  1. Partly laws against stuff like burnouts is to stop tools who don't know what they're doing from hurting themselves and others. Go to failblog.org and check out "Burnout Fail" to see what I mean. If you can't be bothered, basically an idiot in a beemer does a burnout with the door open ... and gets thrown out and nearly runs himself over.

type "driving fail" into failblog.org and review the 7 pages of results. maybe we should outlaw driving too?

  2. you want Rann to get back in , im leaving this state all together if it happens , he has policed this state beyond belief i couldnt think of a worse out come .No one should vote for this blood sucker

????? how the hell did you draw that conclusion?! in the world of betting, if something is more likely to win (in this case, Labour, according to those odds), they are worth less in a payout. conversely, those who are more likely to lose, attract a better payout, because there's les chance that it will happen. Going by those odds, Liberal is paying better, therefore the bookies have deemed them less likely to win. i said that it was depressing, looking that odds that are so far apart. if it was labout 1.50 to liberal 1.70 i'd be a bit more hopeful.

its a basic question of where do you start?

PR! ACTUAL public relations, not charity cruises that get 5 lines in the corner of the third last page in a newspaper (not that charity cruises aren't good, but you can't go to a charity cruise and try and leverage PR from it. You're meant to be giving the PR to the chairty.)

you start with an organised body who are united by a common cause, with a common goal and are willing to do something about it. you create a definitive set of guidelines that these members will abide by and you create a public presence based on those actions. you take the Ghandi approach to everything that is thrown your way, until people start talking about you, then you start throwing your message out there.

it really is not that hard. it just requires good people, time, money and a bit of dedication. generally those four are found on forums too, but not all in the one place.

  3. I can understand what your saying Josh..... but, had it all gone wrong and bystanders were injured or killed (and I'm not just talking about Rundle St on Friday night) then how would one define the crime?

You argue that the penalties are too severe and that the government has no right to crush cars?

What right does anyone have to endanger the lives of other innocent road users?

i wrote a massive reply and then lost it :nyaanyaa:

vr4nut on ns.com summed up what i was saying pretty well though: http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=5653836

    laws.

    laws laws laws.

because a road is 60km/h, is it safe to do 60?

thanks to excessive, stupid laws we are breeding a f**king retarded country.

i'm in italy at the moment and was in poland two weeks ago and everyone speeds like crazy. they don't get reamed over here if they are speeding, in face in poland you get pulled over if you AREN'T speeding, because the cops think you're up to something.

common sense is being bred out of society. it is up to the individual to make a decision for themselves and then act upon it. i am sure that 9/10 australians believe that burnouts are unsafe because they are illegal, yet those same 9/10 assume that doing 60km/h is safe if the sign says so, regardless of the three year old on the footpath with the soccer ball.

they will make more laws, everyone will get dumber, retards like rann will manage to stay voted in for longer, retirees will be happy in their dream world, and all you motherf**kers will call me deej.

if you want something nice and depressing, here's the current odds on the liberals winning the election:

    http://www.sportingbet.com.au/uipub/sport....mp;l3id=1250700

Does anyone know where I can go to find out exactly who i can vote for in my electorate?

  4. and as much as im all for violence and revenge and bloodshed, the law sees fit to think otherwise

the law disarmed us of our proactive protection methods and then armed the police with reactive measures, that are somehow meant to do the same thing. now, we will NEVER have the chance to vote for those measures to be re-instated. if the choice came down to, "Abide by the law and regret for the rest of my life, the harm that came to a loved one." or "Make sure that my family is safe, even if my own freedom is lost." i don't think any free-thinking individual would have to think twice about which to choose.

i am no conspiracy theorist, but every day i am watching perfectly reasonable freedoms being removed from us, for no good reason, mostly without our input. i am also noticing that the law only seems to keep in line those who abide by it.

the amount of fear that is bred into perfectly normal, law abiding citizens, purely to keep them in line, is absolutely astounding. sometimes i worry that it will never get any better. life shouldn't be about fear.

  5. has anyone else tried 98 from mobil? we've found that you use it about twice as quick as BP 98... we tried it when driving from Brisbane to adelaide, so same driving circumstances as all the other tanks of BP 98 we had...

  6. you could probably buy the plate for less than a spanner and bend that instead.

jap wreckers would probably be your best bet. otherwise you could start asking around shops for anyone they might know who'd sell something like that.

tbh, i'm kinda surprised there's not a good (esp. quick) method of r n r'ing bars and skirts, without the clamps on the outside...

  7. At a guess Craig, I think what he's trying to say is, that if something happend that was against the law that didn't affect anyone in anyway, shouldn't be punished or shouldn't be that harshly frowned upon.

But like I said before, a crime is dumbed down to breaking the law. breaking the law has punishments to stop people from doing them again or not at all.

    I think..

my apologies, i should have been a bit clearer. yes, that i what i was trying to say. it is absolutely ludicrous that crimes against the state attract such insane penalties. i wasn't arguing that they shouldn't attract any kind of penalty, but the penalties for these kind of victimless crimes are just not justified. car crushing is probably the best example. why should it be ok for the state to seize possession of potentially the most expensive piece of equipment you own and destroy it, despite the crime you committed having absolutely no impact on anything around you? more to the point, why would anyone with the power of rational and critical thinking, approve of such nonsense? FURTHER to the point, did you vote for this shift in law? did anyone vote for this shift in law?

  8. lol, a victimless crime is still a crime.

and you're fine with that? more to the point, are you fine with the exorbitant fines and possible jail terms associated with committing a crime against the state? ie: a crime that hurt absolutely nobody?

  9. if you have the cash available, i would go with the AWD system :D

best of luck! i look forward to seeing how it goes :P

  10. whats it good for just more air passing through or is it better to tune with?

the RB25 afm can only detect so much airflow. if you add more airflow (ie, more boost/bigger turbo), then you need to upgrade your AFM (Z32), or look at another alternative for measuring the extra airflow ;)

the RB25 one will get you a little ways yet though  your turbo will run out of puff first

  11. Two turtles decide to go camping out in the woods. So they pack their tent and an esky, with beer and sandwiches. They drive out into the wilderness, pitch their tent, start a fire, then decide to whip out a beer. "Ahh shit," says the first turtle, "We forgot the damn bottle opener." "No problems," says turtle two, "Just go home and grab it. I'll keep an eye on the camp site while you're gone." Turtle one looks at him and says, "No way! As soon as I leave, you're going to eat those f**king sandwiches. I am NOT leaving you alone with those sandwiches." "Nonsense!" says turtle two, "We came here to camp together! As if I'm going to eat the sandwiches while you're gone. Go get the damn bottle opener for christ's sake." So turtle one gets into the car and leaves.

Two hours pass and turtle one hasn't returned yet. Turtle two keeps looking at the esky, reminding himself that he has to wait for his friend, who can't be too far away.

Six hours have passed and turtle one still isn't back. Turtle two is starting to get pretty hungry. Turtle one surely can't be that far away, he must have got a flat or something, which he's taking his time with. So he turns his back to the esky to try and avert his hunger.

A day has passed. "This is ridiculous. I'm going to have to eat the sandwiches so that I have enough energy to walk home. Where the hell is turtle one?" says turtle two. He opens the esky, pulls out the sandwiches, rips the cling wrap off and stares at the sandwich, as he brings it to his mouth, thinking about just how tasty it will be and how his hunger is finally going to go away, when turtle one jumps out from behind the tent and yells at him, "SEE! I KNEW IT! I KNEW YOU'D EAT THOSE f**kING SANDWICHES!"

  12. am i correct in saying that nistune can do the following...

    -Air/Fuel mixtures - Yes

    -timing - Yes

-can you remove speedcut? - Yes

anything eles nistune is good for??? - As long as Matt (NIStune creator) has found the signal for the function, anhy function that is being controlled by the factory ecu, can be controlled via nistune.

can u use nisstune for tuning to move to e85 fuel??? - Yes, but you can't "easily" switch between tunes unless you have the individual software license. NISTune is not capable of storing more than one tune on the daughterboard at once. In order to run a tune for 98 again, you'd either have to get your tuner to put it back on, or keep a copy of your 98 tune on your pc and put it back on yourself.

and what are the pros and cons of using e85?? - Pro's: You can tune more power out of your car, before detonation kicks in. Con's: You use comparitively more of it than you do regular 98, so you often need bigger injectors/better fuel setup to cope with the increased demand.

    replies in bold

are there any other recommended mods bar the following that should be installed prior to tuning the nistune...

    -FMIC?? is it totally necessary

-3inch turbo back exhaust free of any bullshit :)

-intake set up(again is it totaly needed? ive read that the airbox on stags is twice the size it needs to be b4 restricing (maybe a highflow panel filter??)

    -boost controller (electronic of course)

-in a perfect world a bigger turbo would maximize the performance... and help fuel i spose with a slower wind up.

all of those would be great mods to have before a tune  at the very least, most people say at least a free(er) flowing exhaust before tuning a stag.

  13. msy are the cheapest, their customer service and parts availability still sucks but they do have several branches for you to choose from. for what its worth i still order most of my stuff from pccasegear.com.au which is based in melbourne.

    -D

    cheers mate :P

Go i9, ETA is First Quarter of this year.

...You also have IT Warehouse in SA too, your closest ones are at Christies/Noarlunga on Dyson Road and one at Marion on Marion Road, excellent service from these guys

o rly?! am scoping specs now... thanks for the details about IT Warehouse too :D

  14. hey guys, have just moved to sa (christies) from qld. just wondering, is MSY "it" for pc bits in sa?

where i lived i had a choice of umart and msy, but msy were always ultra shithouse in terms of customer service and actually getting exactly the parts you were after...

going to be chasing some i7 goodness in a few months i reckon! time to start researching again! :P

  15. Why do you say you where a dickhead and its all your fault?

Big deal you had a squirt. Mate I say better luck next time and I hope the gestapo ooops I mean the cops don't catch you.

    Why the attitude you ask?

Simply its easier to walk around these days armed with a knife, stab someone and get away with it, than driving a feaking motor vehicle. And quite frankly I am not falling for this propaganda justification for revenue raising. That's the bottom line. They full well know (Govt) they tread a very thin line with the general public with this blatant revenue raising addiction, therefor "appear" to be doing something about "road safety" by picking on the lowest common denominator - young people.

Sell your car, join a gang and take your frustrations out on some poor innocent on Saturday night. You're guaranteed to get away with it. Why? Cops are on the streets looking for murderers doing 5kmh over the limit. How crazy is that? Making our streets safer? Walk through the city on a Saturday night and tell me how safe you feel. I can drive from one end of town to the other all night long. Am I surrounded by people going through red lights? even before red light camera's where installed everywhere? Am I surrounded by "hoons" doing burnouts, even before these justification laws for revenue raising where in place? The answer is NO! But this propaganda machine will have you believe if they weren't out there keeping us all safe from the murderous "hoons" we'd all be dead going for a drive on a Saturday night. When the truth is you've got more chance of being bashed WALKING! on a Saturday night.

Cops aren't cops anymore, and I feel sorry for the one's who joined the police force to help their communities. How frustrated must they be joining the force with dreams of making a difference, stopping crime, keeping our streets safe. REALLY safe from REAL crime. That's the whole point of a police force isn't it?

Don't get me wrong, there are dickheads on the road, real dangerous morons who need to be dealt with. They've always been around in every generation of drivers. But what harm is there making a few hundred million dollars along the way?

I've spent some serious hard earned money on my vehicle. My braking and suspension alone set me back many thousands of dollars. My vehicle handles and brakes better than most cars on the road. And for this, I am a target. Instead of spending my money on drugs, going out on a Saturday night getting drunk and playing up, I choose to love my car. My friends and I stay out of trouble by spending most times together working on each others cars. Like a little club, in the garage not hurting anyone. No drugs, no violence, just some mates hanging out together sharing a common interest. But as soon as we hop in our vehicles and go for a drive, the paranoia starts. And that's the state its got too. Its not a case of "if you stick to the rules, you'll be right" that's total BS!

If you drive a Toyota Camry and stick to the rules you may be right, IF you constantly keep an eye on that speedo. But if you drive a modified vehicle, you are a target. No if's or buts about it. You're a hoon, don't try to dent it. You're a danger to society."And we WILL catch you" ....

I mean come on, we have to justify our multi-million dollar business somehow. We've got to appear like we're making a difference. The thought of loosing this cash cow is unimaginable, hundreds of millions of dollars of FREE money! come on what would you do?

Make no mistake folks, this is BIG money, BIG business. That's the bottom line. Fines, fines and more fines ....

    Cha ching!

We'll end up with the safest streets in the world, make no mistake.

Just don't walk down them ...

of course... it's the same with the war on speed. if speeding was one tenth as bad as the media and the government will have you believe, you'd see a crash every 3 hours and you'd be in 30 odd crashes in your life, 28 of which you'd die from.

on the other hand, we all have a friend, or a friend of a friend who is a bikie. sure, the stories you get are a little exaggerated, but if 10% of it is even half true, there's far more "bad" shit going on in amongst those guys than there is in amongst us. yet somehow, unless they shoot at someone in the middle of an airport, nothing seems to happen.

here's the bottom line. bikies kill people/cops if you really shit them off enough. car enthusiasts don't, neither do speeders.

i am not advocating violence against the police, but that, plainly and simply is the bottom line. that is the difference between a harley (not all harley owners are bad for the record), wide-open-throttling past your open window, with the cop thinking twice about pulling him over and that nice black 34 firi9ng off some gate and the cop going "HAHA!!!!! QUOTA!!!!"

so maybe that should be the next campaign? Harley exhausts are illegally loud. Treat us all the same and enforce the rules on them as well. Let's see how that one goes.

  16. I drive a 2000 model Nissan Stagea RS-Four S. I had a 'Nistune' board installed at Springy Motors in Victoria just before we moved to Orange in central west NSW.

As far as I can tell according to their website, the nearest Nistune garage I could take my car is in western Sydney. Does anyone know of any garages within 200kays of Orange (ie Bathurst, Lithgow, Dubbo etc) that I could take my car to get the Nistune tuned/programmed?

Additionally....has anyone found that their fuel consumption is any better with the Nistune chip? I thought the economy might improve with the new ECU, but still only seem to be managing around 420-450 kms to a tank of fuel. (I would like to get the chip re-programmed for maximum economy rather than maximum power next time :) )

    Cheers,

    Tom

just having the nistune daughterboard won't make any difference to the car at all mate. you need to get it tuned before you start improving fuel economy

  17. ahh man, that's rough :) glad to see that you've got another one in the pipes though!!! :P

just out of curiosity, was the woman a bit shy of 6 foot, white/grey hair, with glasses? about 50's? sour old bitch also, what was she driving?
