ECUTalk Consult LCD V2 Sensor Display / Trip Meter / Time Trials / USB Interface This item is a blue or green LCD (customised to your choice, see below) plug and play diagnostic display/trip meter for pre-OBDII Nissan cars with the 14 pin grey consult port (see car list below), it can display sensor and trip meter data (see below), read and erase fault codes, perform time trials (e.g. 0-100 km/h), etc, all without the use of a laptop. For more involved diagnostics/logging, it also has an integrated USB 'consult cable', which can be activated by the USBIF option on the main menu. This allows the display to be hooked up to a laptop and used just like any other consult cable (like in my other items). The display will come with a USB cable (standard USB Type A to Type B cable, like those used with printers). The display is 144mm wide, 48mm high and 33mm deep (buttons protrude 3mm), and weighs around 260g. The display has a hi-temp polycarbonate black matte enclosure. Cable length is approximately 140cm. The LCD is 20x4 character display with LED backlight. You can chose between a green lcd or a blue/white one. Both coloured screens are in stock, you should indicate the colour you would like in the 'add message to seller' field in checkout, or contact me after purchasing to indicate which you would like. The blue/white display is a 'negative' mode LCD which makes it harder to see in competing light or on an angle than the green LCD (which is easier to see with external light), keep this in mind when deciding on colour. The blue screen below is showing the main sensor display, and the green screen is showing the trip meter display (see down further for more pictures). Both colour displays have the same functionality. Click for larger picture. Firmware updates may be available in the future to add additional features (e.g. the display hardware has an onboard buzzer, the most recent firmware added support to use it for audible alerts), and you would be contacted by email if new updates become available. Once connected and the car is on or running and your display is connected to the 14 pin grey consult port, you can then: View sensor data - such as speed, RPM, battery voltage, economy, injector %, timing, AAC, O2, water temp, air flow and throttle. View trip meter data - such as current/ave speed & fuel economy, trip fuel used, fuel rate (litres/hour), KMs travelled, time elapsed. View/clear error codes - view fauls and the number of times the car has started since the fault was logged Perform time trials - 0-60km/h, 0-100km/h, 0-160km/h, 0-400m (and MPH equivalents if MPH option is set). View peak values - view peak speed, RPM, water temp, injector %, timing, air flow, and throttle for the current trip. Change options - units as km/h or mph (which determines L/100KM or MPG), C or F, TPS V or %, LCD backlight settings, etc Audible Alerts - user definable alerts for RPM, speed, water temp, air flow, injector % and battery voltage (v2.02 firmware) You will be provided with a CD including a user guide, USB drivers and the following Consult software: ECUTalk (our own software, gauges pictured far below left) OBD Scantech 1.29 Nissan (gauges pictured far below right) Conzult (freeware version, picture furthest below) Calumsult Suitable for most Nissan car models from 1989-2000 that have the 14 pin grey consult port, which is typically found near or attached to the in-cabin fuse box. It will not work for newer vehicles with the OBDII port (e.g. 350Z). It wont work if you have replaced your ECU with any aftermarket one like PowerFC, Autronic, EMS, etc (but remaps or daughterboards with the original ECU are OK). There is also a minor change to where sensors are display (temperature is at the start of the second line pushing instant economy and injector duty cycle to right - ignition timing then moves down a row to where temperature was previously).
