  1. yeah seen this around the RS liberty was fake and has been impounded i had that ute trying to race me i played along as soon as the lights went green i took off so slow and he looked like the idiot then the next lights we went through he turned on his lights to go trough the red and then turned them off as soon as he went through and continued cruising

Aye dodgy bastards i see this all the time at night if the street looks relatively empty and there are red lights the cop car switches on its redblue lights then passes the red light and switches it off again.

  2. Its all fine and dandy until you take into account that it is ONLY up to $10,000. Then due to your age you have ~$3500 worth of excesses to deduct from it, but if its a much cheaper car sure. Only losing $3,500 from your $10,000 market value car is cheaper than full comp if its just to cover theft and if you did have full comp you would have been paying that $3,500 extra anyway and then have to pay it again but you don't get the other benefits of full comp.

Man i understand fck all about insurances!! Teach me! What is this excesses that people pay ? Why you need to pay them. Whats a premium. !! How does this insurance thing even work when your paying it, making a claim etc.

  3. Thats the beauty of being an old fart... it only costs me around $900 with bonus glass protection (any single pane of glass a year can be replaced without impacting NCB with no excess) :D:blush::)

Ill just get my old man to get it and then if i crash ill run out of vehicle and call my dad and get him to replace me as the driver :D Or if im seviourly decapitated then . ;(

What about that justcars or that car enthusiast one that they showed

  4. Sorry... I'm not trying to be difficult here, I'm trying to help - you're not reading the small print correctly. 20 Million? Sounds to me like its is only Liability i.e. personal injury using their Compulsory Third Party (CTP) as part of their registration. This does not cover property damage to your vehicle. In other words "20 million in damages for you breaking your neck", not your car.

If you have Third Party Property insurance, no damage is covered to your car. If the other party is insured, and they're honest people, then you're okay - BUT if they want to get out of paying an excess and higher premiums in future or won't accept fault... well GOOD LUCK with getting your support, because the result will be their insurance company vs one small individual = where can I get the money to fight this in court? oh crap... its cheaper to fix the car myself.

Please talk to NRMA and understand the difference between CTP and TPP. Then for your own sake, compare TPP with Comprehensive.

Lol im talking about TPP. I was saying since if you crash into someone else your TPP covers them like you said, but if they crash into your their TPP should cover you as well, but seems like your saying that they wouldnt cover me. Maybe im also not an honest person ? Nah im kidding.

O and its damage to property like hooses and shit

    "Liability cover

If you cause an accident that damages someone else's property, such as their car, building or fence, we'll pay up to $20 million (including GST) for the damage caused by your car, and we'll cover the legal costs involved."

So means if someone else damages my car with their car and they have this 3rd party they should cover me yes no ?

But the uninsured motorist damage is only max 3k lol.

  5. haha it just sounds more and more like what i did back when i was 18. I bought the R33 after 'calculating' all the costs and weighing up that i could afford it but there are so many variables that i didn't take into account, the main one being your quality of life (things you can do on the weekends with mates etc.) lowering because you have to pinch pennies to pay for the car and the associated costs. If i could go back i would not buy the car, thats not to say i don't love the car, but i would have done exactly what has been said here time and time again. Hindsight is a bitch

If you're like me though you won't listen to this so just think about whether you are buying the car emotionally or logically. A Toyota Camry will be cheaper to run, cheaper insurance, cheaper parts, cheaper everything really and will also attract a lot less attention (talk to a few people about the 'safety' of some of the uni carparks).

Haha my life is wake up 8AM then school then gym then work and come home at 11:30PM and i work on weekends also so no time to spend money with mates. Except holidays.

Seems like everyone regrets buying their car lol. Im worried now whether i should buy the car cause ill have lots of money but nothing to spend it on and ill become a boring person and then end up spending money too wisely rest of my life by buying crappy 1 litre cars.

  6. 3rd party property only covers damage you do to other property, it will never cover damage to your property (car) whether you are at fault or not.

No but the other car that hit you will cover you with their insurance and i read that if the car that hit you wasn't insured the company of insurance can pay up to 20million dollars in damages to your car (from NRMA site) i think they sue they other driver.

  7. Be careful, some friendly advice a comin' your way

3rd party property insurance does not cover ANY damage to your car, not ever... including fire, theft, coined, egged. You wanna hope you don't meet any roos or have someone back into you in a carpark. If you don't have comprehensive insurance, good luck getting support if you have a "not at fault" accident, it will be just their word against yours and you will be powerless to fight it.

Fcking shit bags that egg and brick cars or key them. I read that 3rd party property should cover you if its their fault like if they ram into the back of your car. So wouldnt it be the same as in a carpark where if they back into your car its their fault ? O unless they run away ! That would suck.

And as for the roos i hope the cull disintegrates them all.

And i hear there is also problems with comprehensive like they will try to not cover you, or only cover part of it and having to pay the excessess and premiums etc.

  8. just buy what ever you want and catch a bus its easier and cheaper and your precious line will be safe and sound all week until you let it out on the weekends :)

I couldnt handle driving another auto ever again, not cool. N/A is even less cool :)

But do consider your future ie house etc before you buy :S

I catch a frickin bus and it smells. 1.5hours + to get home from work and thats only ~19km away but using just as a weekend car is good since i work on sat and sun and the buses is shit and gotta cut my hours down.

Auto's are nice though :D I heard just get a 2nd stage shift kit on the tiptronic r34 and its all good to go but a manual is harder to find.

I calculated that 3rd party + rego (the human damaging 3rd party) is like 600$ and 3rd party property damage is an extra 480$~ per year. Not too bad. Just 3 weeks of work.

Fuel is a bitch so if i drive ~40km a day 7 days a week (usually never peak hour) it will be like 280km a week and i hope to drive like a grandma apart from the occasional road rage that happens. :)

And would it be possible to get those rims in second hand cause they looks heap sweet.

    Bye

  9. dude throw that 18k into a managed fund....i got a n/a r34....i love it!! but im spending too much money on it for mods and all. oyu can say youll keep it stock ALL YOU WANT, but it wont happen haha. throw it into a managed trust fund or high interest savings account....id personally get some govt bonds....and watch your money ggggrrrrRRROWWW.

    well..

    n/a r34 now.....or r34 gt-r in a few years time?

    take your pick.

Yeah ill get a GTT. :D And dammit stop making me not get a skyline or ill be driving a starlet or a 3cylinder for 5 years. And if i did get the GTT the mods i would get would be 18-19" rims i wonder how much these cost ->

thats evo cams car i found in the photo section.

    S004.jpg

and ofcourse some awesome soundsystem with a few speakers, subs, amp and thats probably the furthest ill go o and exhaust. :) Then maybe extractors, bigger front pipes hmm maybe podfilter and boost controller a ECU, pro tires etc.

But nah ill stop at the exhaust. :(

And currently my cash is in a high interest account and last month i got 38$ from interest for nothing, kinda good. If i have 18k in there it would be ~100$ a month from nothing, and if i keep working ill have 40k before i finnish uni then can move out :/. But if i get a car that will be like 5k at the end but would be worth it.

  10. Why you getting a Auto? I guess manual 34's are hard to find and they always want more money.

Yeah by the looks of things and what ive heard the manuals are usually more expensive, more K's and usually been more thrashed. And nothing better than using the tiptronic and sticking a stage 2 shift kit for harder and faster shifts on it because i think the tiptronics dont instantly change gears they think before the right time comes and switch then which can be a few seconds. Manual would be nice though so im learning manual for my P's now so just in case the time to buy one comes if a nice manual is available i can go for it, but is it 1 year before they give you choice of removing the auto restriction from your p plates.

  11. Hmm sweet!

    Australian Capital Territory

The ACT imposes no restrictions on the type of car that may be driven by a P plater -- P platers can even participate in an optional Road Ready provisional licence "P off" course that allows proven responsible drivers to remove P plates within six months of gaining a licence.

Guess ill be getting that GTT after all. :)

Btw how much extra fuel would the turbo car eat compared to N/A say if you are driving like a normal granny and not hitting too much revs / throttle.

  12. This is best show! Except the "junk" they bring in i doubt is real junk since for every episode they always get specific parts in there, so the show places those parts before each episode to make things fair and easier. I miss how in the first episodes none of the engines and batteries could barely work and took ages to get started now it seems they all run fine.

  13. erm

that some woman is a friend of mine.

Her car is always featured at autosalon. Looks awesome in real life.

just because you dont approve, it does not mean the rest of the world disapproves with you. Each to their own mate.

Strong hypocrite. Where in my post did i mention anything about the world agreeing with me, its my opinion. Don't get mad because she is your friend.
