  1. Hey all I have an r33 with some suspension noise and a loose back end. I put it up on chassis stands and fount that there is an inch of play in on of the rear wheels. Ball joints are busted causing this problem. I have seen replacement ones in the Internet for about $100. I had a look how to take them off an found the split pin and nut on the tie rod, and the circlip on the other side of the ball joint. They would not come out though. Do I need a special tool to get these out, or just more muscles? Also, is the ball joint the same for GTR's as it is for GTST's? And is it the same for different models R32, R33, R34? Cheers
  2. Mine has a busted ball joint in the rear. Makes a horrible clunk noise and drives like a forklift. I have the back of the car on chassis stands ATM and there is about an inch of play in the back wheel.
  3. All good now. Got one from Sydney. Cheers
  4. Hi I have just found out my maf is busted and am need of a new one. If any body has one please pm me. Looking for the J60 model with the green label and the 5 pin plug. Pete
  5. Is it the j60 part. With the 5 pin plug. Just found out mine is busted. Pete
  6. Mine is doing the same. I have a consult cable and it says the maf is busted. Get error code 12. If you have already figured it out, please let me know how. Cheers
  7. i am in bathurst NSW, thats a long drive.
  8. I have done that and it showed that the steering angle sensor and the vehicle speed sensor were faulty. Except there not, as the rear wheels steer when they should and the consult software recognises the speed at which i am travelling. any thoughts??
  9. mine was doing exactly the same thing, then my powersteering pump started squealing on startup. Most of the time now i have no power steering see my previous post
  10. Hey guys, i have the same problem on my R33. Yes the Hicas is electronic not hydraulic, buti think it is still related to the power steering pump. My pump squeals when i start the engine sometimes. Sometimes i have power steering and sometimes i don't. Usually happens when the engine is hot, or a hot day. Could try replacing the pump as the incorrect fluid pressure seems to trip the hicas light. hope this helps. BTW i will be changing my pump in a couple of weeks. will post my results
  11. What about R33 GTR coilovers on an R33 GTSt. i need to take out my lowered suspension and put in factory coilovers
  12. Oh yeah, a bit more info about me. my name is Pete and i live in Bathurst NSW and drive my skyline to Orange every day for work. 55km.
  13. will pm you soon, need a few more posts before i can though
  14. Hi all i am new to SAU. i have an R33 GTSt. Engine is all standard. Only mods are body kit and lowered suspension. Cheers
  15. Hi My car has been lowered and has 17x10" rims on the back. Which is good for traction but not for tyre life. To fit the tyres inside the wheel arches there has been about 2.5 degrees negative camber applied. The current coilovers are also too stiff, as i drive 60km to work each day. I am looking for a set of 4 stock coilovers for R33 S1 GTSt. Does anybody have any lying around their garage they want to off load. Also i am aware that i can get camber kits but that doesn't solve the stiffness problem. Cheers Pete
  16. i agree, my skyline is lowered, and is pretty stiff, but it handles great. i don't why they (gov)say that lowering a car makes it handle worse. raising it too much though is a bit dangerous. i haven't driven a 4b raised that much but they look dangerous on the road when conering.
  17. Hi Guys, I am new to this forum and i own an R33 GTS-t. The new laws that the transport minister Michael Daley has brought in about modifying suspension (lower/raise) are a ridiculous. Check out this link http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,25790506-29277,00.html It basically says that anybody who lowers/raises their car is a "hoon", which is ridiculous, and any suspension modification has to be certfied by an engineer. The transport minister says that cars that have modified suspension are a danger to everybody else on the road, which is not true unless a idiot is driving, and the same idiot is more of a danger in a car with unmodified suspension. The laws are set to take effect on 1 august 2009. As skyline owners i thought everybody should have an objection to this as i figure most of you will have lowered cars, and most of them not certified, which is the position i am in. the following link is a petition for the laws to be reconsidered. Please sign this petition http://www.thepetitionsite.com/94/help-save-the-future-of-modified-cars-in-nsw My brother is a 4WD driver and has a raised car, and he has the same objections. Cheers Sneaky Pete
