  1. Hey guys,

Has anyone tried to remove the annoying beeping noise when you leave the key in the ignition and open the driver's side door? Sometimes I like to clean the car with both doors open and the stereo on, but that beeping just annoys me.

    any suggestions?

    Thanks! :)

    Thanks guys,

but would that drain the battery quicker? :P

dont put the key in...use ipod+good hifi for "stereo" for as long as you want and nothing to worry about battery too~ :P

  2. that is the actual real item

hey maybe i can organise a group buy on these items? if get a few people interested?

could choose between jim wolf or the Stillen

i personally am leaning towards the stillen, as i have been chatting to a few guys over on g35driver and a few of them said that the stillen is the only one when tested, which actually had colder air intake temps

the dollar is not bad right now - hovering around the 71 mark....

    +1 :)

lets get more ppl for the group buy~

  3. Same price for both 8100 & 300v Chrono?

    I don't think I would shop there...

Lol... try an M owner and I think the word you are after is "trustworthy"!

Yea, u got me :) , juz cant think of that word at the time for the posting~

BTW, used the 20% off at Repco today and grapped 3 of Motul 300V choro!!! woohoo~

    Took from my iphone~

also....spotted a blue coupe on whitehouse rd/springvale rd as I was on the way to repco in Nunawading...saw two guy (not sure if they are the owner of the blue V) took all the 300v Choros from the shelf as there were 3 left...I only had one...didnt noticed it was only 4L after they took all, so ran to repco in ringwood to grapped the last 2 there, that two guy came too, but this time I was faster~ :D

  4. I have had both the Turanza ER300 and Potenza RE001. Turanza is a very average tire. The RE001's v.good. I currently have Toyo CT01. These are the quietest tires i have driven on and have been performing equally as good as the RE001 Potenza's. Not sure of the cost in Aussie but in NZ they are cheaper by $50 a tire.

Organising RE001s to put on by next week, most of mech recommended RE001 as ER300 is "Touring" and RE001 is "Performance" tires~

I need some grippy foot~ :P , RE001 got much better rating on noise level and wet/dry grips than ER300

  5. so they quote you $650 to fix the problem but they don't know which component went wrong? The rocker cover gasket won't have anything to do with noise coming from your suspension.

You might wanna take your car to a true suspension specialist. Sounds like your mechanic wants to replace parts by trial and error to try and eliminate your problem.

Yea, that was the main concern when they says they dont know which part went wrong for making this sound.

suspension specialist.. any recommendations?~ :D

just go bring it in king springs suspension. :stupid:

or i guess any suspension workshops, they should be able to shed some light on that.

    king spring?...they good??

heard they are really cheap stuff...as in dodgy :geek:

but thx for all urs suggestions...yea, $650 for trial error isnt a good idea to spend rudd's $900~:D

prob taking for some workshop to have a look around.

Any1 can recommend good suspension workshop in SE Melb or around city?

  6. but who will b willing to spend that amount of money for just engineering? Unless you can do it yourself...

its depends on how u define 'expensive'~

i just got mine fitted with xforce Varex muffler...gotta say 'ITS AWESOME'.

need to get my cam charge up for demo on youtube~

but still got some dodgy pipe work on it from mechie who never seem a V before, so i guess the sound still with-in the 'legal limit' (85dB?).

Compare with the stock muffler it does sound much better, and the sound on 'close' is almost the same, prob just slightly, very slightly louder than stock~

  7. anybody buy one and want to sell it now?

    +1

looks like we r too late for this now...when's the next one~?

btw while I was waiting for the car getting service at Melb City Nissan this arvo, heard a call about someone need help for putting up spacer~ ?

not sure if its for V tho, i am bad at ears dropping~

  8. Hey guys,

Just finish my first service for 70,000Km on the V at Melb city nissan.

Told them about the weird sound on rear suspension when I reverse into my garage (up-hill).

They are not sure which compenent went wrong, they lubricated to see if that make any difference, which did not...

The quote from them to fix it $650, not sure if that's include labour...

    parts are the following:

    Gasket-rocker cover x2

    Bush-rear stablizer x2

    Rod-Connecting, Rear stablizer x2

Really have no idea what are these stuffs...

Main question is....would the problem gets resolved if I try to put on/change coilovers? (bcoz look for some upgrade like TEIN, or S-Tech)

If so, what is the best way to start for gather parts? Like springs, shocks, etc...or is there any good kits around? or any1 selling it~?

  9. Yep HP1008. That is the one.

    Where to get 300v Chrono?

Autobarn Frankston, Narre Warren, Doncaster, Autobarn City or Moorabbin should all have it - although it DOES sell out pretty damn fast at Narre.

def not in doncaster...go there pretty much once or twice every week never seem it ever, not even price tag on the shelf.

went to city autobarn, they got some champ stock, none on choro.

the guy says he dont recommend 300v choro on a street car.....he suggested use 8100 instead, which is at the same price of $109 (OUCHY!!)

just got car serviced at city nissan, cost half grand due to sterring oil, tires rotated...and stupid rear suspension...i just use their OEM 7.5w-30 for this time, wanna see the difference for next service i'll use the 300v (who care wat autobarn guy says, V owners' word are much more trustable!)

  10. City Nissan~sounds okay for me since work in city. better call them in the morning....stupid Kamikaze quoted $220 + parts....(gotta bring my own oil and filter)

gotta feel i might get ripped from KMZ...=='

Geelong.....thats gonna burn all my weekend petrol quota for just getting car service.

Where would be able to find some awesome workshop like this

dont really mind to pay for the 300 Red Service to look after the babe~ if they use the MOTUL 300v which is highly recommended by most of V owners

  11. http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm - can't remember filter number, sorry

    is the part numer HP-1008???

Correct me if i am wrong....because getting one in 2 days time for my first service~ :D

Motul 300v Chrono - Only negative is price. Car LOVES to rev, is very responsive and has more "get up and go" than the other oils. Engine runs very smoothly. Just "feels" good overall. Have been using it for the last 35,000kms. Looking at trying 300v Power Racing due to it being 5W30 - much closer to Nissan's 7.5W30 mineral oil (I won't use Mineral oil).

Where to get this? I've been looking at autobarn, repco and supercheap auto none of them got this.....or prob I am blind ;)

  12. i am temped with the MXV8 for $800~

read the review about Goodyear Excellence.....looks like the tires does have nice grip, but wear off too quick (some says 20000km, 30000km)

i am running around for quotes for Bridgestone Adrenalin~everyone seem to loving it with the durability and performances~

so far getting 260, 265 on the 215/55/r17 - my current tire from dealer is Dunlop VE301......its shXX as....i was running on Eastern Freeway duringa wet night..i can feel my car is loosing grip when run over puddles...and skidded over runabouts.

  13. I am currently at Auto Excess (VIC only dealership for xForce Varex)...

they took out my Sedan muffler....its sounds the same when its mufflerless........

the guy says its got a large resonator pretty much cutted off the sounds....

he took it off from the cats, test the sounds......SOUNDS AWESOME!!!

so I've decided to get a catback done instead of rear mufflers.......

plus somehow the pipe are all rusted.....so 2nd reason to get new catback

i'll post up some photo as its still in progress....for removing the huge mid-resonator and putting smaller resonator on

    keep in touch~ :)

should get it done in few hrs

  14. sorry to tell you but it's not gonna work with 350Z parts. they don't share the part.

350z & v35 coupes have twin exhaust exit pipes on both side. v35 sedan has on the right side exit only.

pipe diameter 2.5" to 3" are usually for turbo.

aftermarket non turbo usually ranges around 2" - 2.25" max, with non turbo you actually LOOSE power if you go too big and it will drone like hell. be careful with non turbo exhaust mods, as it's easy to get it very wrong.

Thanks~that gave me some idea on which type of muffler i should look for

  15. Hey Guys,

Want to know for 350GT8 or juz normal sedan model....what is the size for exhaust? 2.5" or 3"?

Since it much longer than 350z..and its sedan so the components is not shared with 350z?

Any1 can refer good workshop in Melb eastern suburb for fitting new muffler (or plus new pipe works)~

    Cheers,
