I have the oem plastic mat to put over the carpet when I cart gear.
I should probably hunt one of those down.
I don't suppose anyone has one for sale?
-
I was just wondering what sort of mat you guys use for the boot?
I've been using the cut away rubber mats from Clarks rubber or Super Cheap Auto.
I must admit I give the boot area a bit of thrashing carting stuff around a lot but these rubber mats seem to degrade fairly easily.
How do people find carpet ones for dirt and grime?

For Melbourne South East area:
I've found Rob at Sabbadin Auto to be quite honest, competent and helpful.
http://www.sabbadinautomotive.com.au/garage.php
They've got a dyno there and do some fabrications of exhausts and stuff. I think he specialises in rotary engines and turbo builds.
He's really good at chasing down info and parts which comes in handy when you come up against a less than straight forward problem.

The rear should.....front would be more inline with a V35 me thinks!
Thanks.

I'd like to get some bits if they are compatible.
Does anyone know if these will fit a 2007 rear wheel drive PM35?

So are any manual RWD variants able to be brought in with the current compliance that is available?
I was considering one of these, but wouldn't waste my time with auto or 4wd.
I was looking at the Jap Auction sheets earlier this year and the few manuals that pop up are going for quite a lot or being passed in unsold as the owners are expecting a fair bit for them. Obviously things change but from memory not much was being sold for under 1,300,000 yen.
Geoff from Prestige Motorsport offers free trial membership where all of the Stageas going to auction are emailed to you each day and you can log in the next day and check their sale prices.
At current prices I'm not sure Ben from Northshore will buy too many manuals on speculation but if you were serious you might be able to have him source you one. Or just wait and they'll drop down in price over time and then I'm sure they'll start appearing here.

It was recommended by the installer (http://www.fhrxstudios.com.au/)
It talks well to 3G iPhones, and has a very adjustable EQ.
Did you just put in the head unit or did you do speakers, amp, sub etc as well?

DrMoShen - I have an AXIS that has had the factory stereo removed.
The entire plastic dash surround has been replaced with a new one that takes a double DIN unit. It doesn't quite colour match, but you wouldn't notice at first.
I've got an Eclipse CD5030 head unit installed that works really well.
The radio is hooked up to the factory antenna and the reception is good. You just need an adapter to combine the two antennas.
Cheers.
What swayed you towards the Eclipse over other units?

Northshore Prestige has their first 350RX up for sale now:

Andrew, if you do not want the integrated setup that you have seen in the ARX, get an RS.
You will be hard pressed to find an RS with all the goodies, but it is the only option without the integrated unit.
RX, ARX and Axis al have the integrated unit and all RS's have the separate Clarion unit with 3 gauge DIN.
I am sure that you can always change the headunit over and connect it up with the integrated unit though.
OK
Is there a common work-around or fix for the radio in the integrated unit?

I've noticed that a lot (possibly all?) M35's have the stereo controls moulded into the centre console set up as opposed to the old swappable DIN system.
I'm assuming the radio frequency range still cuts out too low on the FM band like other imports.
What are the options for replacing the stereo?
What do most people do?

The turbo itself is specific to the M35, the turbo problems are not. I believe the issues are exactly the same as with earlier model stageas, however the M35 runs more boost as standard, particularly the ARX (going by the posts above or on prev page), making a turbo failure far more likely on the M35 than previous stageas.
The turbo uses a ceramic turbine which tends to come unstuck from the shaft or shatter when it is exposed to a certain amount of heat for a certain amount of time. If you search all over these forums (skyline R33 & R34 have same issue) you'll find that its generally agreed that 14psi is pretty much the limit for these turbos. more pressure means more heat and if you run 14 or higher psi for any length of time, sooner or later the turbo will break. Why Nissan released the car from the factory running such high boost on these turbos will probably remain a mystery. It seems they were aware of it because the turbo is apparently supposed to be replaced at 100,000km.
My RS is stock and runs around 11-12psi which by rights should be fine (my turbo is still going very well at 108,000km) but the bottom line is that if you buy an M35, bear in mind that the turbo may need replacing at some point. It should cost under $2K to replace it with something similar to the factory one, and from there it will likely never need replacing again.
Thanks for the info.
So if I end up with a Series I or II then the turbo may still be an issue (as per any any other parts of the car) but it is less likely as the boost has been running lower over it's life time (provided the owner hasn't increased it).

$28-29k?? thats not unreasonable! thats very tempting to upgrade if i could get enough of a trade in for my car. which i probably wouldnt
The import duty drops from 10% to 5% in 2010 that might equate to about a $1-$2K saving on a $30K+ car. So it'd be worth holding back until that saving takes effect. Though this may mean your car is worth less as well...

Do you have any sort of Road Worthy Cert system over there?
The reason I'm asking is I'm in Melb and anything that I get has to get a RWC (And I'm thinking if it passes the SA version it should pass the Vic).

Please excuse me if this has been posted elsewhere but I couldn't see it.
I was talking with Northshore Prestige yesterday and they said they've now got approval for compliance of the VQ35DE engine (and that they were the first and only at the moment). Evidently there's a 2006 Stagea that should be available in a couple of weeks (it's been to the Ford factory in Geelong for testing) and quite a few more on the way.
He seemed to think it'd be priced at about $28-$29K.

Hi,
I'm looking at get a Stagea shortly and I thought I'd do the appropriate intro.

then i wounder what you think is useful? should i come up with some new technology for making the cars go faster without modifications? for every post?
i have posted in the areas i think is intressting, and the posts is comments to some mods to the skyline cars when the user has asked for other users opinions.
and also beacuse ONE user on this forum has offerd me some help with the JS Auto Import issue I have.. and he want me to send him a PM. And i can't
do this unless i got 10 post wich i have now..
I hear ya.
But I guess it is what is.
