  1. thanks Drew. yeah very exciting to see it come together

the only piece we are leaving as stock is the rear fenders, are you going carbon widebody rear also or is it still secret squirrel?

cant wait to get both of our cars out on the track at QR!

are you thinking you guys will make it out to the Ruzic practice day at QR on the 7th of July?

yeah the rear will be carbon widebody too. What I cant wait for is 2 35's screaming past a certain radical sr8 haha.

Doubt I will make July 7.. the next one that I might make is the Nissan day towards the end of July.

It would be a shame to miss out on that one.

  3. Drew, some reckon that with the weight of our car we should be more towards 35 psi, I normally run around 35 psi but experiemented with 31 hot on tuesday. My tyres look fine and wear is good and even, with a fine ripple over the entire surface. did you check any temps on the day?

do you have any suspenison components rubbing?

damage during mounting i suppose is the only other thing I can think of.

either way mate, sorry to see your day ended like this, you were putting out some impressive times.

Nah, didnt check tyre temps on the day.. I will be sure to do this in the future though.

No components were rubbing on the tyre from what I could see.

The guys from WRS have the tyre now and will give it a good look over

Yeah its a shame this happened, but then I dont think I would have got much more track time in with the rain soon after.

How did you end up going with times? get back out there later in the arvo?

  4. Had this happen to me on tuesday

    181904_1283235217183_1719195671_507243_6217350_n.jpg

    Any thoughts?

I have been running 4 deg camber for last 5 track days, last 5 track days I have been using 2nd hand pcup slicks.

On tuesday I used new slicks and this happened at the end of 3rd session, (about 15 mins on track)

Tyre pressue was 37 after 1st session.. I then dropped to 28... So would have been a bit over 30 when this happened.

There were no lockups and the wheel didnt hit any curbs.

    Thanks for any help.

  5. Feb 5 is my 1st time out at lakeside. who else is going? any new mods from last year? whats times are people chasing?

I have booked driver training for the day to help me along the way and to learn the track a little quicker.

From the stories about this track im worried, but will take it slow until I know what Im doing out there.

Cant wait to get this time attack season underway!

  6. thanks Drew, saw you got a 55.04 out there today. did you manage to crack into the 54.xx's? Bill was hitting some PB's also

its been said before, but damn these cars are quick!

didnt do better than 55. group a and b joined as one and I couldnt get a full lap in without going off line. Then out of fuel.

Yes, damn quick cars! cant wait to get back out there next year

  7. This picture is in the sun:

    gtr35-3.gif

    This is in shade:

    gtr35-1.gif

I have lowered the car about a half inch more than before.. So its probably 2 inch lower than stock now.

To be honest, I dont think any wheels with dish look good at stock ride height. If your not going to lower it you wont find a better looking wheel than stock.

Also, if I could go back in time I would have matt black centre and gloss black lip.

I have couple more pics on my blog too.

  8. Thanks for comments, yes I quite like them.

Domino: The quality is very good, nothing wrong with them (which is expected)

Yep, these are the matt bronze with gun metal lip. I saw a picture that a supplier took just after I ordered and it made them look glittery and much lighter.

In real life they look more like the AVD photo shoot pics.

I did weight them (with tyres)

    front: 28.42KG

    rear: 29.9KG (stock 30.3)

I am suprised to see that the rear advs are actually lighter in stock.. Especially since the advs are 21's !

The stock run flats must be heavy.

To be honest, now that I am more interested in track work I wish I saved the money and got some carbon parts.. Or used new slicks for the next 5 years.
