hey guys! Sorry its been a while have been so caught up with work and studies haven't really had much time to spend online or on cars sadly But i have managed to FINALLY get mine trouble free and tuned. How is all the rb30's out there? Hope all is going well for the festive season. On a quick note has anyone has issues with the speedometer drive/cable on the bigger rb25det gearbox? For some reason my gearbox keeps shredding the plastic part at the end of the drive, It was all fine until i took it out onto the open road sitting around 100km this is the second time its happened and was wondering if someone knew a way around it?

I think I may just opt for keeping the 4 stud hubs and upgrading to bigger brake discs and using gtst 4 pot fronts with good brake pads all round, seems to be the cheapest effective way. What do you guys think? I mainly want it to stop ok compared to now lol -

hey thanks guys really appreciate this. So other then the pre 88zx/zr I really dont have a choice except to go custom? My reasons in doing the upgrade are because my plans with the car is to get somehwere around 500bhp so I would like to stop reasonably well for my own safety also wider wheels choice will be nice. Would it be alright if I stuck to four stud all around and upgraded my front discs from 260mm to the biggest the 4 pot calipers will take? What are you thoughts on this? -
Hey guys Iv been working on my project r31 passage gt, and now its time to look at brake and suspension. I was wondering if someone out there has done the conversion on the 4 door r31 and what it takes. I am able to get a hold of r32 5 stud gear would that be enough? What kind of work will it take? My main reason for the 5 stud is I'm keen on getting bigger brakes for a bit more power and better handling/traction while I'm at it lol. All tips/suggestions and comments will be much appreciated.

As per title, mint as condition have pics avail at request looks to have been reconditioned at some stage. I'm taking offers as I need the money perfect for rb30 conversions is a non vct head. Willing to ship, I'm in Hamilton N.Z.

heya mate what kind of r31 is it? WOuld like the interior console parts please, gearbox surround if possible too, and couple of other little parts just to clean mine up a little. Whats the interior like?

As far as i know it is a spec R as that's what i was told when i bought it (are there any physical signs) and on the web Blitz prices are identical for silver and black, it is in U.S dollars? Are you just after 1 controller? If i am able to keep the power meter i-d i will as this was one of the things which attracted me to the set up.

hey guys hows it going? Hope things are all coming along nicely, been a while since i been on thought i drop a quick comment and update on my 30 build. The gearbox crossmember is now in, have also made up a plate for the power steering pump motor is complete took the car for a drive down the road runs fairly rough, as soon as boost came on pretty sure it started leaning out hard!!! I was planning on running the motor in with all standard rb20det gear including turbo and ecu but dont think having the rb20det ecu is a good idea. I have gotten some bigger injectors, a fuel pressure reg and fuel pump. The fuel pump is installed but not the other gear. Looking to either chip the ecu for the run in process or to go aftermarket unsure as funds are extremely low, but what do you guys think comparing a greddy e-manage ultimate to the new link g4 ecu?? thanks for the imput guys cant wait to finally start rolling again been too long! p.s. does anyone know who does decently priced ecu's or may have second hand aftermarket ecu's avail. Preferably to be in N.Z but worst comes to worst will get something from aus.

thanks guys will get onto it tomorrow. also another quick question which i just remembered... any/all of you that are using the n1 oil pump what is generally your oil pressure readings? When i first started up the motor it was maxed out at 8 and came down to about 6-7 (3/4) up. I'm not using a crank collar as suggested due to time and difficulty during assembly.

hey guys, just a quick update. Made a great start to the year with my rb30 build. Managed to get a couple of mates giving me a hand and had the motor fully built and in the car running although it wasnt all smooth sailing. Had huge issues with the cambelt even with relocating the tensioners i am now using a mitsubishi belt. Just a few questions still remaining which i hope you guys will help me out on... 1. I am using the rb25det big box in my r31 and have issues with my cross member, the r33 crossmember is too small and the r32 crossmember fits bit isnt tall enough for the box to rest on...(if that makes any sense) 2. When i started the car up for the first time excessive noise was coming from the head, im guessing its the lifters well at least hoping anyway as it was making a slight grinding noise, is this normal? 3. Power steering bracket, which is the suitable bracket to use is there one that bolts straight on or do you have to customise it to fit? cheers for the help

hey just a quick question, i have just recently bought a brand new n1 oil pump will i also need to buy the jun crank collar too? and second thing i bought my oil pump from a Japanese tuner shop (st hi tec) and also bought 1 tomie oil restrictor but when buying this soichi cautioned several times not to use the oil restrictor as it is made for a rb26 and most likely to run the head dry and i have been told this by a couple of other guys too but some say to use it. Can anyone help? my combo is rb30 block with r32 NON vct head wiseco forged pistons shot peined rods and just a standard recond rb25 head.

hey im in new zealand and im just wondering where i could get some tomei oil restrictors from? I'm thinking about putting 1.5mm oil restrictors in both the valleys which leads me to my second enquiry, im just wondering if there is anywhere in new zealand where i can get a n1 oil pump as im in Hamilton and have even tried Auckland without any luck. If anyone could help me with either of the issues it would be much appreciated cheers.

ohk, its just that i was planning on using the rb25de cams on the 30 build or would i be better off using the rb20det 1's?

are the rb20det and rb25de camshafts the same?
