    Rb26 Head

Hey I m after a new/second hand recondition RB26 head for my R33 GTR. Mine has an internal crack between the oil galley and water galley and has been pressure tested etc and it cannot be repaired. Can someone point me right direction of where I can get one don’t mind if it’s local or mainland. I have tried a couple places in Hobart with no luck and keeping an eye on the forums. I m guessing this is going to be a hard part to source. I might need to buy an engine someone is wrecking just to get part
  3. Here is a picture of my radiator cap
  4. The first tip happened to my R33 GTR just last week and i have done the gasket maybe a cracked head. Mine has oil getting into the coolant . I noticed mine getting when it was to late blew a big hole in radiator hose. Hope yours hasn't done the same thing i am up for big $$$ to fix it.

    R33 Gtr

Hey there peoples, I am after some advice/opinions on a problem I am having with my GTR. The other day my car got hot and my radiator hose basically blew up and a lot of coolant, water and oil went everywhere and I had to get the car towed. I have since taken it to a mechanic and the hose has been replaced and been pressure tested is seems the oil pressure is more than the coolant/water. The oil is getting into the water. It has only been filled back up with water . I cannot drive the car as it is only going to get hot again. By the time I took it home around the corner it was already hot. The mechanic said it could be any of the following issues: The head gasket, a cracked head or oil catcher (I think). For them to confirm what the issue is they need to pull the engine apart or at least the front of it which could cost anywhere from 2k to 5k. At the moment I don’t have that sort of cash so it basically going to sit in garage for a while. Im temepted to try an sell it with this problem but not sure how it would go. Any ideas or suggestions. Not sure if i have posted this in right area Cheers Wade

  11. Hey all this was on the Boost forum. I know its a while off but just to get you thinking and organised Summer is just around the corner and whats the perfect way to kick things off? A nice big Saturday summer outing! So here it is. As previously discussed and now in full action i am here to announce a cruise to the East Coast. Where? To be exact we will be travelling to Coles Bay. Everyone from the North and South will meet at Campbell Town on a nice Summer morning and cruise through Lake Leake Rd right through to Coles Bay where we will all have a BBQ lunch/picnic, a few games of cricket/footy and meet each other face to face. Face to Face? Yes, its time to pack those keyboards away for the day and get outside and see who the real faces are behind those usernames. This is NOT a cruise for holding grudges against someone and it certainly is not a cruise to make fun of someones ride no matter how riced up or beaten down it is! This is a social gathering for all car enthusiasts. Anyways, enough of my dribbling and banter. Heres the details below! MEET POINTS SOUTHWho: Anyone with a registered vehicle! Bring your mates, bring your family, even bring the dog! Where: Meet at Hunter Street Wharf and head to Campbell Town via Brooker and Midland. From there travel with the Northerners to Coles Bay via Lake Leake. Meet: Hunter Street Wharf @ Hotdog stand 9.30am ready for 9.45am departure. NORTHWho: Anyone with a registered vehicle! Bring your mates, bring your family, even bring the dog! Where: Meet at Bathurst St carpark and head to Campbell Town. From there travel with the Southerners to Coles Bay via Lake Leake. Meet: Bathurst Street carpark 10am for 10.15am departure. What to bring: BBQ meat, outdoor sporting gear etc. What NOT to bring: Unsociable attitude, hooning, alcohol or drugs. We're here to give the Tasmanian communities a great view of the Tassie car scene! Lets get out and support this event. Hope for a good turn out
  12. This is Sunday. Weather is going to be good, get out and support a good cause and car scene. Also Don't forget that Daylight Saving starts on Sunday morning at 2am so you need to put your clock forward one hour. So the cruise will depart at 11am, which is 12pm current time.
