  1. do you know the history of the block and head?? head might be warped or something may be cracked, oh but i see your compression is still pretty good.. unlikley its the gasket then

    yea . I was thinking mab a cracked head but i thought that was caused through over heating . Block is just a rb30e with all standard internals thrashed daily as a single cam to i chucked my head on which i got off my mate which was mint. yea still has good compression thats what i dont get . Was thinking bot retorqueing the head . Could do with a plain probly but strait edge had no gaps

  2. Got my rb30det running everything was purse as . took it for a lowkey roll on 5 psi boost everything fine. Cranked it up to 10 psi was boosting like a dream then it lowkey detonated or some shit then started running like a dog . compression on all 6 cyl are 140-150. when i pulled the oil cap off theres white foamy shit underneath .I also pulled the cam covers off and theres the same stuff at the back of the head on the cams. I drained the oil out and theres no foamy shit in there. Can the compresion still be norm with a blowen head gasket. I was thinking mab its gone between a oil and water gallery. only a cheap head gasket but brand new . 1st noticed that mab it was the head gasket when i seen the moisture in my custom 600ml sprite bottle catch can.

  3. check that the crank angle sensor still has the key way in it and is lined up correctly, also when u pull it out to check it make sure the CAS shaft isnt broken, my old gtr did this too me when i rebuilt it, it happened because i didnt use the perfect sized spacers when running it without the top timing cover

    yea algud ended up getting it going. there was a pin in one of the injectors broken and weak spark. But sussed it all . Started off on 5 pound then I raised it to 12 psi and it lasted all of 5 minutes . blew the head gasket it was only a cheap job of trademe. Going for a gtr 1 this time. Spend the money get the results youre expecting lol

  4. Put a ratchet on the front balancer bolt and turn it over with your hand to make sure it doesn't hit any valves. I accidentally put my timing belt on 180 degrees out once and the pistons bent some valves, it didn't hit that much but it was enough to tweak the valves so they didn't seal properly.

    yea still turns over sweet with a rachet the number 1 piston is at the top when all 3 marks are aline is that right? . You rekon give it a compression test to see if if ne arnt sealing. lol myt b over before i get to go for a roll

  5. No it won't damage it.

    Neither will is stop it from running, make sure your not 180 out on the crank if you have recently replaced the belt or something.

    Sounds more like a spark problem to me but.

    Sweet as yea checked number 1 piston and its up the top when its top dead center. Good to hear there shouldnt be any damage. It lowkey fired up once but run like a dog. I checked the belt and the right camshaft was like 2 out i think . If the cambelt tensioner that you move is a couple mm out would that effect it. Motor was running before hand Ive just changed the blocks because the rings went in the old one . Everything seems to be sparking finie. checked all the wiring to make sure i didnt miss anything.

  6. ok thats not to good to hear tho i might try another turbo on mine now that i have found out that i have been driving around without a licence for the last 1 1/2 months :down: even got a fine for front tyres to worn and they didnt even pick up that i didnt have a licence. til today when i was pulled over grrrr oh well looks like i now will have a fair bit of time to get my car sorta hope my problem is the same as yours

    After a closer look . Ive pulled mt turbo apart to rebuild it .Got interesting now . Id have a look at your xhuast wheel for some damage as mine is ******up . I aslo have damage to the bushs the shaft spins on so . Buts thats def my problem. turbo def not gna boost with a hacked up exhaust wheel. But my turbo ias off my old motor I blew up so Im not to sure with your deal . def swap turbos

  7. lol yeah no boost leaks already have checked that put all new hoses clamps on will the bearings cause it to feel like the boost is barely coming on but still says it is on the boost gauge ? by the way mine is the stock turbo and its loud lol spools so loud but barely goes anywhere

    what causes the bearing to go ??

    i have gone over my whole engine . i have a put another intake manifold and stadard plenum on just incase the problem was there. . replaced bov. seal was dodgy leking air . now im confident i dont have any air leaks ive gone ova everything .but were the dump pipe bolts on to the turbo using a v-clamp it slighly leaks but im sure that wouldnt cause the boost bull****. And i still have the same problem . Could it be tps as they are not used but with my ecu i have to wire it in . It kinda boosted lw key today . not proply bt it was like it wanted to kinda strt to take off then just shit itself ? mab spark being the problem . or weak signal to a sensor

  8. sorry i ment it started before i had the plenum modified and yes i can hear the turbo spooling up and no not that i can remember but when i spin it doesnt spin for very long like it spins but slows down and stops really quick (its still on the car by the way and its stock)

    same kinda buzz with mine spins but kinda cums 2 a quick suden stop . i just pulled it off becasue it was frustrating me . my external wuldnt even open up. im tryn 2 find someone that willl let me borow there turbo to see if that even is the problem. shoudnt mater if they stock or afta market they duin the same shit . does you bov faintly wehn your tryn to boost

    i have the same problem but mines in a r33 gtst series 1 its the same sorta problem you say it its tho mine only has a fmic, turbo back exhaust, high flow 3 inch cat, pod filter, exedy brass button clutch, also has a modified factory plenum that is front facing but the problem was there before i got the plenum modified turbosmart boost controller set at 10psi, feels like shit on boost but off boost drives good but its driving me insane i need help lol its like its a na :thumbsup: but it still says its boost and feels it sorta but not as much as when i first brought it. when i brought it it felt quick like real quick boost came on really hard it would spin the wheels in first and second in the dry when coming on boost and in the wet it would spin 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th when coming on to boost in the wet but now it doesnt feel like its coming on at all but says it is lol

    can you hear your turbo spooling at all ? you say the problem started at your plenum ? ive got no idea whats causing it my turbos back off and sitting in front of me . does your your turbo shaft spin freely bt if you slightly put presure on when you turn it does it jam up?? ill be so stoked if someone busts out the answer to my prayers

  10. This has got me stumped not sure if its the turbo or a masive exhuast leak i cant find or hear. Ive got a series 1 rb25det in a r32 coupe . i have got it running and its all mint when super nanaing it but as soon as you give it a bit of gas it feels like it wnats 2 scream but just wont boost at all. if you put your foot flat the boost guages reads 14 but doesnt boost at all.if you keep it in vacuum it drives fine just like a de sometimes you can faintly hear the bov but thats it ne ideas b4 i resort to the shop? i have a top mount setup and using a dsr turbo with a chiped ecu set to 14 pound. could wiring havnt something to do with it .
