  1. I know it's not much to go by, but I'm hoping it's enough. I don't know a whole lot about GTR's so I was wondering if you guys could tell me if there was any reason to believe that this isn't a real GTR? And if it's not, could you please point out why for me? Thanks in advance!

(There's another photo of it from the side but it's from a bit more of a distance. If u feel it will help more, let me know and I'll post it)

  2. Fire extinguisher; bout $20 from an auto parts store. Bracket material $5 from bunnings. They're quite small and we can mount it under your passenger seat in the front so that it doesn't stick out like dogs balls. You can remove it in 2 minutes but I just leave mine in there cause it actually looks kind of cool. Come to my factory and I'll help you install for free if you're coming to a DECA - just keep an eye on the events section because when the thread is posted there are 50 entry spots and they usually fill up pretty quickly (2-3 days).

    Cheers.

If there's a fire in your car, it'll take you two whole minutes to remove the fire extinguisher? I wouldn't go to see Birds, Kurtis, if it's going to take that long to take out...install it yourself :P

  3. as long as they fill their books for the day.. and obviously its easier to book defects n stuff rather then assault and drink driving and shit

so ey... we making their job easier who cares about safety of others true?

That's what else I was wondering...do cops (TMU's, especially) have any kind of quotas to meet for the day/week (whatever the case may be) ? Coz it damn sure feels like it...and it wouldn't be hard to meet either, the way they continually pull everyone over...

  4. That 80km fella claims that pilling people over and issuing defects is not a biased activity yet all the bogans flogging it around in their holdens, drink driving n throwing bottles at cars n starting fights almost always get away or just cop a slap on the wrist while we do nothing n cop the ass end

Coz we're easy targets. They catch us as "offenders" even if we haven't done anything and slap us with defects. Cases which need to be "followed up" or "investigated" isn't always something that's going to happen coz they know they probably won't catch the offender(s) anyway and so don't bother...

I'd hate to think that really is the case but it's hard not to think it...

  5. Also refer to the above comment about perception/revenue etc. You will find that also plays a rather influencing factor and reasoning behind the declining respect for Police. I will freely say I have greatly reduced respect for Police and their

Am I tired or is that sentence not complete?

Also, well said re: the other stuff in the same post...

  6. Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately there are too many stupid drivers that give our cars a bad name.

The two times i have been pulled over, i showed respect had a chat with the officer and was dealt with in an exceptional manner.

Bottom line - Legal car, don't be stupid on the road, show respect and you will be fine.

Thank you 80kph for explaining your thought process

I wish I could agree with you and call that the bottom line and have that be the end of the story. But I don't agree. 80Kph said it well. Cops are humans too...they have their good and bad days also...the same way we do. Unfortunately...when they have bad days...they can take it out on us also as much as we can take our frustrations out on them.

I always respect the officer. I'm never stupid on the road. Yet I got defected one night while stuck on the monash, emergency lane, hazards blinking waiting for a tow truck to pick me up. He was a prick from start to finish. Why? Coz he can. I've had good cops also, don't get me wrong. But pricks are out there whether you like it or not. Despite what 80Kph says or thinks, respecting cops won't always get respect back.

And birds...you mentioned before all those people who have "never had a problem with cops before" -- I agree with you...I'm sure it's only just a matter of time...

  7. Cheers again Nismoid,

Hmmm can i still claim it under tax if it is purchased in the US? if so i might also have to grab me an i7 whilst I am there. Which means OF COURSE i wouldhave to ask you what would be a highly recommended mboard to go with the i7 for gaming. Asus rampage 2 has some good reviews for Oc'ing. Dam i hope i can claim it for tax (for work purposes of course:-) )

Oh so tempting, its meant to be for my honeymoon but i can tell (if i can claim it on tax) then this will turn into a PC shopping spree.

So anyone used eye finity yet that can also help me witht he game play viewing question?

Good question!! Anyone know the answer?

  8. Sorry to say but I find it hard to understand why seeing a skyline on the road would lead police to believe that the driver is:

    First - Intoxicated/Drugged

    or

    Second - Un-licensed/Suspended

both of which are above your third point of having illegal mods...which I'd have thought would be number one on your reasons list...and your list would have finished there with nothing else to follow...

  9. there is money/drugs hidden in the spare tyre

    You'd think, wouldn't you?

Just HOW much sentimental value is there to this car? If you did this car up with ur old man and he passed away (which I seriously hope is not the case) then i'd understand. If you lost your virginity in the car, then I might still understand...

But if it's none of the above (or at least something just as intense) and if money is no issue to getting this car back, then just buy another car and do it up the same way?

(Not trying to sound like a dick...just my thoughts...)

  10. Justin - yes base model GTR , I Have previously owned a 99 model v- spec and honestly i could not tell the difference besides rear diffuser and mfd display , other then that drives the same

Ah ok then fair enough, just wanting to ask coz of the Vspec II Nür badge on the back, that's all

  11. Wow. People need to read my posts better.

    A) I agreed and said exhausts do NOT need to be loud to make power. I was comparing a loud (see loud, not unrestricted) exhausts usefulness to a fake turbo. Neither do anything but add noise for show.

    B) I only said a fake turbo that sounded EXACTLY like a turbo spooling and releasing would kind of cool (and I guarantee if it were available and not expensive 90% of the P platers out there would agree). None of this whistler shit they have now. I know I'm going to get flamed on this point, but like I said; I love the sound of a a turbo spooling and a nice BoV, I agree it is kind of wanky, but if I cannot afford the turbo model or an unable to drive the turbo model (P plate laws) then I'd consider this till I could upgrade properly.

    C) I have driven plenty of turbo charged cars. In fact I've spent quite a few hours behind the wheel of an Evo 7 and R33 gtst.

The other point I was trying to make is I can't understand why people buy turbo cars and then never use them! I'm not attacking anyone, I just fail to see the logic behind buying a powerful performance car and never actually enjoying it - I don't consider the occasional squirt from 0-100 properly enjoying a car.

Ah HAH! So you DO want a turbo car to drive around everyday in...including going to work and taking it to the shops...despite questioning this WHOLE time what the point of us turbo owners are doing with a turbo car in the first place!

  12. you f**king aussies with your "sex spec" translated to english it means "need for speed car" as in the cars you end up with in need for speed pro street '' pay all this money for a high watermark car . pay more money for a "race engine" . pay someone to put a big body kit . pay a shit load for 20 inches of gay ness tucked right under the guards . and then full the whole boot with some vinyll covered boxes . then cover the interior with material from austin powers . yeah these are show cars but whats the piont if they are all the f**kING same . yeah they got different colors and diff wheels .wohoo

its sad really because its all you ever see in your mags when there are websites that contain more knowledge and experience than i could ever hope to have

Most of us on the forum don't need to pay more for a "race engine". Most of us, afterall have "race breed" engines from factory which is what RB stands for after all...right? :D (Relax, douches, I know that's not what it stands for...)

On a serious note...did anyone else get kinda lost reading this? I don't understand what being aussie has anything to do with...well...anything to do with this topic. I thought we were talking about JDM here? Not modifying a car to make it look like something from Fast and Furious. Which then would probably make it far from JDM in the first place...

I think you have a problem, perhaps, with people who "rice" their cars?
