  1. Mitch, maybe the guy who sold you the car blew the previous rb26, got a cheap half-cut, threw in that rb26 and then sold it to you? Crazy stuff dude.
  2. Lol Pete. Yeah, we got the papers in the mail years and years ago from the Onkaparinga Council. Everyone hated the name "Huntingdale" as it sounds too much like a American college!
  3. Thanks, Google Images:
  4. Rhys, something like this?: or even:
  5. Lol you lived in Huntfield heights, too?! I've lived there for... 20-odd years now. I basically grew up in the area (went to school at Hackam South primary!). I could write a book about my experiences in that area, but I wont go into detail lol. Quick hot fact: when they were changing the name to Huntfield heights, the other name option was Huntingdale!
  6. Have you posted it on www.nissansilvia.com, too?
  7. All this Uni talk is crazy! I've never been to Uni lol.
  8. Andrew, my boss was only talking about setting up an offset account the other day for a mortgage! I'll have to also look into that! Sapphire, yeah I'm looking at either Sellicks or Aldinga at the moment. Once the Noarlunga train line extension goes ahead (be finished in 2012) then house prices would shoot up I'd say, due to there being more public transport avalible in the area, as the line would get extended to Aldinga/Silver Sands. Where abouts is this Harlem Heights? Is this an estate in Aldinga?
  9. Go all out... triple plate extra heavy duty with fries. Get a extra-muscular left leg.
  10. Yes - 3 demerit points. Although, I've seen talk in the news about reducing it to 2 demerit points... But it's still 3 demerit points. Which means, if you're on your P's... that's all the points you can have! Even getting another 1 demerit point will be license loss Edit: Ruby, no license suspension anymore. Just demerit points. Has happened to a countless number of my mates. One even got done for a faded P plate, which the cop just put down as "No P Plates"
  11. When you said you haven't started up the car in a year... did you simply wash the engine bay and then start up the car for the very first time in a year without manually cranking over the engine to build oil pressure? Or did you do all of this before you washed the engine bay?
  12. Lol they don't even have a 1994 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR listed... They must only list Australian-delivered Skyline models. Hmmm...
  13. Guilt Toy, Sydney is quite different to what Adelaide is in regards to defects, etc. I understand that over there, or in Victoria, you have random EPA testing? In which a cop can just note down your number plate, send you a letter and you're required to have your exhaust tested? Plus you have highway patrols, normal patrols, etc. and various forms of undercover police.
  14. So many people selling their 'lines
  15. Spotted IGTR32I around the port Noarlunga backstreets at about 7pm tonight.
  16. Bingo on the clear distinction between major and minor defects... How is a non-secured pod filter a major defect? It doesn't have an effect on the overall structure or safety on the car... can't make the car go faster if it's secured or unsecured... That's just an example.
  17. Has anyone read the NSW or Vic forums on here? I know there's a cop who's a member and who often participates in that sub-forum and provides advice/answers law/cop/defect related questions. Obviously, it's done in his spare time... but that might be beneficial for us to have Neil on board? There's nothing he can't see being a Guest, anyway...
  18. +1 Howie. I've also had experiences with my local police... most have been good and a small handful have been difficult. I even got pulled over by a decent girl cop the other week when I was driving the GTR. Did a license check + bretho + plate check, all came up fine, and on my way I went. Didn't get asked one question about any defects... and I even did a stupid thing of making it look like I was trying to avoid the cop car (turned into the street she was trying to turn out of)... but I actually had to drive down that street lol. And props to SAPOL employing some talent! This cop was pretty decent on the eye lol. But, back to the subject... Also, is it possible to maybe see which suburb is more of a 'defect hotspot'? Meaning, maybe there's a trend and one suburb have a lot more defects than others...
  19. No worries, Mitch! Completely understand
  20. I'm so sick of hearing this "a cop can defect you on suspicion if he wants to..." HOW is this legal?! How can they possibly do this?! Is it really a law?! What, so it's okay to pull over someone, spend 30 minutes looking for a possible defect - can't find one, so they blatantly abuse their level of power and think "Yeah, why not" and slap on a sticker for a suspicion of defect!!! Well, if that's the case... I suspect all those people down the beach I saw tonight have committed a murder... but they can't be sent to court on suspicion of murder, can they?! No. So why is it that they're allowed to say, after thoroughly checking over a innocent car, say "Yeah, I reckon you're packing a set of twin low-mounts in this beast... I'm going to send you to Regency" and then slap on the sticker to a little Toyota Corolla?! It's a slap in the face. It's not right. Can this please be raised? The laws/opinions/how often it happens, with this suspicion of defect crap? Can someone also ask in what regards are we allowed to voice our opinion when having the car checked over? I once got defected for a boost gauge on my dash in the crash zone. Okay, fair defect. But the cop said "You have 2 tacho's here mate..." and I said "Oh, that's a boost gauge" and he instantly came back with "Don't give me attitude mate. I know what I'm talking about okay. If you proceed with that, I'll make you tow this car to the inspection." How is that fair?! He asked me a question, I co-operated with no attitude, and I got that?! Are we permitted to even speak or make corrections when having the car looked over?!
  21. It's hard to say, Mitch... R33 GTR's are going for roughly 24 - 28k and that's with proper GTR equipment on it (4WD, etc). Is the engine swap engineered? Got the papers? That'll be a major selling point. Condition of the body? Rust on chassis rails? Tyre condition? Rego'd? Is the engine bay resprayed in the same colour as the car? Air-con working? Km's (body and engine)? Gearbox good? I'd say... 18 - 20k? But you'd get bargained down... At the end of the day, it's still a 33 GTS-t
  22. Spotted a Bayside Blue R34 GTR with Euro-style plates going up Henly Beach road. Judging by the smoke coming out the exhaust, he sure was giving it a bit of a blip! I was in the government-plated 380 going past
  23. Haha +1 Ruby. Pete for Prezzy.
