  1. i had 346rwkws 2.5litre series 1 gts-t. drove to work and back every day. averaged 15litres per hundred kilometers in mainly 80 to 100km/h zones with a few sets of lights and roudabouts. with a mix of cruising and little squirts. hope this helps. got a mate that has a bog stock 297kw vz r8 6litre v8 that travels similar stretch of road that pulls similar fuel figures. go the turbo 2.5l!

  2. it just amazes me that in this day and age with climate change and carbon trading schemes set to go ahead with companies being able to ff-set there carbon foot prints e.t.c. here is another prime example of a car company that is not only ignoring all this with production of this car but instead of trying to make a more efficient performance car they bring out a 7litre v8! every couple of years . first a 5.7litre then a 6litre now lets just add even more weight to it and chuck in an even bigger donk. and for all the fuel economy whinges out there we will chuck in a six speed over drive , drive it at 80km/h around lang lang sitting on 1200rpm so that we can claim fuel efficiency figures that you and i in the real world will never achieve! i mean how many v8 owners dont hammer the crap out of there cars from stand still at ever set of lights ! specially when they see a 2litre import in the lane next to them. lol.my 2 cents.

  3. they are a great ecu , idles like stock . great cold start . able to run large injectors and still be run smooth. your biggest problem with and ecu like a link is that you really need to find somebody good that has the software and can tune it. and i will guarantee that any tuner that you speak to that says they are shit, obviously dosent have a good deal with there distributor avo here in melbourne. so find someone good who can tune it first then bid on it, thats my advice. i ran my link from when i had 211rwkws with gcg hi flow turbo and malpassi rising rate reg to 224rwkws , 230 rwkws , 260, 281 and finally 346rwkws hamburger with the lot!

  4. posted photo of my evo 7 at the start! of the post. cheers thanks for all the feed back guys.go the r35 gtr! hope i can update to it one day? but for now the evo will do just fine. p.s.just bought a turbo back stainless 3inch exhaust ,here we go again!!! lol cant stop the modifying bug! {drug}

  5. tommo , the seats are tight! my legs and arse went knumb after about three hours at the wheel. but you need the wrap arounds because these cars pull some gs going around corners! my old skyline would have destroyed the evo rolling start but no way standing start! and definately kills the skyline going around corners and pulling up.

  6. yeah, i forgot that you had to hold the the clutch down to start the car lol! i pulled into the first servo i came across even though the car already had half a tank of gas i wanted to make sure that i made it to at least goulburn before my first fuel stop. i was fiddling around for about 5 minutes trying to work out how to start it before i rang sam. they had shown me but i was too excited about driving her home.

    i highly recommend jap-link to anybody wanting an import car. i noticed quite a few great examples of gtrs as well. i couldnt believe how clean my evo was even the black one was awesome! it looked better at the car yard than on the photos. i swear my evo drives like brand new. i loved my 94 gts-t but stepping into a 2001 evo 7 was a huge step up, they are so quick straight from the factory.

    definately give sam and michael a go if you are in the market for a good quality well priced import. cheers carl.

  7. lol , nice comparo gts-t. a few years back when i only had 280rwkw gts-t i test drove a mates vx ss 5.7litre v8 and i hated how high i was in the seat and car felt like a school bus to drice that pulled hard down low then totally breathless once you hit 5000rpm plus. i prefered how the skyline was like a go - kart . you sit in the the skyline and you sit on top of the vx ss v8. my mate drove my skyline and told me he didnt like how laggy it was , or how when it came onto boost it would hit 7000 revs too quick! made no sense to me at the time. each to there own i guess.

  8. yes , the gtr is the king! but i want something a little newer that i can drive around more. ive been dealing with sami through the email , he has two evo 7s on special at the moment. one black one with 42klms auction grade 4 and a silver one grade 4.5 with 34klms. both cars reduced from $34k to $30k, what do you guys think? i tried to negotiate a little lower but he won't budge on price. he assured me that both cars are not accident repaired and if price is all iam worried about then that is what i will end up with. because there doesnt seem to be red book or glass's guide to what these things are worth what do you guys think?

  9. thanx for all the feed back guys, i agree with most of whats being said . i prefer the look of the gtr , its almost timeless in how tough it looks but i used to own a 346rwkw gts-t that was an absolute handful to drive . had an evo 9 desimate me on take off and through the twisty stuff and even in a straight line. it wasnt until i was in taller gears that i then sailed pass but i was very impressed. my wife ended up hating the skyline after i spent $20k on modifying it and fixing things that broke. i really need to go with the head not the heart. my wife was too scared to drive the skyline and i need something more driveable, newer,reliable and with 4 doors. you never know might end up with a gtr in the end as well they are becoming so cheap now. cheers carl.
