1. I would like to get the usual upgrades like fmi, intake, full exhaust, and tune. Not after a full aftermarket ecu, maybe a piggyback or remapped std ecu. This appears to get around an extra 70-80kw at the wheels, and approx. 110Nm torque which will be plenty for me. For these mods the qoute was just under 11K. Most tuners are dabbling in different makes, so hopeing someone on here knows a non-euro bunch that can mod the 335.
2. in sydney. I'll go onto their site. cheers
3. Just wondering if any of the tuners you go to also have experience with modifying bmw 335i's. Ive sourced ones that specialise in these cars, and feel they are very overpriced. eg. intercooler $2300 downpipe - $2200 ecu tune $2200. cat back exhaust $3200. thx
4. Is that a cervelo in the background ? Also have enjoyed the write-ups on the car.
5. ACA are leaders in low-life TV. Top gear should employ Gordon ramsey to rebut Grmshaw. Im sure he could conjure up a few things about her and the other male reporter.
6. I've been on-and-off visiting this part of the forum for a while. I had my heart set on the R35, but Ive over-riden the emotions and gone for practicality. The e60 M5 was the best compromise. I didnt want to be one of those trying to sell the R35 after 12 months on carsales. Anyway to the point, Im in the UK curently and picked up the EVO mag today. Article was on the LFA. Here is a side-bar regarding it and the R35. Thought you owners would be interested in the comments. If it's japanese and fast, does it have to face up to the GT-R? No it doesn't. I drove a GTR to meet the LFA and drove it away again from Mayfair. It's a staggering machine, but it's so different in concept and execution to the lexus that the two just can't be compared. believe me they can't. Where the Nissan isolates the driver and extracts absurd speed from any given situation, the Leus is old-school- sow and reap. The GTR offers peerless on-demand action, but it's all-done by 6500rpm, just when the LFA goes ape and begins making very expensive noises. I'd like to say that on anything less than dry, smooth asphalt the GTR is quicker, but given how freakishly fast it is everywhere, I dont doubt the Nissan would be faster just about anywhere. But that misses the point. The best supercars have an otherwordly quality of unobtanium about them; the LFA has it, the GTR doesn't. And don't listen to people (tall ones who present TV shows) who counter with some rot about it not being worth six GTRs. I suspect that most people who buy and LFA will also have a GTR- making them both discerning and irritatingly fortunate. Dont expect to see a twin test any time soon"
7. Are there any bikes with gears that would suite a 6 yr old ? I road cycle and want my son to get into it, as he loves riding his little bmx. But with no gears getting up hills is too hard for him.
8. I had a really good test drive of the passatt cc. same engine and gearbox as the R36. The performance wasnt overwhelming, but this is expected coming from a worked rex. great interior, fantastic seats, and for the money, much better value than the other euro's.
9. http://drive.gtchannel.com/?c=127&a=1596 interesting summaries at the end
10. I sold my R33 GTS25T for a 2003 wrx. It is not as solid as the R33. other than that it is a better car. Like others have mentioned, the awd in the wet and so on. cant see the point having a heavily worked rear-drive which just wheel spins. Mine is heavily modded, but nothing has happened to the 5spd for the 3 yrs Ive owned it. This model 5spd were stronger built than previous models. This is usually the case if you dont use a HD clutch and stick with the oem. 2000 and below models I believe have a crap safety rating. They explode like water melons on impact.
11. I lease equipment and a car from medfin, but I was under the impression they lent to health professionals only.
12. The EVO boys will be laughing about this. The end shot, glorifying the EVO as being supreme.
13. the Fg range of falcons seem to be running very good times. Motor mags recording 13.1-13.3sec for the xr6 turbo and GCe6t (cant rememebr the exact name). Private drag times in the high 12s. Fg F6 seems to have ingear acceleration similar to the C63 AMGs, with 280rwkw stock. Some mag in NZealand recorded a 4.8-4.9 0-100, and a sub 13s 1/4 mile. Cant say its a better car than the R34 GTR, but its easy to argue it has a far superior engine.
14. I forgot that i even started this thread back in 2007. What the Fk was i thinking. An absolutely stupid idea. Obviously i had nothing to do at 1.25pm on the 3rd of Nov 2007.
