Dude we are talking about an rb25det not an rb20... I know for myself i also bought an rb20 for 1k... spent 3k swapping it around with the other rb20 i had and now its happended again all because of my stupid mechanic! Im not gonna let that happen again... And you're talking about a 25/30... I think it'll be impossible to put it on a 4wd setup. -

Nothing at all brother... I think i might forge it, it'll cost the same price as a whole engine but which will be reliable? A rebuild motor a 2nd wrecker motor? -

I just dont trust buying 2nd hand items no more mad... With the things i wanna do the motor would be absoltly impossible to break! With the stagea rb25det there is more than just changing the engine isnt it? Apparently i heard you have to run a neo runnging gear plus the loom and different diff ratios??? -
Hey Everyone, My R32 GTS4t has been sitting in my garage for more than a month now with the engined seized due to a unreliable mechanic! I've been doing my homework and quite frankly I've had enough! Well my plan was to rebuild my rb20det, but with forged tomei pistons and spool conrods and ACL racing bearings... But the budget is too much for that to happen especially when you have to bore out the cylinders to 82mm. But i thought you can't go wrong with rebuilding a motor. I just dont trust buying another motor and people have been telling me to get an rb25det? My car is awd and most of the rb25det are all rwd. There is a sump issue apparently?? So i have no idea what to do! Please give me your opinions or even your experiences if anyone has come thru what I am going thru.

This is great STUFF! Thanks, Does anyone have the R32 version of this manual?

Does anyone have engine manuals for RB20det and also rb25det? I really need the information, if anyone has them in pdf files that would help heaps thanks

Hey buddy, Thanks for the advice it really helped out. I removed the intercooler pipes and found loads of oil in the pipes... I knew it was the turbo all along, I swear i ask chasers to do something for me and they don't even listen to me... When the engine was getting swapped i specifically asked them to make sure had a look at the turbo but no they didn't... Can't even find decent mechanics around these days... Thanks mad for your help, much appreciated... Im gonna get into it and get it fixed

Thanks a lot guys, i'll have a look tomorrow morning... If i cannot find anything i might remove it and send it out for repairs or possibly a rebuild but who knows what it might be... Hopefully nothing too major... Thanks heaps for your help, i'll let you guys know what happens...

I don't understand what you're trying to say? This turbo apparantly come with nylon type compressor wheels... maybe they are not meant to last long in high boost? I don't know, all i know is this turbo is stuffing up my engine... Too me i really hate polluted cars especially when its mine... Does anyone live around the western suburbs of Melbourne... If so what mechanic would you recommend to go and I'm definatly not going back to Chasers Motorworks... Thanks guys...
-
They pretty much put the same turbo that was already on my other motor, It must be the turbo.... Well i hope because i reckon it'll get worse again if i don't replace soon... It burns oil pretty quick... Do you what oil pressure it has to sit on? On a cold start it sits on 4 and when warm sits on the line before 4... Is this normal?

Dear all, I need your help and your opinions, it would be greatly appreciating if you could as I don't know what to do no more... Where should i start, Well I've owned my car for the past 2 years now and had no problems with it what so ever until this year! I had purchased an RB25 NEO turbo and asked chasers motorworks to put it on for me. Everthing wnet swell until i had purchased a boost contoroller and boosted it to about 12psi, after a while like say about 2 months it made a very strange noise like a whining noise in early rpms and goes away when boost kicks in. I assumed it stuffed up... But after a while blue smoke had come out of no where?!! So i straight changed the oil but still blue smoke... Chasers then told me my bearings were gone, so i bought a replacement RB20 for GTS4 to swap with but also asked them to look at the turbo to see if there were any problems with it and they mentioned that nothing was wrong with it... So when they finished the job it was running smoothly with major serviced done to it... AND now its come to the time that its happened again and this time i put thicker oil and still no GOOD... What do you guys reckon it is? Does the turbo have to do with anything because ever since i put that turbo it all started going down hill with my car.... What is the best suggestion to what i should do now??? Also are BC coilovers good? or should i go for TEINs? as all my coilovers are leaking and one is seized

Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it... Still deciding and save up money... my mates friends owns a r32 just recently fitted an rb25det and still using the standard rb20det gtst gearbox and standard loom!! i think the nistune would be useful to install??
