    4x Bridgestone R355 Semi Slicks 225/50/16

    The tyres do not come with the rims. 80%-90%+ tread remaining, they still even have that yellow line. Tyres are still soft.

    25 With 26 Internals Or 25/30

    Hey guys,

    I have done some research and was just after some more opinions...

    I blew up my turbo a couple of weeks ago at my last track day and my mate running a 3076r in his gtt with stock internals might have done a ring.. My gtt will be mostly used for track purposes and same as his. I decided to get it all done right the fist time instead of doing it step by step, i.e, do my injectors, then my turbo, then,.... I wana do it all at once and pull the car off the road till its all done.. after seeing my mate pullin 290kw and havin done his ring on his secound track day at sandown wasnt really wanting to build the car lil by lil and then having issues because i left out a couple of things.

    Orginally I made up my mind to do the 25/30 with the massive response resulting from the 30 bottom end... but then spoke to a couple of people who said that for track the 25/30 arent realy ideal due to the lost of top end power... :( Then one of them mentioned building up the 25 neo and upgradin all the internals with rb26 forged rods, crank and custom forged pistons (because of the neo head).

    power wise im after around the 310-350rwkw mark with a gt35r/3540..

    yer been checking the weather and it doesnt look too promising so far.. but cross fingers it will actually be nice n sunny.. got the slicks sorted but if its raining will have to run street tires..

    yer driver dynamics days r awesome... HEAPS of track time and they are really friendly.. always learn new stuff off the instructors..

    just wish they got us dorians to time the laps...

    hey tim,

    love the look of ur car mate!

    there is no limit in regards to the angle i dnt think.. but if u do want it 100% legal u pretty much need a stock exhaust or a VERY well designed customed made one($$$$).. I got defected a few weeks back n got a full epa.. took the car to get tested and got 87db and 89db on back off with a stock catback exhaust system and 3" front and dump pipe.. it doesnt matter how low u point it at the end of the day they can chcsk ur car on a hoist and test it which means ur theory of the sound hitting the ground would useless..

    hey thanks heaps for the help guys! :)

    i ended up calling vicroads this morning abt the windows and spent abt half an hour on the phone. they finally told me that imports with the privacy glass(not added film) are fine as far as there is the stamp in the glass or something, they also said that it complies with the ADR 8 rule. spoke to the guy i was going to get the rwc done through coz my usual mechanic is way too packed and this guy didnt have a clue and said he wanted to have a letter from vicroads to clear it otherwise he wont... so called up my usual mechanic and as soon as i said it was the rear he said that it wasnt a rwc item... so obviously it depends on the mechanics' general knowledge if they are gona give u headaches or try rip u off..

    great il give david a call..(brown davis) he is a really helppfull guy so hopefully he will be able to get me the current rule on paper..

    i just think its soooooo stupid how the cops can fine u for stuff that aren't even illegal.. seriously, daniel u got picked on probably coz the cop just saw the magic word "skyline" and was on a mission to get u for something even if he was wrong.. now u have to find some time to go to vicroads to fix HIS mistake really... there should be a rule where the cops would get fined for giving out the wrong fine instead of just trying to get more money off us.. :spank: would be a win-win situation, the governement gets money if we f**k up and they get money if the cops f**k up!!!!!! at the end of the day most of these mods we get done for make our cars are safer and even better for the environment... for example when i run my intercooler with the stock ecu the car runs really rich and backfires a lot... lowering our cars makes the cars more stable, having a cage not only make the handlin better but makes the car safer..

    ok enough sooking.. lol

    hey peeps,

    got pulled over last week and got done for a couple of things..

    1. no rear seats

    2. no padding on my half cage

    3. wheels sticking out

    4. tint too dark (2 rear quarters and rear wondow)

    the probs is the rear window and quarters are factory and r coloured glass not filmed so will be going to vicroads and try get them to understand that the car was complied as is and also clarify the rule abt not blocking off any windows on the front half of the car and the rear didnt matter..

    the other prob is that when i purchased my cage from brown davis the guy was telling me about this new act that came through in jan.. apparently we didnt have to register the car as a 2 seater and all that needed o be done was to remove the seats and seat belts and it would automatically be a legal two seater and vicroads didnt have to know. called vicroads and obviously that was bulshit and we still have to check up with them.. this question might sound a bit stupid and i think i already know the answer but i just want be 100% sure.. when theres a half cage no seats are allowed.. so im guessing i have to just put the seats back in and take the cage out yeh?!? or do i have to go register the car as a two seater and put the cage back in with padding because this is on the defect notice..?

    also the cop was lookin for my tire placard and was blind as he opened the driver side door and it was right there and didnt see soo proceded to opening the opassenger door and then the glovebox.. and the handcontrolelr for my pfc was just siiting in there... they thought it was a turbo timer and i just said i wasnt too sure as my mechanic tells deals with all that for me and i just drive the car... they took photos.. so i should be expecting a letter from the epa in the mail soon im guessing.. does anyone know what sort of timeframe they give u to get the test done by any chance? and would i be getting fined for it because they know its there already or doesnt it matter? i read throught the whole thread and havent seen anyone getting photos taken of their pfc?
