  1. Some of these responses are inaccurate and misleading.. I feel people are just repeating theories they've read

Once again -- The cams are unlikely to be dialled in correctly

Work from "easy / cheap" to "hard / expensive".. and preferably not go backwards

Open inlet 6466 Gen2, 2.6 crank, 272 cams will work together

Might need a couple more pounds boost to get it working more efficiently, but if its coming on @ 5500rpm then there is another issue

I've driven my setup on 21psi before (gate pressure) and it basically comes on the same

A .82 rear housing is an open scroll turbine housing you need the .84 twin scroll one on a twin scroll manifold. i have a 6466 .84ts on my stock bottom end 2.6 and mine is all in at 4,100rpm

Nope, thats got nothing to do with it.. ive got an open .82 and im making 30psi at 4500rpm, running 272 10.2mm HKS cams

If the setup is only making 18psi @ 5500rpm, I would be looking at dialling in the cams better

    Edit:

2860-5s are way shitter in every way compared to the 6466, do not consider buying them, fix the issue with your setup

  3. Any on-going reviews on using a Quaife rear diff?

I currently have a Quaife in the front and a stock in the rear which has started single pegging

Im tossing up between the Nismo and the Quaife

The car is a 32 GTR with 767whp, and is mainly used for straight line stuff and a once a month street lap basically

My main concern is that the Quaife in the rear wont be aggressive enough for a high power car doing big antilag launches?

Having said that I have previously had a Trutrac in an SS ute and thought it was awesome, would do great donuts and clutch kick skids and it always locked up.

  4. Hey mate, i saw you were selling your turbo on facebook and was going to comme t but didnt want to f**k up your sale.. 20psi @ 5000rpm does not sound right

I use a 6466 Gen2 with .82 Vband single entry housing on my built RB26, which has a Nissan 2.6 crank and HKS 272 10.2mm cams

On E85, it makes 30psi by about 4500rpm, and makes 710rwhp

I would highly recommend this to anyone.. it has less lag than my previous 2860-5 setup, which i personally did not think was laggy.. but theres no contest when compared to a big single, it comes on like an absolute motherf**ker

  5. Opinions on a 6466 w/ .84 TS on a built 2.6 with 272/272 10.2mm lift cams?

I have poured through this thread, and as such was leaning towards the 6262 or even considered the 6062 Gen2 thats just been released - but my engine builder is telling me the 6466 is 100% the go

I trust the workshop, but just want to double check other's results; dont want something that comes on at 5k or later.. id rather it come on hard at 4.2-4.5k rpm

Its concerning seeing people say a 6466 outflows a T51R

  6. double post:

Just saw the Gen2 6266 and 6466 are listed too. oops

    800 and 900HP respectively

    6266 Gen1 735HP

    6266 Gen2 800HP

I'd love to see side by side dyno results

Im also keen to see results of Gen2 6062 and Gen2 6266 units..

Ive found 6466 vs. Gen2 6466 on a US Supra forum and it was identical spool, but with +30hp around the peak 1500rpm

  7. How could you possibly know/understand the hype if you never drove it?!

Evo's are purely a drivers car and unless you drove it the way it was built to be driven you will never know. My evo made 312kw on a hub dyno on the stock turbo on E85 full boost was by 3200. It would crack 0-100kph in I believe less than 4 seconds still running the stock clutch today even after a turbo upgrade :)

This may be true, maybe I missed out and shouldve pushed for a drive and my opinion may have been different.. im glad I at least when for a lap in one as every time I think about a new car an evo was always at the back of my mind but I never actually went to look at any.. I dunno, maybe next time I guess..

Either way i wont lose any sleep.. the 360awkw GTR in the garage makes me pretty happy

Edit: I should mention that my car also cruises at the speed limit just like every other shitbox on the road.. so no the power is not "too much" for the street

  8. So you didn't actually drive the car?

    Nope.. didnt need to..

Handed over cash having only riding shotgun for the last 4 cars Ive bought, and sold the last 3 cars Ive owned without prospective buyers driving them..

Evos didnt live upto the internet hype for me.. and I rocked up ready to buy.. the general internet concensus of them is awesome; they dont break, they handle ridiculous, close ratio box, great stock brakes, modern tech, etc.. dunno just didnt do it for me

Either way, youre obviously happy with yours!

  9. Also how shit is the suspension and tyre setup for 260rwkw to be undriveable on the street?

I used to regularly drive (and be passanger in) my best mates old 250rwkw VL (rb25 + hks 2830), sure it'll light up 2nd and change lanes.. just make sure no ones around when you give it full throttle.. he used to daily it perfectly fine funnily enough.. had shit VL suspension (king springs and flogged out monroe shocks) and china 205s on the rear..

As for "nannas corolla" getting ahead of you cos you have 300rwkw.. you guys all realise that acceleration doesnt automatically mean flatten the throttle to the floor? Theres varying degrees between 0% and WOT..

Lag for that power level is measured in a fraction of a second, lets not get too ahead of ourselves talking on the net.. the reality is full boost by 4k isnt laggy on the street.. its a 2.5L 6 they rev fast.. 4cyl turbos kick in later in rev range but rev faster.. same same

  10. You couldn't be more wrong! If you're a straight line hero sure an evo may be "boring" but if you like cornering at speeds that boggle your mind and g forces that have your face stuck to window it NEVER gets boring! I've owned a crazy responsive 336kw GTST and now built my evo up to around the 300-320kw zone (no dyno yet) and the evo is alot faster and responsive than my skyline was.. I still drive out of corners in the evo shaking my head thinking WOW with the grip it has Nearly 2 years later.

Just got out of it then and came out of a roundabout in 2nd gear fed it on and it started spinning all 4's and drifting slightly. Boring is sitting around spinning wheels going nowhere IMO ;)

    Depends what you want..

I was 100% keen to go buy a Evo9.. got taken for a spin in one with BBK Full and 272 Cosworth cams, etc.. got out and thought that while it was quick it was pretty boring and didnt feel "dramatic".. i think its the close ratios in the box

Went and bought another GTR.. spinning 275 tyres in 2nd gear just by hitting boost is considerably more exciting..
