  1. But if it's only running 10psi why would the ecu be cutting airflow at 10psi and not 12.5? And yer mate nistune is next on the cards mate was gonna get a consult cable and ecu talk to find this problem, if I can't then off too efi to get a nistune and z32 airflow meter...

Ok so recently just bought an r33 s1 and when I picked it up realized it wasn't running right at all wasn't even making 3psi of boost so anyway on inspection when I get home started to find pop the bonnet and find an absolute mess of what these ppl had done to it (obviously had no idea what they were doing). Ok now first of all I have the car running as best as I could get it so far after all these things I changed which included. A series 2 throttle body and tps while still retaining a s1 loom, harness plugs weren't changed or anything just jammed in too try and fit, so replaced those and set tps back to 0.45-0.55v Oil/air seperator was running from tapper cover PVC side to catch and right side was blocked 1 part and the other running to catch without a breather so I put a breather so the motor could actually release crank case pressure. Knock sensor the back 1. Wire was cut in half so re wired it and seemed to be fine.... Also the thick hose that runs from your air regulator I think to your standard cross over pipe was plumbed in after the air flow meter but in front of the turbo lol so put it back to were it should go back up the top on the cooler pipe. Also airflow meter was f**ked and oil was all sitting in the front pipe and mesh had been taken out of it so replaced it with a good second hand 1.. Now after I had done all this car is running a hundred times better but I still have 1 problem car will not go past 5k rpm it just seems to hit like a limiter and won't go past it, Now I've also replaced Coil packs bought from a mate they seemed to be in very good condition closely inspected each 1 to make sure there wasn't any cracks, as to find out the old 1's were full siliconed up. Any problem still there. So pretty much I have gone through everything I can think of to try fix this Inc. Checked all sensors Replaced parts mentioned Run diagnostics my self (34 knock sensor) still remains But it's weird cause system ses it's fine then I'll check again and still comes up?? Checked ignition timing Reset tps like a 100 times Checked all wiring and made sure all pinouts are right on ecu. And yer think that's about it probs a few other things I've checked as well but forgotten seriously any help or ideas would be excellent cause it's really doing my head in Mods are 3" zorst Are cooler kit 10psi boost Think that's about it. Also boost sensor solenoid has been taken out and wire has been ground. If all else fails was thinking about buying consult cable And DL ecu talk and see if I can find the problem that way but please somebody help me lol Thanks guys (RBJ37) Richard
  3. yer thats what i wa saying it would miss under load i know what it would be lik cause on my old vl turbo the spark use to jump out of my leads onto my cooler pipe and make it run like shit if my cooler pipe got to close to them lol hmm i dunno the only thing i can maybe think of is the timing is to retarded but meh i dunno

  5. im not to sure it seems to run fine doesnt miss or anything under load you would think if it was blowing out spark it would have to miss under load true?? but yer im not to sure how do i check ? should i just pull the coil cover thing off and maybe hve t running in the dark and see if i can see spark jumping out from somewhere ?? man i dunno help me hahaha
  6. hmm interesting well thats really good to know that its only in the tune quite funny how the vct doesnt have any affect really if the tune is altered haha hmm anyways i will see how i go wen the time comes to put the nistune in wich will probably be in the next 3 to 4 weeks

  8. yer i know that i sed has anyone got a z32 ecu for sale and i have been told no point doing the z32 airflow meter till i do injectors so all is good just need ecu and i will use the standard 3 pin afm till i upgrade turbo and injectors
  9. and does anyone have a z32 comp they wanna sell me so i can do a nistune comp if anyone has one let me know price and shizz i can get one for 250 but just seeing what else i can get cheaper thanks ppls
  10. well i have set on just 11psi so wont push it anymore then that might go for a highflow very soon as my mate works for mtq here in brisbane and builds turbos all day haha get myself a brand new highflow for about $400 pretty sure base timing should be ok seems to run fine just not as fast as i would thought it to be i think there might be another little problem as if you put your foot flat to the floor it doesnt really wanna go anywhere but if you just ease it on slowly it starts moving really need to get a tune and check timing anyway how do i do that on a rb25 as they are a lil diff to rb30's ??
  11. hey all i've just bought a vl with an rb25 in it apparently from a 1996 r33 skyline was just wondering how you could tell diff between s1 or s2 i have heard of some having vct or something and only been on series 2? is this correct how do you tell ?? sorry new to the whole rb25 thing have always owned rb30et's so any help would be great cheers RBJ37
  12. i was actually just thinking about goin to see my good mate rick at efi performance and was thinking bout goin with a nistune and maybe using a z32 airflow meter as i have heard they are the best to use and will support upto about 500hp ?? and for about 950 fitted and tuned the nistune is best bang for the buck i reckon what is everyones thoughts on even just using maybe and safc and maybe e boost2 or something was thinking maybe just goin that way as i would be happy with 200rwkw for the mean time till i upgrade to 35/40 and all the rest of the goodies and would 11 psi be ok for the street with standard turbs thats what it is on atm cant hear any pinging or anything of the sort so think should be ok maybe till i get a power run and afr to make sure everything is ok.........
  13. thanks heaps for the info but how can you get a tune with a standard ecu ?? what just timing and what not im not to sure with these 25's and there comps i only know rb30et's as thats all i have ever used i know you cant do much with a standard vl turbo ecu are 25 comps much different ?? i got nothing to tune only standard ecu ??
  14. is that a definate cause i have read so much shit that ses its ok to only run 9psi other ppl say 10 11 and 12 so what can they actually handle ??
  15. hey all just need some quick rb25 info as im new to them and dont know much about them have always had rb30et's ok so first i have just bought a vl with a 1996 r33 s2 rb25 conversion done in it mods are 3 inch exhaust and cooler using standard r33 ecu ok well it was only running standard boost 7psi but i just bought a boost tee and put it up to 11-12psi now i know they only have a ceramic rear wheel so how much boost am i safe to run ?? and how much power have ppl gotten out of just few simple mods like mine and whats acheivable with standard turbo dont wanna upgrade just yet but yer just really wanna know the boost one before i go driving it to much on 12psi any info is muchly appreciated thank you all RBJ37
