  1. Dont see the point in double demerits or how it is fair, speeding/drink driving is no more or less dangerous on christmas than at any other time. Why not make murder 30 years instead of 15 or burglary 6 years instead of 3 during the holidays as well?

Police are really out in force though so crack out your mums camry, I saw 2 speed cameras, 3 marked cop cars and to top it off when I was nearly home I was also pulled over by 2 unmarked cop cars, a white ve divvy van that was very obvious and a not so obvious maroon vz wagon. Fine because my back p plate had fallen and flipped over to the red side:( This was all on a 15km stretch of one road as well

  2. A few months ago in the winter I was driving along the freeway at 100kmph when a plastic shopping bag was suddenly sucked through my window and suctioned onto my entire face, it was all dirty and wet as well as it had been raining. Luckily being such an awesomely awesome driver my initial reactions were to keep the steering wheel still and brake slowly until I peeled the bag off my face and threw it back out the window to attack some other unsuspecting motorist. Porbably the only instance of a close(ish) call I have to crashing from a distraction.

  3. So far I havn't seen them again, then again the car has been garaged every day since with the garage door padlocked and disconnected from power at night. I have to start parking it up the side of my house again as we now have 4 cars though so I'll be watching for them again.

Also I switched my insurance, saved $150 per year and my excess is $1250 instead of 3 grand if its stolen, with the cars value upped to 8.5 grand:P

  4. Lol only took him 40kms to realise he actually had a handbrake or emergency brake as they are sometimes called.

The article makes him out to be some hero, IMO he is a douchebag for not realising he could use the handbrake and he recieves bonus douchebag points for swerving into oncoming traffic lanes in his large SUV (which could have easy wiped out an entire family)

  5. Really 30 grand isnt all that much for a sports car in 1991, a vn calais rrp was over 30k back then as well and its hardly a car that the wealthy and elite have preserved over time. New cars are getting cheaper and cheaper relative to other goods so you cant really compare its "inflated" price

  6. i need a PSP genius to come and work on mine. it's an original untouched V1.50 firmware version. and I never have upgraded. I was using devhook with some kind of version emulator to play 2.50 games etc. but then I got bored with it and haven't used it in ages. I want to use it again but don't want to loose my original V1.50 firmware. so who is the PSP guru out there??? :ninja:

I'm in the same boat, I downgraded my psp then upgraded to a custom firmware version then left it for ages. Now I'm not sure how I can upgrade it to the newest custom firmware. I have looked on a few sites on how to do it and it seems like a pain in the ass, with about 10 different programs and versions needed to be downloaded and installed in the correct order if you want to be able to download and play the newest games.

  7. Does having a turbo make any difference to economy? I have gotten 550kms to a tank in normal around town conditions and 650kms highway cruising at ~95kmph, couldve pushed it to past 700kms as well but wasnt game to try it. I usually get around 460-470kms per 50L around town. This is in an r33 gtst and seems to be better than most of the N/A figures here.

  8. Yeah ive told my parents to try get the rego if they see it again and Im putting in an ignition switch first thing tomorrow.

It probably wasn't 6 maoris lol but last time I saw it there were 5 big maoris packed in the hyundai like sardines

  9. Just got home from work today and dad said there was a "white hyundai getz with about 6 maoris in it" pulled up in the driveway that took off when they saw him. Pretty much 100% sure now that they were there for my car

  10. thanks for the replies, I dont really have much money to spare so I'll probably get an ignition/fuel cut switch installed, my dad thinks it should be quite easy to do and said he has done it on his own vehicles in the past

The fuel tank suggestion seems a bit extreme haha specially with my mystery fuel guage that drops from full to empty in 100kms

I do have 3rd party fire+theft however I really wouldn't like to have the car stolen as the stupid women that did my insurance told me "r33s are worth 6.5k at most" according to redbook and I have a 3k excess so the payout would be a grand total of 3.5k :) woohoo.. nearly enough for me to go on boostcruising and buy a VL

  11. Maybe Im being paranoid but Im starting to worry about my car being broken into or stolen.

In the past month theres been a hyundai getz full of 7ft maoris pull up and stare at my house and car before tearing off one wheel squealing, a white R34 pull up also to look at my car and finally last night at a bit past midnite what I assume was a stolen dark coloured R33 pulled up with a guy shining a torch on my car. I noticed this while watching a movie and quickly ran outside, the r33 reversed flatout nearly leaving his bumper on my curb before crunching it into first and speeding off, could hear him bouncing off the limiter before crunching into 2nd and today I found a broken r33 doorhandle there as well (from the other car not mine). I can only garage my car 50% of the time and it has an alarm, the cars nothing special either just a stock 33 s1 gtst with maybe $300 of audio gear and a nobrand turbotimer. I do live on a busy street though

Is there anything else I can do or should do to protect my car?

  12. Make sure to fill up at or just before Bunbury its the most southern part of WA that still has close to perth metro prices. After that fuel jumps like 15-20cpl higher in price everywhere. (or it did a few months ago went I went to margret river)

  13. *cough* dodgey *cough*

Why is it dodgey? Its a more secure fit than the stock plumback connection, if any connection does fail on my installation work it wont be this part. Anyway I would rate my work as alot better than the very messy previous atmospheric blow off valve installation.

  14. just get a mirage 1.5 radiator hose and cut it and it will fit to gtr bov and gtst stock plumb back piping

i posted the part number sum where but cant seem to remember what part number it was

I just connected it by putting a piece of the smaller gtst bov type piping inside the larger gtr rubber piping, and then put a radiator clip thingie on it and joined it as normal. I don't think its leaking but I may test it further just to be sure.

  15. OK so its a GTR bov? not bad for $10 then I guess:p The guy selling it didnt know much about it, he drove an audi and when I asked which model skyline he used to own he said he had never even owned a nissan so I dunno how he obtained it.

I have taken one of the recirc valves off and installed it on my skyline. Is the only difference between the gtst and gtr recirc valves the pipe sizes on the larger end? can anyone confirm this or are is there other changes as well?

Seems to run fine with the new recirc valve, now it makes a funny "pchieww" type noise instead of pshhhhttt at gear changes, the cars responsiveness also seems ever so slightly decreased though it is a very subtle difference which is expected I guess. The cars small backfiring issue and occasionally lumpy idle also appear to be solved.

  16. I am pretty sure that it is a GTR type twin recirc valve and I am currently fitting one of the recirc valves to my skyline, I'm currently installing it and will see how it goes, looking like the only modification needed will be from the different pipe sizes which is an easy fix. Will see how it runs soon

  17. I just picked this up as advertised an an "r33 recirc valve" however Im thinking that this isnt what it is. I sort of suspected this when I bought it but it was just a fraction of the $50 that most people charge for one on this site. Can anyone tell me what it is? or if it is possible that I could use this on my 33 gtst?

  18. Yesterday I was talking to a mate who was saying that his car, a 90's model daewoo lanos is insured for an agreed value of $12,500, even though he got it from his mum who payed under $3000 for it a few years ago. He reckons if he writes it off he will get payed the whole 12.5 grand but I reckon that they would just buy him another daewoo lanos or reevalute his vehicles cost when he does crash it. He is also obviously paying a decent amount more than he should for his insurance due to the agreed value being so high. Thoughts?

  19. I just bought this game and I'm wondering if its a lemon. Yes the graphics/sounds are awesome, and I dont mind the handling and physics, its not as good as some of the other games but its a big improvement on previous NFS titles. I am thinking that EA forgot to test this game at all for bugs and glitches though becuase there seem to be an alful lot of them. My 34 GTR that I just spent all my ingame credits on is immune to part upgrades (like I can buy them and apply them but they dont do anything) and the drifting is absolute shit. It is so shit not even the game its self can handle the shittiness of drift. 7/10 times when the drift event begins with a rolling start the computer will lose it, so instead of starting at 60kmph or w/e I start backwards up against a side barrier. This is all after 1 day of gameplay so god knows what else I'll find or if I'll even be able to make it to the end of the game. I have also heard of some pretty bad ommisions such as the mouse not working on PC version and the XBOX version trying to connect to the playstation store online.
