  1. Hey Everyone, been looking into making my daily driver more ready for the drift track, while still keeping it street legal.

    As i work with 4WD's all day was just wondering if an air locker diff would be of any use for drifting, as i could lock it up for track use, but still keep it legal on the streets.

    Haven't seen anything like it around, was just wondering if anyone has experimented yet or heard about this concept?

    mate i too work with 4WD's all day....if you can get one to fit do it. a lest you know you have a locked diff that is legal

  2. Hey was just wondering about my car, ever since its been tuned its been blowing alot of black smoke. Like i mean i wash the car and within 3 days the whole back of the car is black. Which looks really bad considering the car is white. Anyway what im trying to get at is do you think its possible the tuner has made it a bit over rich? and could get away with it running a bit leaner? or the tune has slightly gone out of wack since it was done(9 months ago) and needs to be redone?

    yep i would say it is running very rich

  3. you really should know what mods are done to it before you buy it...

    if your unsure of what blowing smoke could mean then you pretty much need some help and eventually I reckon this thread will say 'take it to a decent workshop'...

    i can tell you why is it blowing smoke but just wanted to see if anyone els would say it

    so looks like the turbo has gone and the blocked of rocker cover breather would of been just adding to it ( now that it was blocked off i just hope the seals have not been push out)

  4. Hi guys i got a new R33 3days ago and she is blowing smoke after hard acceleration so i got looking and the old owner blocked of the rocker cover breathers. would this cores a s**t load of smoke..since unblocking it the smoke has cleared up heps but can still see it

    mods are

    hiflow turbo

    front mount

    3" zorst

    thats all i know in the way of mods

  6. Hi Up for sale i have a PBR cushion button clutch that i was going to use on my RB25DET put as i have the engine in a Partol it will not suiteable for my application

    LOOKING FOR $500 + post

    Level 2: SSCC

    A sprung centre type clutch plate with cerametallic friction material bonded to a backing plate. There is dampening between the backing plates improving modulation. Torque capacity is increased however the concession is a slightly harsher engagement when compared to a clutch plate using organic friction material.

  7. That's what I was thinking with the hot/cold question, as coils that are starting to fail will play up alot more than once they get hot. It revs fine with no load? I'd be saying most likely an ignition problem, otherwise it could be a fuel problem (was it diesel before and did you flush the tank properly? Pressure problem? Blocked injectors?)

    Have you checked the plugs and tried gapping them down to the .7-.8 range to see if it improves at all?

    ok guys i have put new plugs in and still nothing but i think it dose it hot or could and somethimes it dose not do it but 99% of the time it dose

    no was not diesel befor was petrol

    boost depends on which turbo

    theres aftermarket pistons to suit 9:1 30det, have a search

    dont need oil squirters

    fit the knock sensors, they bolt straight up

    25 oil and water pumps will be fine

    you must fit some sort of restrictors, the standard 30 feeds are too big for the 25 head. the size depends on oil pump, use of the motor, what you do with vct etc

    the turbo will be the stock one hiflowed or the next turbo up

    oil pump i was going to use is the stock RB25 one

    why not dont you need oil squirters

  9. hi guys just been thinking about doing a 25/30...if i do it. it will look just like a stock 25( i here you ask way would you) will some of you know i have a GQ patrol with a RB25DET in it but off road its not the best i need more low down which the 30 will give

    so will the Stock bottom end of the 30 hold up to at least 15PSI???

    if i put the 25 head on it the compression will drop. how do i get it back up to 9.1? what pistions need to be used?

    can you still run the oil sqirters?

    do you need to fit the knock sensors in to the RB30??? if not i want to anyway...

    can i use my RB25 water pump??

    what oil pump

    and do you think it is a good idea to fit oil ristrictors??
