  1. so the problem was a small exhaust?

    the actuators werent closing properly?

    timing was out?

    did u ask jim went u went back that wen he had dyno tuned ur car , didnt he feel it was laggy as shit on the dyno , and y he never really did anything to sort that out while he had it , or even mention anything to you?

    He told me that the exhaust was too restrictive, and that fixing that along with a set of cam gears on there it will fix my problem, so i will be replacing the exhaust and fitting the cam gears next week, jim assured me if this does not fix my problem he will give me my money back

    As to why he never told me that it was too laggy when they had it, i couldnt tell you, all they said to me when i asked this was " you only told us you wanted 300 atw which it made

  2. Those results are pretty good. I am putting the same turbos on with CAM gears and will be stoked with that power level and full boost by 4,500RPM.

    P.S. Seen your car around looks great with the black wheels!

    yeah its fun on the street, i just got cam gears too, fitting them next week then off to crd for final tune,

  3. travis... have a chat to bakes.. his is pulling 300awkw at 1.3bar (wanted to get cams this year and go for 350kw), was tuned by scott at insight, and it comes on hard at 4500rpm, pin you to the seat kind of hard... its only laggy if you let the revs drop down.. keep it up in the happy spot (4500-8000rpm) and its fantastic.

    hey mate, yeah i made 330awks on 1.3 bar with stock cams and stock cam gears, full boost at 5000rpm,jim told me once i get the cam gears on there should be around the 4500rpm mark or less, cant wait!!!

    Hi finally got the car back from croydon yesterday. Jim had the car for 2 weeks and re-checked everything i had previously checked. He ran the car on the dyno with actuaors closed, exhaust off ect and showed me the dyno print out. I was amazed to see the difference with the exhaust off, boost came on strong at 5000rpm (1500rpm earlier!!!) I did try this but obviously you cant see the difference on the road while trying to drive, thats the beauty of having a dyno i guess!!! He also fitted new eboost 2 and explained to me that installing cam gears will also help alot and gave me a money back guarantee!!! I have purchased some cam gears which i will fit up next week and take back to croydon for another tune. Jim was very helpful at crd and was very shocked at how cheap he was ($700 for eboost install and setup, and 2 weeks worth of diagnoses!!!) will keep you posted after the cam gears are fitted up

  5. im with you on that one Trent...just didn't want to be the 1st to say it.

    i laugh at guys having a dig at one of the best GTR workshops on the planet. The calibre of cars to come out of this workshop is top class.

    I never ask for a dyno sheet also...i generally dont give a crap what the dyno tells me it makes. Its how it performs on the road/track that is a true measure of a cars performance.

    OK this car has an issue...why come on here and ask?...all you will get is mixed guesses from a heap of guys who in reality know f*ck all. Take it back to CRD and get it all sorted.

    I totally agree with you, crd are definitly good at what they do hence why i took it there in the first place. I fitted these turbo's myself and they were laggy before i sent it to crd, like i said before iam not blaming them. The car is going back to them in the new year so they can hopefully sort it out. The reason i posted on here is to see if anyone had seen this problem before as id rather see if i could work it out before taking it back to crd and getting slapped with another bill.

    If you are given a car and told specifically to tune it, you do that. It sounds like they didn't do any of the work on the car either.

    I've seen many a workshop go above and beyond only to be hammered later by silly owners complaints.

    Not saying this is the case here at all, just another perspective to look at because we clearly do not have all the facts thus far. Lots of pieces missing.

    Yes i agree with you, Iam not blaming croydon at all, i done all the work myself and took it to them just for a tune thats it. Iam taking it back there tomorrow to see if they can sort it out, will keep you posted, cheers...

  7. When i took the car to croydon i told them i wanted 300awkws which it achieved, i did not see boost vs rpm dyno sheet only power. I called them and explained to them that it was far too laggy, they told me to check a few things and if they dont work bring it back to them as the wastegates may be set wrong. The car is tuned at just over 1.2 bar using turbosmart t-piece (bad choice i know) but before i had the car tuned with just bolting the turbos to the stock motor and no t-piece, it still wouldnt hit full boost till 6500rpm.

    I have just tried to tighten the wastegate rods but the rods have a crimp to stop you adjusting them, any ideas?

    Also called gcg, they told me they have never heard of this before and i should be seeing full boost at roughly 4000rpm. They told me they are 1.0 bar actuators standard on the 2860-5's.

  8. Oh ok did not realise that they needed to be wired shut, will give it a try. They are the the standard wastegates that came new with the turbo's (purchased from gcg) so not sure what the springs are preset at, does anyone know?. This definitly sounds like it is the problem though, thanks heaps for all your help, will keep you posted.

  9. Hi all, wondering if someone can help me out. I recently installed 2860-5 on my R34 GTR along with hks dumps, power fc, sard 800cc injectors and 044 pump. Got the car tuned at croydon racing, the car made 304.4kws at all 4 but i dont see boost until 6500rpm!!! This seems way too high and think there maybe a problem somewhere. Things i have checked so far:

    - disconnected wastegates and drove incase gates slightly open (gates ok)

    -checked for boost leaks (none evident)

    -drove with no cat incase blocked (not blocked)

    I have spoken to a few people and they say that they are seeing full boost by 4000-4500rpm.

    The engine is stock (no cam gears or cams) but was told they shouldnt make too much of a difference especially not 2000rpm!!!

    Any help much appreciated

  11. Haha, not ban worthy but deserves a slight roast anyways. We will just have to educate him in some SAU etiquette. Besides it shouldn't take long before he realises that he shouldn't be checking out and calling girlfiends of built guys hot....hopefully he wont learn that the hard way.
