  1. My r32 GTR recently had its rear bumper reversed into. I'm looking for a recommendation of a good spray painter etc who can sand it back, replace any little bits like the reversing lights and get it all sorted. I'm looking for one in the Brisbane central area if possible, and preferably somewhere good value since it's my sister who reversed into the car and don't want to send her broke! Damage is pretty minor and may not even require a new bumper. Any recomms?
  2. Thanks, Coorparoo is a pretty good location so it would be good if you let me know of someone good there. I'm not positive the whole joint needs replacing. The car does still drive, though I haven't pushed it to engaging the 4wd since it blew. When it first went it seems to almost lock the right front wheel twice but from then on it has just spun freely. Might do best to take it in and see how badly its shagged. If you or anyone has pieces available as a back up that would be useful.
  3. It looks like the assembly connecting the front right driveshaft back to the front diff has shagged itself. The rubber boot has torn and it has sprayed its grease (lightish colour, quite thick) in a big circle across the underside [1993 GTR V-Spec]. Update - have attached pic of the offending item and its location, in case someone needs to correct me on my diagnosis. So I'm thinking I need to replace the CV joint and was wondering a about a few things: Where could I pick up a new one? Do second-hand ones pass through these forums very often? How much should I expect to pay? Anyone know a good honest workshop around the inner brisbane area? The last one I went to was good, but they had no experience with a GTR and ended up spending more than a day and half's labour on changing some bushes. Also, how long would it take to replace the joint?
  4. How much for the ashtray, cigarette lighter and surround?
  5. Interested in an ashtray cigarette lighter plus surround if available. Sorry, can't PM as I am a new user.
  6. Hi all, I've just bought an R32 GTR V-Spec and need to get a safety certificate to get the registration in my name. I took it down to my nearest shop and they've told me they can't give a roadworth for the following issues: 1. Rear subframe mounts, they say these are leaking oil, but I think they mean silicone? - I did have an inspection before buying the car and these were noted as deteriorate in line with age, but not unserviceable. 2. Front steering rack end internal bushes worn. - Again, my pre-purchase inspection mentioned them as still being in serviceable condition 3. Rear steering rack outer bushes - Again, I was told these were still serviceable and just deteriorated in line with age. 4. Rear shock top support mount - when questioned, he said he wasn't actually sure if it was the mount, or if it was maybe just loose 5. Wiper rubbers - I disagree, the wiper rubbers are fine, I assume this is the usual upselling... 6. Engine clean - I think the engine is clean enough for my liking, does it really need to be shiny to get a safety certificate? So, I'm at the point where I need the safety certificate quickly to get the registration into my name and switch from my cover note to insurance with my preferred insurer. It seems these guys are taking issue with things that my pre-purchase inspector thought weren't an issue. I was aware that none of the bushes were in as-new condition and I will replace them at some point in the next few years as and when they become unserviceable, but right now, I don't have the time or inclination and am hesitant to take this guy's opinion over the guy who did the pre-inspection. The question therefore is, what's the best way to get all this QLD paperwork done?
