We would...if we were the original owners. After swapping so many owners and collisions damage them it becomes increasingly difficult to find an A31 with them.
Now thinking about it, it's probably a good measure (in addition to other stuff of course) to determine how abused a car is.

There are brackets or small tabs that hold up the bumper on each corner not to mention small long rods on either side, low down that connects to the bumper to give it a bit of rigidity.

I have a RB25DET swap in my A31.
Depending on speed and time of day the cabin temperature can be pretty uncomfortable.
At idle, the compressor comes on with the switch however it can be heard coming on and off around approx 2k rpm, I'm not sure if it comes back on higher up in the power band as my exhaust is pretty loud. On highway runs the a/c barely cools the cabin and if I give it a lil go, ~140km/hr it actually becomes warm.
I am using the air con compressor that came with the RB25 and not the RB20 one if that makes a diff.
I've already changed the lines to accommodate the RB25 compressor so going back to a RB20 one is out of the question.
Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem may be? I appreciate any help that anyone may offer.

Noted toffy. Thanks.

change back to the rb20 compressor if you can? sounds like wiring issues though? i'm assuming it was fine with the rb20 in?
Lines are already changed to accommodate the RB25 compressor and the RB20 was sold yesterday.

gonna have to disagree on that one.....
X2
I would give that title to Justin Fox's BNR32.

Do you have any engine bay pics?

Mine sits dead center and was a auto ---> manual conversion.
BTW can I use a S15 manual crossmember under the gearbox instead of a S13?

Im too lazy to search the offsets for myself. Wasnt sure if r34 gtr's are +30
More interested in the tyre sizes, as im running +30 255/40's and I wish i could tuck them in like Roy has
18x9 +30 from memory.

Difference between BNR32 and BCNR33 Crank
Ive got pics here somewhere.Notice the larger surface area of the flattened oil pump drive on the snout of the crank on the R33 item. The R32 is significantly smaller. You can see why they crack oil pump gears.

R34 GTR rims were available in different sizes/offsets?????????????
A spacer could affect the effective offset?
-
Weren't they just an ABS GTR with the ABS removed though?
Still have the bolt holes for the sensors and the holes for them also?
That I do not know.
-
Which ones? And how did they operate the 4wd system without a wheel speed sensor?
The N1s
After a couple of weeks, another light blinked on at the end of the tunnel. I recalled that the R32 GT-R N1 came from the factory without ABS fitted. Now the N1 came in two basic versions. The first was based on the standard GT-R, and the second as I understand it was based on the V-spec and V-spec II versions, which used the same Brembo calipers as the R33 GT-R (which I'm using). -
ALL GTR's had ABS
Not all BNR32s.

Darn! Another one!

Congrats meng!

ahh, understood! cheers.
For sure, budget is everything at the end of the day. You could probably land anything you want there in Trinidad if you have wealth to cough up
Nice Ceffy too by the way!
Thanks for the compliment mate.

just curious, whats the difficulty with getting parts sent to you from overseas?
long wait? expensive freight costs? etc?
I'm from Trinidad, our situation is special in that there are areas throughout our country that are quite popular for sourcing foreign used parts (wreckers that import containers directly from Japan full of used parts). Most of our vehicles are JDM, Nissan & Toyota are the most popular brands with Subaru taking on a segment of the market relatively recently as well.
Mechanical parts are relatively abundant, especially if you're a regular/popular customer you'll be able to catch a couple of deals. The problem arises for cosmetic parts, they're usually not in the best condition and sometimes they're outright not available UNLESS, again, if you know the correct people you may be able to source what you want directly out of Japan.
To your original question, parts are relatively easy to source out of the US, so polyurethane bushings and other suspension pieces for the USDM 240SX can be bought new. The issue is with car products the duties are between 30%-40% of the invoice value, so often people under-value their parts to pay less duties. Via air-freight from the states, it can take as little as two days from the click of your mouse to picking up. Via sea-freight it can take up to 6 weeks from the US.
From Australia, I'm not quite sure the length of time taken (I'll guess 3 months, similar to what I've heard a container takes from JDM land) but I can only imagine freight will be a killer though. A few items such as chassis braces and Whiteline products have been done before. Due to the already established connection with Japan, parts will be quicker sourced from there.
If anyone is willing to establish connections with local dealers I would say give it a go as there is a relatively large car scene going on despite not having a track to run on at the moment.
The most popular automotive based website in our country, Trinituner.
I personally will love to have a RB30 block and ViPec ECU sourced out of Australia however my budget says otherwise at the moment.

Those stuff are well and good but to get them imported into the Caribbean will prove to be a pain.
Not too fond of a C33 front end on my A31.
Thanks for the points so far though, keep 'em coming.

Hi folks, another lurker on the forum.
In the future I may be interested in doing some minor cosmetic upgrades such as side mirrors and possibly a body-kit for my A31 however it's very difficult sourcing them where I'm from. One will be hard pressed to find an Autech kit in my country and that's exactly what I would like. I won't even have access to an original so that I may mold a copy.
As far as I'm aware most cosmetic parts for the A31 are specific and/or are custom pieces BUT I would like to be proven wrong.
If there are any known substitutes can someone please enlighten me.

Man, please don't tell me you have a RB30 here in T'dad. I'll take it off of you!
You could have my engine for cheap and use back your old head. Only the lifters were beginning to make noise on my RB20E.

DO EEEET!!!
I have replicas of these and they look fantastic with the right offset. Pity mine isn't lowered.
