  1. Hey Guys, I've got an RB20DET with an R33 T3, FMIC, 3" exhaust with dump, TunedROM ECU, TurboSmart Boost Controller and C.A.I. Next I want to upgrade the fuel supply but I'm not sure wether to start with the Injectors or the Fuel Pump? Has anyone got any suggestions?
  2. Ive got an R33 T3 on mine, feels like this was the Turbo the RB20 was meant to have off the factory floor. Smoother, more powerful, more responsive. Cost me $350.00 for the Turbo and 2 days to install (I had to modify the oil return pipe to fit around the bigger turbo).
  3. Try getting some spray type Carburettor cleaner, taking off your airpod/filter and gently spray/mist the cleaner into the Air Flow Meter. Dont hold the can too close when you do it or you will destroy the A.F.M., hold the can about 10cm's away from the little grill that covers the A.F.M. you can see when you take the air filter off.
  4. Remove the stock BOV - get an empty can of beer and cut a gasket out of the can the shape of the BOV, but DONT cut a whole in the gasket for the air to flow through and then mount the gasket back onto the BOV. You get no blow-by to the BOV so the "flutter" you hear is the waste-gate venting itself. This is how my car came from Japan, however I removed the can gasket for a clean, stock BOV sound.
  5. Hey guys, Got the old classic problem of my headlights blowing about every month or so. Anyone had any experience with this in a Skyline? It's an R32 GTS-4 with the "cats eye" headlights.

  7. If they're brand new, not second-hand I'm interested.
  8. The wheel angle sensor could be upside down on the boss kit. On the R32 it has Nissan written on it, take the boss off, rotate the wheel angle sensor until the Nissan logo is up the top or the wire connecting the horn is at about 2:00 and re-fit the boss. Also helps to wrap some slightly thicker rubber around the large prong on the wheel angle sensor to ensure it has a tight fit against the boss.
  9. I run with the resonator - doesnt restrict flow at all just takes the drone out. It's a pretty big resonator, so without it I personally think it would be as loud as a bitch.:Bang:
  10. Yeah that's kinda my thinking on it. Thanks Cubes.
  11. Thanks for the info mate. What about a high pressue pump? This would also allow me to hit a bit more power that may be out of reach wouldn't it?
  12. HPI ran an article on adjustable cam gears and found they made considerable advances on an RB20DET, especially the exhaust side by tuning it with a set of cam gears. What brand/spec cam gears are you running Roy? I'll see if I can find the article and get some info on their tune for you.
  13. Yeah I was looking at fitting adjustable cam gears also as I heard there are pretty substantial gains that can be had on the exhaust timing particularly on the RB20DET. No doubt a set of cam gears will also help the Chipped ECU. I made 155rwkw on the U.A.S. Dyno when all it had was a cat back 3" exhaust, boost controller and pod (stock turbo - 14psi, stock intercooler, stock front-pipe, no C.A.I.). So with these mods I hopefully should hit pretty close to 200rwkw - however I do not want to be running 100% duty on my injectors. I've heard of the stock injectors handling upto 220+ but not sure how reliable that is. Not sure if I'd rather fit a fuel pressure regulator or just fit a bigger fuel pump. Probably fit a bigger pump, out with the old in the new right.
  14. Guys, I've got an RB20DET with an R33 Turbo fitted, Hybrid FMIC, Turb back 3" HKS exhaust, TurboSmart Boost Controller, Cold Air Induction with a K&N Pod. Next I want to chip it and dyno the thing to get the correct fuel maps, etc configured. I'm just wondering a) Where in your experience are some good places around Sydney to get an RB20DET Chipped & Dyno Tuned and B) Should I look at upgrading the fuel pump/injectors soon. I'm pretty sure the stockers will flow up to 200rwkw OK but I dont want to run into reliablility troubles with this engine. Thanks in advance. Havent Dyno'ed recently but I'm looking for 200rwkw
  15. Never park anywhere you can't see your car.
  16. Hi Guys, just looking for a place to get my R32 chipped and dyno'ed, can anyone recommend a garage around Sydney? Thanks very much guys.

  18. R32 GTS-4's are Turbos and they're all TYPE-M's so they have the TYPE-M kit, brakes, steering wheel, etc. RB20DET with the GT-R 4WD. Bit heavier then the GTSt but they get the launch in a straight line, the cornering is sublime and I can pull away form WRX's in the wet.
  19. Ahhh just saw the "stock boost" bit. Makes more sense now
  20. My RB20 did 150rwkw with 3" cat back exhaust, pod and turbo smart boost controller on the UAS dyno. What Dyno where you running it on? I've now got a FMIC, 3" dump pipe, CAI and an RB25 turbo, hasnt been dyno'ed with the latest mods yet however.
  21. I've got a Top Secret GT-R Front on my GTS-4, I got it cut (2 small "V"'s cut into the top) and fiberglassed back up to take the gaps out. Otherwise it would bow under the headlights and across the middle and just didnt sit straight across the top. A GT-R front will fit without cutting but will probably bow and looks pretty bad.
  22. BTW my SOP (Seat of the Pants) Dyno is registering a deffinant increase in power especially in 3rd, 4th & 5th. I also fitted some piping to create a Cold Air Induction system so no doubt that is helping it along also.
  23. Hey guys, Just installed the FMIC and it's funny - I was running 12PSI on the stock cooler - didnt change my boost controller or anything and now it seems to be sitting around 10PSI, so if anything I seem to have experienced a pressure drop. I am running my Boost Gauge off the Intake Plenum, I know theres a few place to run the Boost Gauge from, I wonder if the position of the boost gauge has anything to do with my readings? Anyway, I've got an R33 Turbo to go on it next and then yes, off the the Dyno for a good tune and possibly a re-mapped chip.
  24. Hey guys, I've just installed a Front Mount on my RB20DET replacing the stock side mount intercooler - Im now wondering if I should adjust my TurboSmart boost controller to compensate for the increased flow of the new intercooler? Is this increase in flow going to over boost the turbo in any way? Thanks guys.
