  1. ok guys I have the gizzmo MS-2 I'm pretty sure its almost the same as the MS-ibc ... though mine seems to be a newer one brushed gold finish, I'm just wondering when you guys adjust the duty cycle percentage how much does it raise the boost by say every per 10%, I have a feeling something is wrong with mine as I'm increasing it by like 20% just to get a lousy 1psi increase ? am I missing something here... I thought the manual that came with it was rubbish lol
  2. oh yer I totally understand it now ... thanks for bringing me up to date on it all lol guess my research was a lil off, I didnt take the heatsoak into consideration just looked at the number side of things and got ahead of myself, anyways unfortunately due to it being this time of the year, christmas is burnin a massive hole in my pocket and I cant seem to free up any cash for my intercooler upgrade because its all being exhausted into solving my 2 current issues which are driving me insane lol but I've posted them up in other topics ... modifying turbos isnt as easy as I thought ... well hopefully I get all my problems sorted out with the car will get bak to you guys once I'm ready to upgrade to the fmic ... anyways once again thanks for all the info, u guys have been a big help as always, hope ya'll have a merry xmas and a happy new year =)
  3. I feel that I've done enough research ... I've heard that the r34 coolers we're good for up to 200kw am I right? I am aware that a front mount option would most likely be a better option for gains, but from what I've seen some modification had to be done to the front bar for fitment, I'm not a big fan of modifying components to fit, thats why I opted for the side mount and not the front mount, though if theres a kit out there that doesnt require any modification to my front bar then feel free to mention it and point me in the right direction yer ? thanks guys
  4. thanks for the quick replies guys, just spent another hour underneath the hood, all my lines and everything appear to be fine, so Im narrowing down my issue to be at the boost controller, because before installation of the boost controller a few weeks ago I was hittin 7psi boost constantly, now with the controller I'm hitting 5 to 6 as stated, I'm thinking that I havnt gone high enough in the settings because the gizzmo ms2 is a bloody difficult item to play with lol in my opinion anyways ... anyone got one of these things and know exactly what to set the duty cycle and gain at and if I'm meant to set anything else up because all I've played with is the duty and gain percentages, my duty is at 40% and my gain is at 10% anyway my next step is to wire up the FCD side of my boost controller, I have a white wire for FCD out which states that it should be wired to the ECU SIDE of the vehicles load sensor for determining boost cut, and a yellow wire for FCD in which states that this should be wired to the SENSOR SIDE of the vehicles load sensor for determining boost cut ... now I've read that on the R33's boost cut is controlled by air flow right? so one wire is to go to the AFM and one to the ECU, problem is I cant get a hold of any wiring diagrams would anyone be able to tell me exactly where I'm meant to solder these 2 wires to?
  5. hey guys I've been tryin to resolve this issue for a few weeks now, but today I've finally cracked it lol problem is that my car will not boost over 5-6 psi ... this is ridiculous feels like a camry could pull past me without any problems >.< in saying that I hope u guys understand the frustration I'm going through lol anyways the car is a Nissan Skyline R33 Series II, has got turbo back exhaust, k&n panel filter, stock intercooler and gizmo ms2 boost controller/turbo timer, surely there must be somethin wrong right? ... my boost controller seems to have no effect whatsoever at any setting, would this be because I have not wired up my boost cut defender lines? in the diagram it looks like it goes to the ecu but I havnt been able to get my hands on any wiring diagrams, at first I thought it may have been that it was caused by me just removing the factory boost solenoid completely and leaving the harness just sitting there but after putting it back in I still have no difference, the car does hold the 6psi fine, it doesnt drop off or anything like that, I've got some hairline cracks in one vacuum line which I have to get around to replacing but I highly doubt that this is causing me my boost limit. other thing is after fitting the damn controller the sound of the turbo spooling up seems to be louder? I do have a feeling the turbo is on the way out because of the excessive movement I felt when I replaced the front/dump pipe but either way shouldnt be effecting me being limited on boost rite? sorry for all the noob questions but I've asked around nobody seems to be able to help, hopefully someone out there in this forum can help me =) thanks in advance =)

  8. that sounds like my problem lol ... would u happen to know where bouts exactly its meant to be mounted to ? and would u have to drop out the tank to re-secure it or can I just do it with tank in place? thanks =)

I've got an r33 gtst series 2 and I'm looking at upgrading my intercooler, I'd really like to just keep the smic option, I was looking into the r34 gtt cooler upgrade but actually being able to find one is hard lol anyone out there know where to get one or if there are any other smic which I could get ? Im in sydney btw ... thanks =)
  12. hey guys hows it goin? I have a gizmo ebc + turbo timer all in one package on the way from autobahn ... atm I have a hks turbo timer that came with the car already installed, my issue is that I think my mongoose alarm system has been programmed for the hks, will there be an issue if I have the gizmo ebc function installed along side the hks timer ?? and the big question lol anyone ever installed one of this gizmo gadgets in their r33 gtst s2 before ??? some help would be greatly appreciated still new to the turbo scene lol =) thanks
  13. hey mate dunno if this helps but from what you explained I had the same problem last week, I was stuck on the side of the road and my car wouldnt engage the starter motor, I still had reds and power and thought it had to be my alarm or turbo timer, after disabling the imobilizer and turbo timer same issue, then after alot of tearing my hair out and frustration I decided to just pull the battery out walk down to the petrol station and get another one, put it in and started first go, havnt had any dramas since ... looks like I had a dead cell in the battery or something, but it was strange coz a few quick checks with a multimeter didnt show anything still had 12.4 volts in it and an acid leak test didnt show anything either, if u can get ur hands on a battery outta another car or somethin try it ? hope this helps
  14. thanks for the reply much appreciated mad082 =) I'm lookin into getting the consult cable, saw one off ebay so hopefully that is on the way now... as for my fuel issue, pretty sure noone has been able to come near enough to the car to syphon my fuel I've been watchin it like a hawk since I got it lol well the gauge readings seem to have come clear now, its reading fine I guess its more the consumption side of things I'm worried bout, but I'll wait for the consult cable to readjust the idle, atm I'm lookin around 250km outta a full tank 100km of it was highway driving and the rest city, I'm not sure if that seems right seeing as I came from a honda and that thing was awesome on fuel... only mods I really have are catback exhaust system and k&n panel filter? oh and the fuel light has just totally died on me now, probably the globe doesnt even light up wen I switch to acc on startup ... but I'II get bak after I've replaced the globe =)
