  1. Hey I'm also looking at add some more punch to my sound system.

Looking at spending about 1000 max on speakers and amp. Then later on look at adding a sub.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried or heard the Alpine DDLinear speakers? I'm thing about running them off a Alpine PDX-F4 amp.

Currently got a Kenwood KDC-X8019BT head unit which I put in a few months ago and some old Clarion speakers that were in there when I got the car.

  2. I'm a noob with spark plugs too.

What do you plugs look like when you take them out?

I have found some interesting reading at the NGK site this page in particular

    http://www.ngk.com.a...k-plug-analysis

This page kinda backs up what The Mafia said about tune might be the problem over bad plugs, could it be a bit lean with 15 psi and standard injectors?

I was using 8's (which it had when it was imported) with similar mods you and about 250kw, but after about 4000 k's took them out and checked them, figured they might be a bit cold for day to day driving as they were black as when I took then out so guessed they might be fouling up and went back to 7's which have been in for 11,000k's without a problem so far.

As is said I am a noob, and would be more then happy to be corrected, so I can learn more about it.

  3. That would be for you to decide…if they are illegal then I would not recommend it, even if they help you see better which may make it safer to drive at night, who makes these laws???

From what I have seen a fully legal merc or bmw with factory HID blind me morethen the ones I have fitted... not sure what the problem is to make them illegal

I didn't even try the 55 watt halogen to comparebut with the 35 watt kit above and 6000 k Phillips globes will give a very nicebeam that seamed to be nice and focused. I had to wind them down about 1/2 aturn. One day or night I might try the 55 watt and 100 watt halogen v's 6000 kHID and test the difference.

If you got them you would need a dremel and a stepper drill bit to fit them, also i found it easier to remove the whole light from the car as the globe holders needed to be adjusted to fit the HID globe.

  4. The hid mine had when I got it were not H1, I'm unsure what they were. Was not till one of them started to flicker I deiceded to get a new hid kit. I was rather horrified when I took the old ones out, the globes were held in with tape and cut off beer cans. The H1 globe mounts were ground out to make these unknown globes fit. I ended up getting an old set of headlights and getting the globe mounts out of them and put every back to factory setup then put the new H1 kit in from there.

  5. I got mine from delonixradar, there is a bit of info on the site you can read up on, looks like they even have a Xmas special. This is the kit I got, they work really nice, but they are a little slow to come up to full brightness which can be a problem if you don't use the duel high beam mod.

Fitting was not easy but it can be done. I should have taken some pics when I did mine

Depending on the board auto can be much much worse than setting the voltage manually.

The board is gigabyte GA-EX58 Extreme, so may be a got some bad advice then, I was told with that board it was best to just leave the voltages at auto, this probably explains all my problems

Without looking into it i would say they would be higher binned chips potentially.

This is usually the way such things work (same as steppings) leading to better overclocks also.

Will do more reading especially with the 2700k coming out shortly and overclock results starting to crop up - but some people are getting 5.0ghz on AIR from a 2700k where most 2600k are 4.6-4.8 on air from what I've ready.

Very keen to watch how they go.

Any results for what they get on water?

Thinking back it was the gtx295 that was 30% overclocked not the CPU, only did the shaders and gpu, didn't do anything with the voltages. The CPU was just the multiplier spreadsheet said I had +4, i was trying to go from 3.02 to 4 or 4.5, which was meant to be easy on water, but once again I didn't set voltages just left them on auto. Time to find the overclockers forum I guess.

  8. im guessing too much lol

I will have to see if I can find the spead sheet I was using other wise I would have no idea, One of the things I read somewere was to increase certain settings by 10% then 15%, I think it was around the 20% mark I had problems, as I realy had no idea wtf I was doing, I figured it was time to give up while it still ran lol

  9. I don't have a 2600k... Yet haha.

It will be hitting 4.5ghz as that seems to be the common result for most chips on the latest stepping. So I realistically cannot see mine being much lower as long as I get all the supporting bits.

haha dont mind my lake of sleep before makin that rather dumb commet

    My E8400 however sits @ 4.1ghz 24x7, and has since Nov 2008 :)

Was @ 4.3ghz but when the ambient is about 27-28c it gets angry at me. Not sure about mobo temps, either way they aren't high as I've not really changed them. Only alteration is the vcore which is 1.32 @ idle and 1.28 @ load so a bit of droop, but nothing overtly worrying for what was a mid-range board back then.

Thast good, everytime I have tried to overclock my i7 950 the thing might run nice for a week or two then is cranky to start so set it back to standard, seams to be to the point now if I change anything it just wont start

  10. +1 On the water cooling, I would get this....

XSPC Rasa 750 RX360 Universal CPU Water Cooling Kit - $199 from PC Case Gear.

I got the XSPC Rasa 750 RX240 kit, the biggest bonus is it drops the temp of the whole case down coz there is no hot air in and around the mother board.

A 2600k will do 4.5ghz on air, more than my E8400 does not on air!

Really cant see a reason to water cool

That is still rather impressive on air, what temp is your motherboard getting to?

  11. I used to do a fair amount of online racing, I have used iRacing a bit a few years ago, made it up into B grade but then PC passed away, then some never really got back onto into it. I will put up some pics of my set up. The SR rating can go south if your are in the wrong place at the wrong time, but that's racing I guess.

  12. Why not be a man and water the cool cpu, can get a good full kit for about $160 to get you started, been running mine water cooling system for about a year know and would never go back to air cooling! There is something about having a radiator in your PC...

  13. I have 35 watt ballets and 6000k in my r33 and they are awesome, I got flashed a few times but they were pointing up to high, lowered them a bit and have not been flashed yet, anything above 6000 k is not for road use, as the are to bright for on coming traffic and they loose the focus of the beam which gives skatered light which might be your problem

  14. Just wonder what everyone's values are for the exhaust gas senor, cold and hot on a R33 GTST S ii

I did a search for EXTM, Power FC exhaust senor but got squat on the value, did find a few cars for sale though lol :)

    anyway

on the hand controller for the Power FC

Etc > sensor check > EXTM

Mine is stuck on 4.98 to 5, is stays the same, checkedbefore I start the car (when it was cold) and after driving for 20 minutes.

I got a new cat put on a few weeks ago, now have some strange things going on, car seams more fumey then normal. When I picked thecar they guy said the senor didn't fit into the new cat so he wait for it…. Welded the sensor in!

I never checked the value before the new cat went in but with my limited knowledge I am taking a stab in the dark that as the exhaust heats up this value should change to help control the mixture or something like that.

Cheers for any help you guys can provide
