  1. what's a replacement plenum worth on one of these out of interest? 15 hp is not to be sneezed at, and the crossover pipe looks stupid.
  2. definitely! otherwise how are you going to know what you need to replace?
  3. Will the SR20VE work in a RWD application? if not its probably worth going with the DE, unless the conrods and pistons etc are way heavier.
  4. you should buy a gtst, it will be cheaper running NOS (or nitrous oxide as it is correctly called) is a touchy subject, but you should watch the documentary "the fast and the furious" for more information.
  5. no it isn't enough, first you need to find out why you have low compression (doing what pipster11 has said is a good start) then work out what needs to be done from there. if the rings are worn you can;t just put new rings in. you should talk to your mechanic or engine builder about what needs to be done. unsure if RB25 and 26 rod lengths are the same, but this would probably be a good time to put them in.
  6. apexi ones are very nicely made, you could always get a HKS rock/bird filter
  7. yeah sounds about right, i wonder why they run at different speeds, I've never really considered superchargers before but have always wanted to twincharge something. Looks like the designation is R, so it would be an RB25DER if you believe in renaming engines that never existed oh yeah, dunno if you have seen this vid before but there is a link to their build, might be useful. they have put the TB after the charger but i would still leave yours where it is. (now i check it someone already posted the link to that build diary) i can still remember the sound 4AGZEs (supercharged 1.6 litre toyota motors) make, its like a 3 pitch tone, sounds totally awesome, though rumour has it they make that sound when they are out of gear oil, so not the best sound to hear.
  8. what part of Melbourne are you located in? i'm kinda looking for a series 2 33 at the moment, though not really in white. oh its manual right? looks like a knob in the photo but I haven't seen an auto skyline before so you never know.
  9. Some excellent work in this thread, i'd put the TB between the the charger and the plenum personally, but from what i have seen the simpler setup is to have it set up as you do, and you certainly have a lot of welding invested in that setup. what's Nissan's designation letter for a supercharger out of interest? i'm still trying to work out the geared drive arrangement on that charger, i take it the counter driven screw spins at ~ twice the speed of the driven screw?
  10. hey team, I've been across this forum a few times before, and am toying with the idea of buying a skyline, as I can't think of any other similar car that makes as much sense to buy for the money. I drove a series 2 R33 some time ago and apart from someone replacing the springs with some kind of magic springs that don't compress it was really good. I'll try not to mod one if I get it but I think there isn't much chance of that not happening. cheers, Will
  11. you could try a toyota forum, do you have a squirty bottle with water in it? doest he throttle butterfly rotate freely and return to the "closed" position?
