  1. I have family who live in toodyay. Luckily their house was not affected by the fire, although they could see the flames from their house, and they were told to evacuate. I will definately come to this cruise, and will tell my mates about it also. Cruising for a good cause such as this is always worth it. I'm assuming its a completely open cruise? Cheers for organising it.
  2. It was the opposite for me. On a cruise like 7 weeks back, me in my commodore, and an r32 rear ended me
  3. I've seen enough. And im not the only one who sees problems with what its doing. My old man, the tuners and a few mates ive spoken to think something is wrong. And does 420hp at 22 psi sound about right to you? the car was making 425hp at 16 psi before the boost controller change. The dyno sheet from its soft tune looked completely different, the curve was smoothe all the way to redline, there was no sharp drop in power as the rpm got higher.
  4. We've come across more problems. The boost controller is supposedly tuned, but we are losing power for some reason. Low boost is set to 18 psi, and high boost is set to 22 psi. The dyno sheet shows a nice high curve of power up to 4250 rpm, but after that the curve flattens totally. I'll attach an image of the dyno sheet. Hopefully someone has an idea of what could be causing this drop in power.
  5. Yeah, with practice getting shift points right and managing traction, mid 11s for sure. We are putting a short shifter in when it arrives which should help a bit. We didnt end up going to the drag strip, we came across some issues with the boost controller, and the clutch master cylinder is playing up too. We are getting it tuned properly on a dyno tommorow. I will be videoing it, so i will pop that on youtube tommorow arvo.
  6. A few years ago myself and my old man built this car. The original plan was to race it on the circuit, but dad was always too busy to put the time into putting in competitions. It's been complete for close to 2 years and has only seen the circuit twice, the first time with major clutch issues, the second time in the wet. It's seen the drag strip twice also, the first time also with the fail clutch, the second time after a replacement. As you can see in the pictures, the inside of the car is completely stripped, custom dash with far too many gauges, full rollcage, 5 point harnesses and bucket seats. The car weighs roughly 1300kg and is sitting on 425hp at the wheels on a soft tune of 16psi. The engine completely rebuilt rb30 with forged internals, running a GT3540 turbo. The radiator is from Glen Seton's V8 supercar from...2004 i think. The huge brake calipers are also off a V8 supercar, but i forget exactly which one. As of now its best 1/4 mile time is 12.7, this with some traction problems at the line. As the car is now, we should get it close to breaking the 11 second mark. Today we are installing a Greddy profec bspec2 electronic boost gauge, then we are going to set a lowboost of 17 psi, and a high boost of 20 psi. With this added power and a set of semi slick tyres we are hoping to get into the high to mid 11s at the drag strip tommorow.
  7. Well, if i had the money i would get an r34 gtr. I quite like the f6 typhoon aswell, the newer ones especially. Not to mention they are really quick and fairly easy to mod. I wouldnt go near the s15 though. But thats just me
  8. I love the look of the r34 GTT and GTR, but the GTR is out of my price range. I also really want the rb26dett and AWD, so what i want to know is, how hard would it be to convert a GTT to rb26dett and AWD? Roughly how much would it cost, and what is involved (besides the obvious)? Is it technically feasible to do, or should i just settle for an r33 GTR?
  9. couple of questions: To be able to comfortably get 350kw at the wheels, what size turbos should i upgrade to? I'd like to get 350kw at the wheels, with room for more eventually. What is the flange type on the stock r33 gtr manifolds?
  10. It's not going to be a daily driver, it will be a weekend car that i take on cruises and to shows etc. The whole car will have work done to it, not just the engine. I plan on redoing the whole interior, possibly a 2 tone paint job and good stereo setup.
  11. Hey guys. I'm a new reader of the skylines australia forums, and im hoping you guys can help me out. I'm planning on getting a skyline, but i'm not sure which one to get yet. I want one thats relatively stock, because i want to mod most of it myself. At this point my two main choices are an R33 GTR, or the R34 GTT. I like the look of the r34 better, but from what i've read so far, the 25 neo is more costly to get decent power out of. First of all, is that true? I'd prefer to get the tiptronic auto aswell, and from what ive seen looking on carpoint, autotrader etc, all the r33 GTRs are manual. Do they come with the tiptronic auto? and does the tiptronic auto in the r34 GTT handle decent power well? my aim is to get between 300 and 350kw at the wheels. If what ive read about the power limitations on the 25 neo are true, if i got the R34 GTT i would probably do an engine conversion to the rb26. How hard would that be, and would it be worth it, or should i just stick to the r33 GTR? So yeah, any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated. Cheers.
