  1. Lol Krishy. SAU:SA group buy! Woo!!
  2. Yep very true. And hopefully your car isn't 2 chassis's welded together... as my mate found out after getting into a crash and trying to make a claim!
  3. Dry ice intercooler, anyone?
  4. Dohmar, you're talking about this? http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/de...pe=300&UID=
  5. Stuff the cable, go all out and get this: http://www.greddy.com/products/display/?Ca...;SubCategory=56
  6. Yep, spot on JRM. They can only do a limited amount of functions/data read-out options... but having the ECU codes is handy! Hicas diagnostics can be done without any cables... see: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/HI...cas+diagnostics
  7. List everything! They couldn't care if it's defectable. I'm worried about renewing my insurance! I have a heap of mods to list, plus a few other changes. Ah!
  8. Adam, generally speaking: Paging System-styled alarms - Work well in a close radius. Won't work well 'deep' indoors or over long distances. Meaning, you'll receive the signal/notification when you get back into range. Good feature to have, though. Just make sure you get a Aussie-standard alarm system with all the usual goods. And get it installed properly the first time. And, don't be stupid and stick up "This car is protected by xxxxx alarm system" stickers on your car window!! You'd be amazed by the sheer amount of cars that have this! It's basically advertising what alarm you have installed, making it alot easier for people! Example: "Oh, he has xxxx alarm installed... that means I can do this xxxxxxx to get in!"
  9. Look at http://www.ecutalk.com/interface.aspx for the cable. You can search for it on Google, too, but not many Aussie companies produce the cable. Then, you're free to download Consult-compatible software! Hook the cable into the laptop and ODB1 port on your car, and you can then pull off error codes and clear them.
  10. Would the gel-style batteries still need a vent in the boot?
  11. BP Ultimate 98. Paid $188.7 a litre for that... a few months ago... on Kangaroo Island...
  12. You mean, the actual Consult device used by Nissan Workshops?! If you can find it, pay through your anus for it. I doubt anywhere would sell it. Otherwise, buy a consult cable, get a laptop, install the Consult software onto the laptop, connect the cable to the laptop and BANG... you have a larger version of it at a 1/18th of the price.
  13. +1 to GT Autosound. And yeah, wouldn't bother with a turbo timer... just search Turbo Timer on SAU and you'll get the same answer. I quote from the Nissan Skyline owners Manual: "If you've been driving for a extended period over 80kmph, when you reach your destination, let your engine idle in neutral for 15 - 30 seconds". Meaning, if you've been flogging your car and testing to see if you can actually reach that 320km/h mark on your Nismo speedo, let your car cool down after!
  14. Lol!! Gotta love high performance imports equipped with baby restraints!
  15. Ah yes... I was put on hold and transferred to 3 different truck drivers that day! And then I got a phone call a week later: "Daniel, your car has been delivered to a house. A lady with a bunch of kids took delivery of it." That got me a bit worried until you confirmed it got delivered to the correct location lol.
  16. Haha the truck bringing my GTR to Adelaide from Sydney broke down in Bordertown! When I called the truck driver to get a ETA, he said "You can either walk to Bordertown and drive your car home, or you can come bring a brand new radiator for me... You'll get the car when I get the f*cking truck on the road" I was like "...okay." A week later, it arrived in one piece! Hooray!
  17. Yep due to a few larger 'traders' going sour... Glad they're finally clamping down on this and putting a start/end date to these group buys!
  18. Haha and to think about it, supermarket managers and retail chain managers don't get paid much, either. I'm currently on more than my old boss at Kmart! But it depends on the 'ranks' too... It also depends on what trade you wanted to get into... eg. Hairdressing... my ex was one, finished her apprenticeship, and still earned barely anything. Even opening your own salon is over-rated these days. But this is all about being a mechanic, so I'll get back on topic! Anyone know if there's much money to be made if you ended up opening your own workshop after you paid all the wages, leasing, etc etc?
  19. Hopefully I'll be there... not in the GTR, though.
  20. Yeah Dohmar, 32's use ODB1 and the 33 and 34's use ODB2 as a diagnostic port.
  21. 21, Just Cars, Rating 4 (pffft - never claimed anything ever!), $1300 a year.
  22. Hicas lock bar will fail Regency... and then you'll need to install it back on and have it engineered. Boostworx will pull the codes off it, but they get someone in a little van to come around to do it, as Shaun doesn't have the equipment on site. There's no real Hicas-savvy workshop, but there'd be plenty of mobile auto electricians with the diagnostic tool that simply plugs in to pull the codes off... If it's going crazy, jack up the car, make sure all 4 wheels are off the ground, turn on the car, and the hicas computer will reset itself. It's designed to do this when it senses that no wheels are touching the ground.
  23. Is that the N1's, Mike?
  24. And another! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/R32-SKYLINE_W0QQite...%3A1|240%3A1318 Scroll down to the question a user has asked the buyer... F*cking strange.
