i will ring jpc 2 morrow but they wont have anything new
-
just tried searching but no luck so i thought i would dredge up this old thread.
where in perth can i walk in & buy a good steering wheel.
3 spoke sparco suede or similar?
ive checked go gear & revolution racegears sites but they list sfa
i know jpc might have something s/hand but can anyone else suggest anywhere?
-
change mine to NWR31 please.
thanks

i have a rb25 turbo with sfa shaft play & no issues at all.
will be coming off my car in a few weeks & it has the better rb20 actuator
probably depends where you are tho?

RB20 det sensors are different. So they simply do not work.
Its not necessary to change the sensors providing the tune is good you don't have to worry. I didn't change det sensors for quite some time.
Just keep an eye out for a pair of 26 sensors when they pop up grab.
just found out from the seller that he still uses the stock rb20 knock sensors with this rb26 fc & he says they work fine!
thats a relief

sorry people this is sold.
for some reason i cant log on to sau at work since the site upgrade :|
thanks

Unsure exactly what you mean by extra wire.
The SR20 uses 2 wires just like the rb26 does.
They sensors look identical apart from their part number. Most likely just slightly different tuning of the knock sensor?
Its quite possible the sr20 might work. Possibly the 26 knock sensors are just a little more sensitive?? unsure
yeah im not sure what he meant by that either, anyway ive found the part numbers for sr/rb26 & they are different.
22060 30P00 - SR20DET knock sensor
22060 05U00 - RB26DETT knock sensor
so im not going to risk it, has to be R32gtr sensors or nothing.
wish me luck finding a cheap set lol..
cheers

consists of a wideband O2 sensor (which can be fitted in place of your standard one)
i disagree with that, the sensor needs to be about 3 feet away from the turbine outlet according to my wb02 manual.
thats where i fitted mine, also the angle & location around the pipe is important for sensor life.
cheers
-
yeah im still checking from others that have bought sr sensors & have been told the extra wire on them is for when used on a rb26, so was just asking again if anyone else knew anything.
yeah i looked under there but cant see em, must have to get at them underneath the car.
thanks again for your help
-
so rb20's & 26's both have 2 knock sensors? (would make sense to me being a 6cy, but just want to make sure)
are they easy to change? i had a look & seems they might be right up under the intake manifold?
also ive been told sr20det use the same sensor?
cheers

Item: RB25 turbo
Age: dont know
Condition: seems excellent working order
Price: $350 when out of car or $250 now & i hold it for you till its removed
To Fit: (What car) bolt on anything with a rb25 or rb20 or others with more mods
Location: perth
Contact: andy o4o5 o6o 124
Comments:
eoi the rb25 turbo off my 31.
it has absolutley no shaft play in any direction, blows no smoke or oil or has any issues i can see.
it also spins very freely, spools up real nice & makes no weird noises.
comes with oil feed line, rb20 actuator & outlet elbow.
its still on my car but will be coming off in about a months time.
will be asking $350 when it comes off, but if someone wants to give me $250 now & is prepared to wait for it they can have it for that price when it comes off.
if they are not happy with it or dont want it when it comes off i will give them all their money back.
im not real fussed either way.

hmm so what will happen if i just use my stock knock sensor? is it too sensitive with ths fc or not sensitive enough?
is it really necessary for me to change the sensor? can i just rely on the tuner using his knock detection equip/cans?
thanks
-
Duncan, im in perth (sorry should have had that in my avatar info)
im sure there are tuners here that can tune the fc for me eventually when im ready.
cheers
-
i will try
cheers
-
a perth member has offered to look at this fc with his datalogit for me so looks like it will all be sorted out now.
thanks for everyones input, ive learned quite a bit so far.
cant wait to get it now
cheers
-
ok, so my best bet is to not reset/init but maybe tweak the maps a bit.
since i have a wideband installed i might see if anyone in perth can help adjust the basic tune to enable it to be driven.
or would it be possible to have the tune reloaded from when it ran stock injectors & afm??
thanks for the quick reply Cubes & everyone

Thanks Paul, im a little lost with this at the moment, hopefully 'Cubes' might be able to clarify.
Performance Shops in Perth - a joke?
in Western Australia

well yeah if i cant find one in perth i will have to look elsewhere.
i know it might sound silly but i would much prefer to just go somewhere myself & buy one.
hopefully go gear or rev race gears web site is way out of date, but if anyone has actually seen a shop in perth that doesnt sell autotechnia type shit, please let me know.
also im looking for a jap boost gauge, 52mm black face, cant find one of them here either, it shits me. i dont mind paying more buying local but no one seems to stock anything.
