Problems to look for in a R34 GTT?

I'll look for that, thanks! -
Flutter noise - How?!?!?
maxtypeser replied to [R31][Silhouette]'s topic in Forced Induction Performance
sorry to hijack the thread but is it possible to hear that flutter noise with just a pod filter? I really can't find an aftermarket BOV on mine but I hear a decently loud flutter noise everytime I boost. -
Ahh took it to the dealership that I got the car from (here in Japan). I got a year's warranty with it so it isn't costing me anything..but from what I've heard it shouldn't be too much. I didn't take it out but perhaps if you did and then brought it there it would save you some $$ on labor as all they would have to do is clean/rebuild as opposed to taking it out themselves (which can be a pain if I read correctly). Don't know why but they wanted it there for two full days so I pick it up tomorrow. I think that's more because they were backed up with lots of cars.. not because it really takes that long. hope that helps.. good luck!

Ok, finally got it sorted out.. so it indeed was the starter motor. My Japanese is crap but it was something about the starter motor sticking in longer than it was supposed to.. causing the noise. Just needs to get cleaned and greased up again and it should be ok. thanks for all the input! oh and just for anyone reading this in the future the sound was coming from what seemed to be like under the driver's side of the car.

Car is a S2 R33 GTS25T Manual... Everytime I start the car there is a reaaally loud screeching sound coming from what seems to be under the car on the driver's side. Definitely not the fan belt... it was coming from what seems like the rear of the engine bay. But after the initial noise, it goes away... any ideas? Thanks!

I think I have the same exact problem.. on mine it was the switch was waaaaay loose and very sensitive so it would either be stuck in auto up or auto down position.. so it keeps trying to do one or the other even though it's closed/open.. thus making the clicking noise over and over. I narrowed mine down to happening only at idle but then found out that it was the only time my car was quiet enough to actually be able to hear it. Not sure if it's the same problem.. but hope this helped!

Hmm, I'm not really sure where the actual sensor is but in general they dont mount it right on the bumper. Also, I dont think even if you hit it with your hand or anything like that that it would bust out your airbags. From what I remember it takes a multitude of things to trigger off the release of the airbag (deceleration, sensors, etc). That's just a general car comment though.. have no idea about the skyline.

Whats up Everyone NEw GUy

I did some very cursory research on it a while back and it seems like you can't due to new(er) regulations prohibiting it. I think the new law was that if there is a remotely comparable model in the States (for instance like old model WRX Sti and the U.S. Impreza 2.5RS) you can't import it. However, if it is a totally different car, then with the proper crash testing, compliancing, etc, then you can drive it without a change of the steering wheel (i.e. I don't think Motorex Skylines change the steering wheel over?). However, I've seen pictures of street driven Evo's in the states. Some people just import it as a race or show car and then change the Vin badge on it (illegally of course) to one of a U.S. Mirage or Lancer. -
Yea that is the S2 front bar with (I think) the Nismo front spoiler. A bit conservative but I like it!
