edit: i still have lock nuts for you haha

  2. i was at a blokes house the other week doing a job.. noticed he had a new aston dbs (or db9, they all look the same to me) in the garage.. started talking to him about it.. he told me it was his daily driver

i said the obvious thing about avoiding carparks, etc.. and he told me already he's had some bitch in a hundi swing her door into it!

    people are fkn retards

  3. here you go.. im sure there are other photos of this floating around the net, i first saw flicks of it a couple years ago

satin black looks a heap better than just flat black too -- usually satin looks like it was done properly, and flat black just looks like you did it with $2 tins of spray paint even if done correctly..

  4. The problem with the GT is that until Ford put a ridiculous amount of power into the thing, or shed a ridiculous amount of weight, and properly seperate it from the rest of the product range as a true flagship...it will never be a shadow of the original GT (or HO). 12.9, is nice, but compared to the rest of the FPV and HSV offerings, nothing really special. A flagship GT that would have EVERYONE talking would IMO be capable of a low to flat 12 from the showroom.

Although not the same far reaching heritage as the gt or gtho namesake; the hsv gts is now merely a clubby r8, not a real gts as previously the gts of the lineup had a different motor and early on different boxes (4 bolt main/grp a block, aussie stroker motor, hrt blueprint stroker, callaway built ls1)

Ford releasing a factory blown gt trumps hsv trying to pass off a fake gts so they can tell customers that their current ones are cheaper than previous gen ones..

Sorry.. Its something that really irks me for some reason, and ive previously owned a commo and a hsv, never a ford

  5. ^ don't listen to this kid he's an idiot. Doesn't even own a nissan.

    Go back to supra forums

uncalled for dude.. you're on a skyline forum for a start.. this isnt skylines-and-4doorsilviasaustralia.com

tenfour has owned a few, and his last one would certainly have trounced your ceff

  6. from what i understand "road rage" is a "hoon" offense..

i thought members of the public could sign a stat dec that someone had committed a "hoon" offense and that they'd be prosecuted?

..or does it only apply when prosecuting the owner of a modified car?

  7. I have a decat.

I'm a poorkunt and can't afford a high-flow cat. I run a decat to suffocate babies, rape single mothers, set fire to old people, blind and deafen as many children as I can, AND let's not forget - I'm the reason fuel prices are so high because the excess flow I actually get makes me run rich and smash more juice down.

I've been stickered AND caught-out with a decat pipe by police actually sighting the pipe. Twice.

I didn't receive any fines for said pipe. But it is illegal, and I am actually going to hell for it.

    Twice.

    you're fkn awesome

that's easily the best post in this whole thread

after reading all this bs i wanna pull my highflow out and replace it with a straight pipe

  8. although i have no experience with auto skylines, a few years back when i had a auto commodore i had the box rebuilt with a street/strip shift kit + histall and it was definitely worthwhile doing!

it'll snap through the gears instead of sloppy lurching on shifts, way more satisfying to drive

if you can find a place that'll modify your torque convertor or go a proper histall it'd definitely be benefitial as far as getting it on boost from a standstill, i had a centrifugal blower on my commo which wouldn't start really moving til 3k but once i got the histall it'd just smoke the tyres off the line

  9. i'm actually not debating whether it's morally/legally correct to run a cat or not..

i simply hate the mis-information spread on the internet about cars and the laws, especially if it's to the point where people are talking about going to jail for a modification to a car, usually i wouldn't post but it annoyed me that much.. i like the fact there's been no link to this $10g fine for individuals.. and that somehow you'd get charged with some unknown offense if you were to ask a workshop to replace your cat with a pipe..

y'all realise you have to commit a criminal offense to be incarcerated, right? and no, the ridiculous scenario someone put forward is not realistic, nor is actually getting caught and charged for it if it were to actually happen

for the record, i run a cat on my car.. and guess what.. my car still backfires and pops an occasional flame.. oh shit, call the police, i might blind someone and kill schoolchildren!

  10. Guys.

De-cat / Flames is NOT a YELLOW sticker.

    It's a RED sticker.

And $10k on the spot fine is correct. Go look it up.

Jailtime is a possibility....not for decat, but shoot a bright white flame out, and f**k someone's car up, temporary blind them and cause them to lose control of vehicle and crash and/or die....you can garuantee you're going down for a bit more than a just a sticker.

wtf man.. you must think it's the rammstein pyrotechnics set or something? besides, you can still pop a flame even if you got a cat

surely you're just taking the piss.. and i can't tell cos it's the internet??

realisticly all that will happen is you'll get a yellow (for a loud exhaust), you put a cat on, pass the pits, remove the cat, repeat process. if a workshop gets found to be gutting cats and refitting them then yes i'm sure they'll be in strife.. but as an individual nothing will happen to you; think about how our legal system actually works..

imagine being brought up in front of a magistrate, the prosecuting cop reading out the statement of facts, "your honour, the accused was running an exhaust that was merely a straight pipe - he actually removed the catalytic convertor!! i know it's not my place to say, but really your honour, this guy is up there with HITLER!" ..the magistrate then agrees and decides that you're best off being segregated from our much more civilized society, where people don't just run *GASP* straight pipes off the motors in their 15yr old japanese cars! leave that for the 3rd world, that's nothing more than savagery!! then the magistrate nods to the court police who slap the cuffs on you and take you into the next room so that they can whisk you away, where you rot behind bars for the rest of your days..

yes.. maybe you'll think twice about this "de-cat" business - it's your life!

  11. At the end of the day you really need to judge it on application basis

It's all fine and dandy to talk about either going turbo or blower on a RB/CA/SR/1-2JZ or something similar; where there are cheap, ready turbo manifolds and entire setups are availalble (OEM no less!), but consider an efi motor which didn't come out turbo from the factory.. what a massive headfark and much larger expense to get turbos on it..

The other thing is legalities, or perception of legalities. Pop the bonnet of a 5L Commodore with a dirty big single turbo setup.. a cop doesn't know what he's looking at, but knows that all this pipe work and this thing that you've have to 'massage' the strut tower to fit is certainly not legal. I drove around for at least 2 years with an unpermitted blower, was pulled over a heap of times.. even had a cop shine his torch around my engine bay and literally failed to notice a blower roughly the size of his head hanging off the throttle body. Having said that no one ever said anything when i was driving through RBT stops and this thing was whizzing it's head off at idle..

Maybe I've gone too far in one direction here.. that's mainly for N/A to forced air setups..

There's no way I'd remove a factory turbo setup to go a blower, that's a reverse headfark that's unnecessary as well.. it would be a crazy thing to buy a XR6T and remove the GT35/40 only to replace it with a Whipple, and that's a 4L motor..

I think in a video game world where effort for work was nil and everything was instant and easy, then you'd go turbos every time.. otherwise there's definitely grey areas
