  1. I wonder if the teams will start sending additional info to the drivers steering wheels or something, given the amount of technology in those wheels its probably possible for them to do that. I guess it could still be considered a radio transmission though so who knows.

The whole thing seems a bit ridiculous, especially with it being applied to the practice sessions as well.

  2. Thats unreal. I could tell straight away what they were from but didn't know if you'd used a kit or something.

    Mad props.

I remember seeing a few years back that theres a company in Japan that makes similar widebody rear fenders but I can't for the life of me remember what they are called.

But yeah, awesome job doing it yourself.

Edit: found it lol, company that I was thinking of is Final Motion

  3. Bumping this thread up for anyone who hasnt been following the development, the dogfighting module (delayed for around 6 months and now called Arena Commander) is being uploaded to their distribution servers right now. So hopefully it will be available for download in the next few hours and playable tonight.
The way its being rolled out is that anyone who has access to it will get the single player game modes, and then the multiplayer will be rolled out according by citizen number, which basically equates to being in order of when people registered for the game. They havent given a real indication of how long it will take for the multiplayer to be rolled out, but hopefully it will be in the next week or 2.

  4. It's been done before, I'm sure. Have a search on here, I know at least one person has looked into it before. From memory the R34 6speed needs a custom length tailshaft made up, and there might be a bit more custom work.

  5. Those spiders are crazy, i've never heard of them before. Very cool seeing them in such detail given their size.

Heres some shots I took during the Retro Speedfest last weekend.

  6. Was the Lola a Lola-Hart or Lola Ford?

On another note was reading this book last night.

Anyway the section on the 3.5 litre V12's built for F1 before they reverted to 3.0 litre motors was interesting. Turns out Isuzu, HKS, and Nissan all had 3.5 litre V12's. As did Porsche (A complete dog of a thing which some would remember from the Footwork arrows days) and Ford. About the only people to make it work were Honda. And even then it was arguable that with packaging included it wasnt as good as the V10.

I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure it would be the Hart, given that the Speedfest entry list has it marked as a THL1, and according to wikipedia it was the 1986 THL2 where they changed from Hart to Ford

  7. I was at the Sydney Retro Speedfest at Eastern Creek last weekend, and among the classic cars they had there were some old F1 cars, very cool seeing them out on track.
