any readouts with PSI over RPM ? any reason they cut it at like 160kph? pretty sure redline should be closer to 180-190 (cant be certain in R34's)

Need Good Mechanic/workshop To Weld My Head Fro Rb30det
Craved replied to RU34ME's topic in New South Wales
might wanna state a location of where you are, so you dont get suggestions for other states etc -
why not run to separate feeds to 2 separate rails.. flowing to only 3 cyls each.. only an idea..
-
pink label is the S2, pretty sure they have only 1 earth hence the wiring difference.. not sure which earth is missing though.
-
most general concensus i have read is to go for the R33 GTR oil pump with the crank collar from Pro Engines.
-
thanks paul, i knew i had seen it somewhere lol.
-
is that 2x0.75 per bank? when i take the head off the RB30 on monday i'll measure the feed and see what size it is, would have to be pretty spot on for the copper rod to go in there right? like only just fit... Joel, are you saying that there is more pressure going to the head, since there are no piston squirters to reduce the pressure in the system?
-
he is left hand drive .. so the steering column etc would be in the way unlike like yours...
-
i remember reading somewhere on the great wide interweb the the intake cam could be adjusted manually while still running the VCT. is this possible? cos when i think about it i cant see how. tossing up between running VCT with the Poncams Vs non VCT with adjusted intake cam gear..
-
im with joe, it may be half the price.. but wont be the best support if you continue to modify things... then again the RB20det has a programmable ECU.. so you could go that way instead..
-
im running sard 550cc's and had no issues with them .. can be more tricky to install.. but once in correctly,. no issues

Joel ... this is from the tomei website http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...l-lub_rset.html says at the bottom that the restrictors should only be used on the RB25 when using solid lifters, and not with lash type... thoughts?
-
Ahhh yes, datalogit would be awesome to get.. i still have to figure out how to turn the closed loop back on on the pfc.. things its in etc and the top one. but not sure what the jap symbol should look like.. only reason i think its not on, it because the AFR guage doesn't "bounce" when cruising like it used to.. hmm more reading, i should be working lol
-
Hahahaha yeah, i hope i dont need anything else thats the thing. and where are you taking the PFC controller to need 60cm more lol i find the std ones too long *runs to check greenline just incase always under the inpression the tomei one came with it, i like how greenline shows the CR change with each of the different gaskets . good info to keep for working out what CR i'll run later.
-
oh dear hahaha... wonders if some one bought a large amount, the cost of shipping would be heaps cheaper.. and yes, hate it when shipping = more... could just use normal envelope for these though lol just checking if the ones for RB26 will fit the rb25, as none listed for the rb25 on greenline.
-
hahahah. yeah . im using 600psi hydrolic hoses for everything .. from Enzed think they are coated for use with fuels. think i'll wanna replace every water hose in my engine bay, after the turbo install i had 3 lines bust.. hate trying to fix them.. always hard to get to!
-
HAHAHA well arent i silly .. as i only have bare block, i think i was refering to the knock sensors .. the green things near 5-6 and 2-3 Cyls. cant see on my car what they connect too, and they look like hose connections.. well the info on the hose connections on the thermostat i didn't know.. GROMMET - is that a brand or a type of hose?
-
yeah, i have to braze (could be braise) a lug into the sump for the oil temp guage anyway, so i'll just pop another one in there for the head return, better off not risking it, if it COULD cause an issue. once its in, i dont wanna take it back out lol
-
pretty sure that vans have different rules, they can paint their windows etc. spoke to my tinter, who did my car ion 5% all round, thats the only reason he can get that tint, and he cant get large amounts cos the sales of 5% were monitored..
-
oh bugger lol, got a supplier trying to chase the tomei ones from JPN, see what that turns up. did you see the question about the heater feeds?
-
Joel, did you happen to remember the other company in AUS that sells the restrictors?
-
i'll flip the rb25 block i have over and see where that taped line goes to, if its just into the sump then im guessing it would be fine direct into the sump on the RB30 .. just thinking about the volumes of these return lines, if the volume gets too high it might cos a block in the system and not allow the oil to return fast enough.. just a thought.
-
just got the g/bos off the rb30, checked it out, there is definately no where to tap into on the rb30 block for the return line on the rb25det head.. also noticed that the heater line connectors (the green agrden hose type fittings) from the rb25 have the screw points but are not open, im guess you have to drill those out to get the water feeds. anyone be interested in better side shots of the 2 engines next to each other for comparison? can take some once i go get another engine stand.
-
double checked on a mates R33 while on lunch, there is a fitting tapped into the block just behind the power steering pump, have to look to see if there is a flat surface on the RB30 block that matches that can be drilled out to supply the drain location.. found a side on pic of the rb30 block on meggala's site doesn't look like there is an available point to tap into for the return line... perhaps just straight into the sump itself, or into the turbo return.

i'll still be running VCT, hence my research .. but very good and valid point!!
