and above and i had trouble passing a au falcon that normally wouldnt have any worries. Yeh i used to work at a car servicing place and i took it back to them. i was there when it was service and it was usual filter + oil and general check over. Makes sense, but would it stop squeaking? Ok so i have booked it in to get tuned. im not sure why it isnt making the power it used to but im taking it to get it tuned by the last people that tuned the car. Hopefully its something simple. but i did notice the car's fuel economy has gone down aswell all at the same time.

ok cool... i might set them at 0 then when i save up some cash ill get them adjusted and tuned. anyone know someone in melbourne who can do this work? Thanks for ur help too

Awesome thanks rb Ok Ill check it out to see. Another question. Im not sure how adjustable cam gears work, well i have an idea. But if they are now out of whack will I have to take it to someone to get them set in the right place? And need to be tuned up again?

Hi All, Have a quick question for you. I bought a skyline that has a few mods, like cooler, r34 turbo, all the usual and also has adjustable cam gears. Now a couple of weeks since i bought the car i heard a squeaking from the cam gear cover, sounded almost like a pully. Well i got the car serviced and about 2days later the noise went away so i didnt worry about it anymore. But now my car seems to lack alot of power from what it used to have. It used to start breaking traction in 1st gear and when i changed to second the car would step out sideways. Now its the mildest churp. So i dont think its just me getting used the the car. The car also seems to have a flat spot now just above 4K and certainly does not pull how a car running properly should. My question is could of something came lose or something gone out of adjustment with the cam gears, its all i can think of? Any help peeps?

spoke to them today. they will fit with a 225 on the front and a 255 on the rear. just incase anyone wants to know.
