  1. As I understand it it, the current rules re 15 year old cars requires that you fit retractable seatbelts, high-level stop light, a smaller fuel nozzle (cos our unleaded pumps have a smaller nozzle then the "leaded" pumps), non-convex mirrors and side-impact bars in the doors. Once you've done all this and have an engineer's sign-off for the mods you've basically got your car complied!! Then you need to get it licenced and registered. Then you can finally drive off into the sunset....straight into your garage ready to make the car really, really FAST!! :-)
  2. Now that's enough for this thread!! :-)
  3. Don't worry, it's all good. You just take the good with the bad. ;-) Good service from Capa - www.capa.com.au
  4. Thanks for the info. I ended up rining Capa (www.capa.com.au) and they were really helpful. Apparently RB30 injector are "hose and tail" injectors as opposed to the more normal o-ring type (doesn't mean much to me!!) but they sell universal railing etc that you can adapt and use the o-ring injectors. Need to make the manifold a little bigger but hopefully it won't be too hard!! :-)
  5. Post has been deleted.... :-)
  6. Yeah it's been running lean because the std injectors were too small. ATM he's only running 5lbs of boost due to the fuel restrictions but he's been looking around for different injectors. He's got an Inject computer to put onto it to remap the ECU but I don't know if they'll need something special? Any other injectors fit the RB30? Something with a high value / $ ratio?
  7. My friend had some sort of overnight meltdown (probably an electrical fault) in his R31 Skyline last night and his injectors (amongst other things) are cooked. The car has an aftermarket CT12 turbo and Supra intercooler fitted to a rebuilt, bored and ported RB30 engine. Anyone know if the RB30ET injectors fit straight in? I recall reading somewhere that they are 2 stage injectors (blah blah) and need a ECU change to run properly. Any other injectors that can be used with the same impudance? Any other hints / info / ideas? Thanks!!
  8. How much you asking for your cefiro, meggala? And which one, you've got 3 on your web page!!! :-)
  9. That Celsior is seen as stock # 846 on the Prestige site. Listed as "Sold" on 13/5/03.....the wheels *were* nice!!! heheheh Wonder how many other cars are missing bits and pieces....
  10. Yes but try finding anyone in Australia that actually has a SEVS compliance plate for R32 Skylines. It's too expensive and too difficult to bother with for the R32's (especially since they are expected to come into Aus under the 15 year rule net year). So there's no guarantee that you could even get the car complianced. In Perth at the moment there's only 2 or 3 places that actually can do compliance under SEVS and they only have R33 compliance registered. Oh, and there's one place that has SEVS compliance for Supras (costs $5000).
  11. That's pretty much the only thing I can do at the moment (wait until next year, that is). I would assume that it's going to cost me more then (cos everybody will be in a bidding war for the '89 models) but I'll just wait and see. Was hoping to pick up an ex-Japan R32 GTS-t for around $10K landed. My other option is to stump up more money and buy an R32 / R33 that's already been landed in Aus. Heaps of R33's around at the moment but they go for $15K and up.
  12. Does anyone out there know WTF is happening with the 15 year import rule? I was looking at trying to import a 15 year R32 Skyline from Japan but I've now heard that the rule is possibly being revised. One possiblility is apparently that they'll change it to a 25 year old car, another is that the car can only be imported the day it turns 15 (ie not just the year it turns 15). The govt has already wrecked the import market by introducing the SEVS compliance and now this? Any more up to date info?
  13. Sorry buddy, just a personal opinion. My best friend likes the R33 sedan over the 2 door but I think they look too generic. I like the 2 door R33 much better then the sedan....but I like the 4 door R32 better then the 2 door. Take off the rear spoiler, lower it, slam on some five spoke rims and you've got a phat car. Overall my personal favourite (like everyone else!!) is the R34 GTR but I'd "settle" for an R32 GTR.
  14. Here's a pic of an SR20DET in an R32.... http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=1096
  15. Yeah, I've seen a modified R32 GTS-t with the SR20DET engine swap and it sits way behind the struts. Anyways, back to my original post, I want something that I play with and improve and that makes me smile when I drive it (that's what you worry about when you're 31 and married!!) *grins* And I think the Soarers are probably too boring!!!
