mate the side pipes are FANTASTIC lol. i really love them and they sound amazing with no cat and no muffler. i was thinking twin but then i just wanted to get the exhaust out of the car as quick as possible. so i went simple and just dumped it out the side. it should flow around 30% ish better then previous. but it sounds absolutle porn

yeah i was thinking about it. but i was aiming for the moon when i was in weight saving mood, and the dash is a fair bit heavier then the ally sheeet.

the conversion wont be until late august when the car returns to brisbane. beleive me, im as excited about it as anyone else lol. i just cant do it where i am atm. the car is going to be a very multipurpose car, and will be raced an any event i can get to. and yeah i am absolutly sick of being hassled by the cops so i took the plunge and made it a track car, its just much better and it means i can run a propper car. the main racing i want to start doing is sprints and hill climbs tho.

some update pics got the exhaust today, 3 inch stainless from the turbo, straight thru to dumping behind the passanger door. no cat, no muffler. screamer pipe all done bov installed most of the sound deadening out. got sick of the smell so i stopped for a while lol dyno tomorrow arvo so fingers crossed for a good result. piccys

not really, the ute was extreamly tired and needed an awful lot of work to bring it back up to scratch, and he knew that so i was more then happy with the trade

haha dumb mistake thats for sure but, happy that the turbo is allright

lol sorry i didnt put that right, turns out when i removed the inlet one of the times a bit of swarf fell in the hole, but not all the way into the chamber, so the oil coimg in was being slowed down heaps by the swarf sticking back up into the feed. so by taking it all off and spinning it around manually showed that there was no actual problem with the turbo, but the oil feed, so i looked inside the hose and found the swarf sticking up inside, removed it, re attached it. and hey presto

yeah i was hearing similar stories aswell, but so far it has not had a problem, and i like the T04e atm as its more responsive then the t 70, but idealy i would hang a gt35r on the side, but we will see. i solved it today by the way, i slowly manually spun the wheel while dripping oil in the feed and letting it come out the return, did this for a few minutes and let it sit, connected it all up again, toped up the oil and away it went, no dramas

well thats the thing, even reading around on here and elsewhere, there are almost equal positive to negative stories, and many of the negative stories of the china turbos appear to be beased on hearsay, the actual people running th egear seem to be reasonably happy with it. yes its from china. so? it seems that bar a few teething issues some of these turbos are ok, and thats what i really want to find out

yeah when i bought the car thats what was in it, and as i live way out west its not just a matter of picking up another box and swapping it in. the car is going on a train at the end of the year and heading back to brisbane so ill do a man conversion in the new year. there just isnt the facilities to do it here on that note, before the car gets back to bris i am stuck with the auto box, how much can they handle stock?
