ok, excuse me for sounding f**kING PISSED OFF during this post!! After many months of my motor rebuild they finally started it today.. AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A TRAIN!! I havent heard it myself but the descripting i was givin was "It sounds like a train, like there is a block of metal inside a cyclinder" Does anybody know what this noise could be????? ps. No I wont be paying a single cent for the rebuild. pps. The description of the noise was from the guys that put the motor in, not from the wankers that built it! HELP please.... hey, im just wondering if i were to remove the ignition fuse could the car be hotwired still? this is in an r32

i have acl race series too.. got them from mark. got the main and big end bearings, they will be in a motor with around 600hp, they were quite cheap too. although i am yet to fire up the motor.

nope there are no problems.. put one of his dump/front pipes on my old gts4 no worries

engine bay... motor wont be in until the weekend.. im hoping anyway

i should also mention the motor will be under warrenty.. i will check how long for tonight, but its either 6 or 12 months.

I have receipts for over 12K that i have spent on the car over the last month. over $8000 of this was in parts alone. the plates are not included with the sale. the motor currently has 0kms on it. the motor gets installed in a few days. the car has 130000kms on a nismo dial. I am after $30,000. Nothing has been spared on the rebuild of this motor and will support big HP. The bottom end has also been balanced. I will do a swap for a cheaper car like a silvia (manual, turbo) + cash. as long as i get 18-20k cash

yeah, apparently somwhere near the oil filter. i havent seen it or anything so im not sure what they are talking about. is it like a tiny good for nothing style cooler?

hay, just wondering if r32 gtrs have standard oil coolers at all? apparently they found one on my gtr but i didnt think they had standard coolers? ive never seen one for sale or anything like that

i dont think taking the plenum off just to paint it is worth the blood sweat and tears. i just did mine because i have the enging out

make sure you clean the surface with metho or something that doesnt leave any resedue.. like electrical contact cleaner. again clean the surface after primer before you paint.. sand the primer back and apply more primer till its heaps smooth.. then wet and dry it, then clean n paint

sweet thanks for that.. i WAS going to wait before i installed the new fuel pump.. but i think to be safe i will get that put in too. the injectors were tested about 3 months ago so they should be fine. thanks

Doughboy: its from pistons 4 and 5. sorry i dont have pics of bearings and crank. but the crank was fine. i never heard and detonation or anything geoff: thanks, i guess something like that must have happened.. i just thought it was weird how the driver didnt go all the way in and thought it may have been changed.. thanks for the info

so thats normal for an R32? why is the side of the piston all scratched up? there are big scratches like this on 2 pistons, and all the other ones have similar marks but not as bad. or is normal to have scratches like that?

we found out why my rb26 died, it wasnt from too much boost like we first thought. this is the side of one of the pistons: scratched up pretty bad and we think this was the problem: perhaps in japan they upgraded the pump but used the standard crank. so for the other guys building there rb26's, if your going to upgrade to an N1 oil pump, you might want to get a 33gtr crank, or atleast get the standard one built up so the driver is longer

my bad.. it was one of the 2 also it might not be the turning off/on quick that puts it in safe mode.. it could be turning it back on when the car is only JUST rolling. i remember turning it off to get RWD and turned it back on quickly cuz it was about to stop rolling.. then max boost was 8psi also, what is better for the car/ABS while doing a burnout with the breaks on. having ABS on or off?? or does it not matter?

wait a couple of seconds before you turn the car back on otherwise it may cause the car to run in safe mode. this will cause it to run STOCK BOOST EVEN IF THE BOOST RESTRICTOR IS REMOVED. amazing hey
